I went in for two fillings, but instead of resolving my issue, they created a much bigger problem. Now I need a root canal treatment, which costs over $1,000--an expense I can't afford because they maxed out my student insurance. I'm not even sure if the root canal was necessary from the start, but after my complaints, they conveniently took another X-ray and said it was needed. It feels like they avoided doing the proper treatment initially because it would exceed the insurance coverage. Before visiting this clinic, I had no pain, sensitivity, or issues. Now, I'm left with significant dental problems and no insurance coverage to fix them. This clinic seems to prioritize maximizing insurance claims over providing genuine care. It's predatory and takes advantage of students. Please save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs!

Her hands are very dexterous and you barely feel her working on your teeth. She is also very thorough with her check ups, I feel my teeth are very well taken care of by her. I also have a dental implant from Baywell, the surgery was performed by Dr Luong herself. The surgery went smoothly, Dr Luong was very professional and explained to me the procedure and let me know what she was doing at every step. I recovered very quickly from the procedure. Overall, everyone I've encountered at Baywell has been pleasant and friendly. Just to name a few individuals that I've encountered at Baywell--Marianne the hygienist is very friendly, she does thorough cleanings and makes good conversation. I've been a customer since 2002…read more Dr Paul Stratis performed my work in 2002 and I can confirm his work is excellent and stood the test of time. I had two crowns put in and they both were of superior craftsmanship, and I've enjoyed trouble free teeth since then. I made one big mistake in roughly 2007 but switching to a dentist closer to my new work location at that time. Live went on. Come 2019 I had a tooth that presented some issues and suddenly needed a rush root canal. I had issues locating a provider and decide to call up my old dentist and ended up being placed with Dr Nick Stratis, Paul's son. I can safely say the talent runs in the family. Nick was expert in his needle work, he performed the root canal quickly and expertly (on a rear molar the work is much more detailed). I had a temporary filling and a prescription for antibiotics in case the infection spread. Things recovered quickly. I went back for more detailed work and my new crown. Like before the finishing work was quick, clean, and expertly performed. I love my new crown. Absolutely no tooth or jaw alignment issues. Lastly, I should mention no great dental office is complete without great tooth cleaning experts. All of the staff who clean my teeth have done excellent work, and leave me walking away with super clean teeth and gums. It shows every time I smile. I feel obligated to maintain a great dental health routine just to not disappoint the staff on my next visit. And finally staff who run the front counter and manage appointments have been professional, organized, and super accommodating, when I've had to make schedule adjustments. I'll be going to this office for my dental work even if I move out of province. I'll find a way.

Only recently I had couple of problems when scheduling appointments - one time there was no confirmation e-mail sent and I mixed up the times because I expected and e-mail with date and time (as usually) and then another time I scheduled an appointment for my husband, he took his day off to go for an appointment, but when he got there, he found out that the receptionist forgot to schedule his appointment in the system. When I called for explanation, I was told that they are unable to check what happened. Can we come back another time? Like it's so easy to take time off once again. If I would miss my appointment, I would be charged a fee for dental hygienists time; however, if they "miss" my appointment, "It's okay, can you can tomorrow again?" Basically, to waste time, she drilled so much that it damaged a nerve and I started bleeding. I called them to tell them I have blood oozing out and was told to take salt water gargle. Finally, at 1 am I had to go in an ER because the blood wouldn't stop. I had to spit blood every 45 sec, because my mouth would be full. ER couldn't stop the blood, because it was a dental issue I guess. Next morning, I went to them and they (with a straight face) heard everything and asked me to go to a specialist. They booked an appointment for me for that afternoon. It's was already 24 hours of no sleep, or food, or sleep. After 24 hours and blood all over and around me, I was finally fixed with stitches. Doesn't have all the (unnecessary) bells and whistles you sometimes see (eg tvs, noise cancelling headphones, etc)...just a super skilled dentist, great hygienist, and extra lovely support staff. Also: I pay out of pocket and the receptionist always provides me w an estimate before any work is done, just to make sure I know what I'm in for. Prices are perfectly reasonable, but dentistry is expensive, and appreciate that extra bit of consideration on their end!

I moved to Toronto two years ago and started coming to Harbord Dentistry since it was nearby my apartment and reviewed well and I have no regrets! My old dentist used very traditional methods and never really communicated with me as to what was happening with my dental hygiene or what steps I could take to make improvements on it - it was in the door and out as fast as possible and the barrier of communication caused my dental hygiene to suffer over the years. Dr. Baradaran and his team however are some of the friendliest people I have ever met! They schedule appointments to be longer than needed which means Dr. B has plenty of face to face time with you and can answer questions or fill you in on what's happening with your mouth and his team have given me advice on how to improve my hygiene routine. Additionally the hygenists are incredibly patient and are very accommodating with my gag problem and always make sure I am comfortable above all else. Whenever they need to do something they will tell me ahead of time and not only let me know what procedure they're doing but also why they're doing it and what it will do to help my mouth. It truly was a night and day experience coming here after my old dentist and it has helped me see just how much difference there is between traditional and modern dentistry. I'm definitely going to continue coming here as long as I'm living in the GTA.

This clinic puts itself on a stage where it preaches a family like atmosphere with it's patients, asking you friendly questions, trying to get to know you by asking about favourite interests on it's intake form, adding confusion as to whether or not this is actually a dental practice office or if it's a hipster joint that you're registering for an ID card at. In addition to it's problematic, arrogant, self serving, & over priced dental surgeon, Dr. Botbol, they have an anesthesiologist that will call to discuss the procedure further with you and whether or not they think you're a good fit for the services this particular anesthesiologist can offer in this clinic (seeing as how it isn't an OR room). This man is just as arrogant, if not even MORE offensive in his treatment of people, going as far as to put me down into a mentally small box for having borderline personality disorder, claiming that I could wake up and be a danger to the office at one point because of the "unpredictable nature of your mood disorder." I would never, never ever, recommend anyone to this clinic. While they reign you in with false promises, they do nothing for the patient to supply & execute the process. They just layout the prices for you on multiple pieces of wasted paper, exercising their rights to charge you thousands of dollars, and saddle you with an impossible bill - all the while charming you, telling you it all with a smile on their face. After all, that's what they are all about, creating a world where everyone and anyone can smile and feel good about it. This particular clinic went so far as to goad my autism and Dr. Botbol decidedly pointed out that he was surprised I could have achieved that, as well taking it upon himself to "let me know" that I don't "present" as someone with autism. Do yourself a favour. Find a different, more welcoming & inclusive environment.
