When confronted with this and a clear break in their process, they became defenisive, suggesting it was from a different cleaners, even when faced with their own packaging. No attempt to deal with the situation was forthcoming. A more obnoxious pair of people in the service industry you couldn't meet.

I have been a longtime customer (20 years), of Sutton Dry Cleaners and never had an issue with them…read moreuntil today. A pair of trousers I got taken up were still too long. I brought them back to be fixed and the manager, a black haired lady refused to believe they were incorrect. An altercation ensued in which she absolutely lost the plot with me completely unnecessarily. I stood up for myself and she bizarrely called the police on me and threw me out of the shop. I tried to reason with her numerous times and finally offered to pay for the trousers to be redone. She absolutely refused to engage with me to resolve the situation, amicably. I'm so glad it will be all on camera. Have never in my life encountered such aggression towards myself a paying long time customer. I don't know who the owners are but they really need to check how staff talk to customers when they have an issue with a garment not being correct. The manager needs to do a course in politeness and learn how to resolve a customers unhappiness without shouting back at the customer and inflaming things.. She kept accusing me of just wanting something for free which wasn't the case, I really just wanted to resolve the issue of the trousers that were too long. What inflamed the situation was her attitude was so aggressive towards me when I questioned her. She wasn't going to re do the trousers for free and after some heated words then I offered to pay to have them re-done. She would not accept this solution. She then called the police and threw me out of the shop pushing the money and the trousers off the counter back to me. I left the shop and went into the shop adjoined to pull myself together, I was in tears at this stage where the man who owns the next door shop saw how visibly upset I was. He was very kind to me and told me that this is a regular occurrence and I am not the first person this has happened to. It was desperately upsetting. I have worked in customer service for 40 years and would never ever speak to a customer the way she did me. In the end, I tried to resolve it amicably and she simply would not speak to me kept asking me to leave.

Just experienced the worst example of customer service ever…read more I dropped in a new dress I had never worn for alteration. When I got it back I tried it on immediately looking forward to my lovely and now better fitting dress and was devastated to discover a small hole in the skirt. I brought it back and the guy said the lady responsible for alterations would get back to me. Heard nothing so over a week later I went back myself. The lady got my dress from the back and told me it was not and could not possibly have been them as they were only working on the waist. This is a new dress I had never worn, only tried on several times deciding whether I should have the alteration done or not. There was no hole. When I tried it on straight after I collected it there was a hole - obviously made by a scissors. Her only comments: wasn't them, couldn't be them, obviously had been there a long time and do I want her to sew it. All said in a very terse tone. No thanks you have done enough damage already. I have had regular alterations & dry cleaning done there - NEVER AGAIN. And I will tell all my friends too. All for 20 quid and an apology. Hope it was worth it!

After just getting a lot of work done in my local dry cleaners, Sutton Dry Cleaners/Regency…read moreCleaners, I still had to get a zip replaced on my hoody. The man who worked there suggested to me to wait so he could order around 12 zips for me to pick from. He said that they would use them anyway and to come in specially for this a week from then on the Saturday. He suggested the service. He asked me come all the way in. When I came in he got a bit flustered and went into the back from where he did not return. Two minutes later (the time I am sure it took him to explain that he had messed up) a woman came out saying she was the manager. - I never asked for the manager - I had not made a complaint She very sternly said that this was not a service, they don't replace designer zips ( its a Zara hoody, not Chanel) an told me that I should have kept the receipt from the shop I got it from. She was on the defence for a preemptive strike that I wasn't even giving. As I very calmly said that he should have sent me a message to let me know not to come in she VERY sharply snapped 'EXCUSE ME?' I did not retaliate as I did not want to give her the scene that the she was unnecessarily preparing for. I calmly finished the conversation and had to go all the way home again to drop of my jumper making me late. - I never asked for or needed a manager. - They suggested a service they couldn't provide and snapped at me for it. - They wasted my time and made me late by asking me to come in and not bothering to update me. - There was no need for the instant change to the manager and it actually makes the establishment look even more wrong and the staff incapable after the man hid in the back. He asked me to come in. He was the only person in the transaction. We were in front of each other. Why couldn't he tell me? - It was phrased that I was in the wrong. - All it would have taken would have been to say, I apologise, I should not have suggested and offered that service and I should have notified you to not come in. That would have been no problem at all. The entire experince to which there is no logic was appalling, disgraceful and easily avoidable. DO NOT GO TO SUTTON DRY CLEANERS! DISGRACEFUL!
