Nope. No. Nyet. Nein…read more How many ways can I say no? We made reservations for two tent sites during our motorcycle trip across Canada. We are veterans of the tent camping at primitive sites / truck stop / RV park scene, so I'd offer that our standards are pretty reasonable and based in years of experience. We rolled in after putting in about 500 miles. Immediately upon approaching the site, we began having those weird gut feelings telling us something wasn't quite right. The site itself is built into a hillside and the retaining walls outlining the park are covered in graffiti. As soon as I put my kickstand down, I got a weird stare down from some sketchy tweeker who I couldn't tell if he was eyeballing my equipment or challenging me to a dance off. The tent sites here are akin to a homeless camp. Cramped, dirty, and full of some people of questionable intent. The RV portion is little more than a gravel parking lot that is nut to butt as far as spacing goes. A fellow motorcyclist from Australia approached us and told us that we'd be best served to move on. He pointed out the sketchy tweeker and his entourage of turds, stating that they were confrontational, rude, and frankly of questionable moral character. In all fairness, Nelson has kind of a hippie artist vibe to it, so I wasn't all that shocked that the campsite embraced that ethos. The staff at the campsite were completely professional and I felt that the attendant wasn't all that shocked that we decided to move on. He even offered up multiple other options in the area. Let me be clear. There is no way I would stay at this campsite with 5 grown men, let alone with my family or kids. If you are completely self contained in a van or RV with a way of securing your property, you'll probably be ok, but you'll be rolling the dice. Bring a knife and your best parachute pants. The chances of a dance off or knife fight breaking out are good.

The spots are level, that's important in a small rig like ours. The place is super clean and the bathrooms are a dream! The folks in the campground are mostly just passing through and some are there for a couple days to enjoy all the outdoor activities. Those there for awhile are super friendly and helpful, we me several in our little world of chaos! The owner though, he's the real hero of this little haven! We arrived later in the evening only to find an entire group of folks in our spot. Well, what we thought was our spot!! We called the after hours number and one of the folks actually texted the owner for us. Lo and behold, in the year and a half on the road, I had mixed up the reservation date! We were scheduled to be there the day before and they were full that night! The owner found us a spot to park though, luckily with a plug in since it was so hot!! We had a very peaceful night sleep and will forever remember his kindness! Thank you North Haven, you're one of the best!

For "glamping", the Conestoga Wagons are fun, and there are actual Tipi spots coming that'll be right among the trees! Be sure to walk the nature trail through the woods when you're here. One of the worst stays ever…read more The only thing that is accurate on their website is the view. We arrived on July 1 and there is no one at reception. We had to pick up our key at the lockbox that is located outside the office. The room #305 had a very strong musty smell to it like it hadn't been aired out in ages. The room was substantially smaller than a regular hotel room that we had the previous evening. There is no phone in the room There is no area in which you could comfortably hook up a computer. We ended up moving things around and hooking up the computer on the very small desk where the coffee maker was. There is no ice. We were given instructions to use the freezer on the second level but the freezer was open and completely empty. No complimentary golf. We wouldn't know where to go anyway since there were no staff available. The bed is so close to the wall - maybe about 1 ft. from the bed to the wall so that when I needed to go to the washroom at night I had to crawl to the end of the bed in order to get out of bed. We expected that many of the item and services would not be available because of covid - no spa, no breakfast buffet etc. but we did not expect to have a rundown room that obviously needs attention and renovations. We paid the less to stay at another resort during our staycation and we had a beautiful 1 bedroom suite with a separate bedroom, tvs in both the living room and bedroom, a kitchenette and washer and dryer. We could get ice from the refrigerator that was in the room. They also had a lobby area that was staffed and friendly service from said staff. We had a mountain view. I absolutely would not recommend this resort and I certainly would never stay here again myself.

We had a great time hanging out in the hot tub and relaxing on the porch watching the Kootenay Lake Ferry. The breakfast is truly Continental style of Coffee, Tea, Juice with muffins, bagels, toast, waffles, French toast and fresh fruit. Cereal is also available. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we're riding in the area. Fantastic!
