This is probably the cheapest place to rent a car in Sydney. I have rented a car through them several times and it is always hassle-free! Need to change the time of pickup ? No problem, just ring them up. The online rental process is easy and fast. It should not take you more than 5 mins. Whenever I go to pick up the car, I wait no more than 5 mins because there are many counters/ staff. Within 10 mins, you should be able to check the rental car, sign some papers and off you go ! As far as rental companies go I think these guys are a good lot. The car was pretty new, it had a USB thingy for my phone (win) and they have unlimited mileage within NSW as an option, which was handy as I drove to Lismore! The price was pretty competitive. The service was easy to deal with and the terms clearly explained. You can even end up reducing the $400 excess to $50!!! I likey this option. Nevermind that on my way back from Lismore I got pulled over by the police at 1am - in all honesty I would have pulled me over too. As I was driving slowly, stopping at green lights and trying to figure out where I was. When did North Sydney get so confusing? Suffice to say, these guys are helpful, handy and cheap if you want a car to do low mileage with you can get a cheaper hire rate. Plus they made pick up and drop off a breeze as they have after hours drop off too. read more

A perfect example of "it does what it says on the tin," Bayswater Car Rental made the usually lengthy and obnoxious process of renting a car completely simple. As a first time renter, I walked in with no prior reservation, rented a car for the exact price that was quoted on their website, wasn't pushed to upgrade or purchase add ons like GPS or additional insurance coverage, hopped in a clean new car, and was driving out of the garage within 15 minutes. The real value came when I was allowed to park the car overnight for free in their secure parking lot and come back the next day to finish up my rental period. Sure the proces was entirely boring and standard (much like this review), but isn't that exactly what you hope for when renting a car? read more

Have rented from Bayswater Rentals, Artarmon on several occasions. The rates are always competitive and the cars clean and reliable. Unfortunately in my experience they fail badly when it comes to common courtesy. Not always but on more than one occasion I have experienced quite rude and abrupt counter staff who seem to have no training in customer relations. "American gives cost breakdown for this this car rental place" I visited Australia from the United States in February 2016. I used the car for 16 days and drove 3353 km or 2083 miles. I paid a total of $900 dollars with insurance. Here are the notes I took: The first 7 days was $217 Insurance for the first 7 days is optional but I got it for $56 ($8 per day) The other 9 days were $351 (insurance required and included in the $351 - $8 per day) Because I'm from out of the country there was an overseas fee of $8 X 16 days is $128 I rented from Bayswater in Sydney which is in the North South Wales state of Australia but since I took the car to Victoria state of Australia there was an interstate fee of $100 Tolls plus a $10 Bayswater admin fee for the tolls is $42 Ride to the airport provided by Bayswater $5 read more

Deplorable behaviour when I returned a car today with a friend. The asian lady standing in the Returns window didn't smile, didn't speak and didn't acknowledge us as we arrived at the window. We told her where the car was, she snatched the car and yelled out to some guy in another language then THREW THE KEYS over my head, towards the guy. She's very lucky it missed my head. I then asked if everything was ok and she said, "Move aside!" and motioned for us to get away. My friend asked if there was anything we needed to do or sign and she stared blankly at us like we weren't even there- so we awkwardly started to leave. As we were walking out the guy she threw the keys to asked if we were ok, which is at least some kind of proper customer service I suppose. She's disgusting though. If I was her boss and I saw what she did I would have fired her on the spot. What an A-Hole read more

In 2013 I was unfortunately rear ended by a Bayswater car on my motorcycle. The client was very helpful of getting me off the road and making sure I was ok and informed me that he had a TOP COVER policy with Bayswater. So it should be all sweet and everything would be settled in a couple of months. But definitely not if your dealing with Bayswater, It has been almost 3 years of trying to receive anything to at least cover half of the damages to my motorcycle or medical bills. I was deemed NOT AT FAULT BY POLICE so that meant Bayswater was liable. Dealing with Bayswater has been the worst experience of my life even though I have handed in every document they asked for, NOT ONCE have they contacted me regarding to this accident since 2013. I had to call or email every time (Never received a response by email) and they just gave me the run around, I left my details for them to call me back each time for the last 3 years and they never did. I was transferred from one employee to another multiple times to whom they say "I cant help you" I was lied to multiple times when I ask for the claims manager I get told to call back, he will be back in 15 minutes as he is on lunch and when I do call back I get told he was never in today??? This happened more than once, I was also told that the client has not paid his excess but I called the client and he has receipts proving he has(and extra hidden charges). They also told me at one point the client did not meet company policy but if he did not he would be refused a car?? When I finally spoke to the claims manager after days and weeks of calling around November 2015 and asked why I haven't been informed about anything regarding to the accident I was told and I quote "THERE IS NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT". I asked what insurance company they are with and they don't have insurance? BAYSWATER DONT HAVE CAR INSURANCE, they are self insured and probably is the main reason why they are stretching the time of the claim to make me give up. I also managed to speak to the Bayswater Owner and he just referred me to the same person that does not want to help. read more

Having used other hire car companies, I would have to say it is my least favourite. Unfortunately they are often the cheapest. Arriving at 11am to pick my car up, I had to wait 20 minutes in a queue before being served and was then told I had to wait 15 minutes while the car was being washed. Even though I had booked it for 11am. They told me if I had been there at 11 I wouldn't have had to wait, as they must have given my car to someone else. They didn't seem to care I had been waiting since 11. They charge you a once off $10 e-tag fee, unlike other companies which lets you purchase your own temporary pass. I wouldn't call the car I got spotless but it was in new, good condition. The other annoying thing with Bayswater is that you have to return the car with the petrol tank filled to the point that it was left by the previous hire (ie 3/4 full) which makes it frustrating trying to refill. I would recommend going elsewhere to hire your car unless it is the cheapest option by far. read more

I have been a fan of Bayswater car rentals especially as many car hire companies allow bookings whilst failing to honor them on arrival- my last experience was however poor. I was given a vehicle (corolla white, no birds) with damage to both rear mudguards. I complained but they insisted it was the only vehicle available. On return the returns selected the wrong paperwork and suggested I had doctored the carbon copy damage report. After my colleague sighted that the paperwork was indeed not mine, I received an apology. A judgement of being a liar and fraud may take a few weeks to forgive. I am looking for a new supplier again. read more
