I visited a dentist for the first time when I was 20 because I had a tooth that had caved in and was causing me truckloads of pain and discomfort. I lived in Rexdale and worked at the "dreaded" Woodbine Centre at the time so Dr. Adatia was perfectly located. I have since moved further from her practice twice and I still treck it back to Rexdale because I think she and her staff are the bomb. My favourite dental hygienist is Stephanie. A chatty Italian in her mid 30's who makes me feel like going to the dentist is like visiting an old friend.

I got the clear braces and a year and a half later my teeth are perfect. The staff was fun and friendly. You eventually get to know all of them. My hygienist was super nice and took care of all my concerns with my treatment. She also made sure my braces were ready to come off before my birthday (early birthday present : ) ). They had t.v.'s all around in the main room. It's obvious that Dr. Hibberd is very detailed about his work which is why I ALWAYS recommend him to my friends and family. They put wires behind my teeth once the braces came off to behave like a retainer which are cool. I wear retainers at night too to make sure my teeth forever remain straight. He made me clear plastic retainer's that aren't too bad. They are conveniently located right in front of Jane Station which is a huge plus! Dr. Hibberd was the guy I went to, and they've got a pretty big and efficient operation running here. I admit that the initial attraction for me was that they had Nintendo in the waiting room, but sadly that's long gone. When I was back recently (after a nearly ten-year absence) to get the last wire things off the back of my teeth, I was impressed that some of the assistants still recognized me, and they had installed a neat touch-screen self-check-in system in the waiting room.

Dr. Adibfar herself is nice but comes across as phony. 3 things especially bothered me: 1) When she was working on my mouth her hair was down and kept dangling onto my face. 2) She and her assistant kept placing their instruments on my chest as if it was a tray. 3) I experienced a lot of pain and sensitivity following my composite fillings (which I have had before and never had problems), so much so that for 2 weeks I couldn't eat or sleep without the help of NSAIDs and her only explanation was to hand me some free Advil and tell me it would decrease with time. 6 months later I still have sensitivity issues.

All have been, and continue to be - outstanding. The owner, Suzanne Brown, is very knowledgeable, with a fun personality, a big heart, and a wicked determination to 'straighten you out'. She is very generous with services, and doesn't charge extra for treatments like ultrasound. She's old- fashioned, and puts people before profit, and you feel that while you are there. She even sends out birthday cards to all of her clients with hand-written messages. Suzanne is very picky about whom she allows to work in the office. Nick, the current massage therapist, has a varied background and gives the best massages I have ever had. Barb, the current naturopath, is pleasant and knowledgeable. She has a special interest in nutrition, has an encyclopedic knowledge of nutrients and supplements, and has loaned me her personal materials so I wouldn't have to buy them. Rodica, the receptionist and chiropractic assistant, can come across as a bear if you don't know her, but she's actually a pussycat with her own special brand of humour. There are a few new people,as well. I haven't worked with any of them so can't describe my experience but as I've said, Suzanne is very picky. My first impression going there as a client was that I would be safe and well cared for, and the years have proven this to be true. No flash, just genuine, talented caring. But you don't want to start going there - it will make it harder for me to get appointments!
