As I stepped foot back at this school, I noticed that they are renovating a few buildings. Im sure with years passing by, things have changed. The school is modernized and continues to get updated with construction all over the campus. I've had good luck overall when i had to speak to counselors in the past and they even offered video visits(unsure if they still do so) greast school to kick start off your pre reqs if you cant afford university, try here first then transfer out. Parking lots have a kiosk to pay and they have a couple of lots surrounding the campus as well as street parking and metro near by.

I took part of a class there a long time ago with Irma, who was very patient and very nice. And…read morethen unfortunately Covid hit and that ended the classes - at least, in-person classes. I literally never heard from her or anyone else again. Maybe they continued the classes on Zoom or something. I stopped by the school a few times but the door was locked. I'd paid something like $250 for 8 sessions and I did 5 or 6 of the 8. I contacted her about a year later after the horrid first phase of Covid was over, and she said she was sorry that we'd fallen out of touch and that I was welcome to return sometime. I think Irma is probably outstanding for one-on-one instruction. But after 6 class sessions, we hadn't really gotten very far, and I am sure I'd have had to pay her thousands of dollars before I was proficient in Spanish. I guess what I was looking for was something like a 4 or 6-semester Spanish class a couple times a week that wouldn't have cost me more than about $1,000 total (yeah, "good luck with that" in these times of inflation...) I actually did find this at Pierce College and it was way beyond bad - after 6 weeks of twice-weekly sessions, we were still on uno, dos, tres and learning how to use the verbs ser and estar. Anyhow, I wish Irma and her program the best, even if it didn't happen to work out for me personally.

When the class ended, I hired Irma to teach me privately, which she has done for the last three years. I have studied Spanish my entire life, and have had many teachers, but no one compares with Irma.  She not only has extensive knowledge of the language, but she is a very intuitive teacher who is able to assess her students and tailor the lesson plan to best suit their needs.  I also believe in Irma because she is very patient and thoughtful. Irma has had a tremendous impact on my life.  Firstly, she has helped me improve significantly my ability to speak, read and write Spanish.  Second, I really feel that the world is a more open place for me, because I am able to communicate with everyone in my environment, and speaking Spanish with native speakers immediately puts them at ease, opens up doors, and shows them respect.  I also feel that potential opportunities will arise for me because I am able to speak Spanish.  My Spanish lessons are extremely important to me, and I look forward to them every week.  If you are interested in learning a new language, School of Language Arts is the place you should go.

I also made sure to always show my gratitude as well. I received a message at 3 pm stating my son could not come into school the following day because ccrc did not pay them for the month of Jan or Feb. CCRC closes at 4:40-5 so that was not enough time to get in touch with anyone. It was just very upsetting. Mind it was the last day of February so they wouldn't have had payment yet for the month so I don't know why they even mentioned that. Clearly they don't know how to do their job, Either way it was a clerical error on the schools behalf because why wasn't that communicated to me or ccrc. A whole month of not being paid should've been brought to someone's attention. It was definitely not my fault. Being told he couldn't come was so disrespectful and inconsiderate to me as a single mother. It felt as if my child did not matter and he was just money to them. What's upsetting is that since he's already been there for many months they could've at least given me 24-48 hours to fix it. Or maybe even ask if I could pay for the day instead they simply said he can not come. Then to add to the disrespect they had a whole group chat instead of talking to me in person. It felt as if they wanted everyone in the loop to make sure he was turned away in the morning. Instead of admin sending an individual email. They also had the class TA send the message. The wording was also unprofessional. I personally know her so I know she meant well, but if I didn't I would be completely offended. If you want to send your child to a daycare you feel are a caring community, a family type sense of comfortability. This is definitely not the place its simply monetary for them. I would not recommend you take your child here. I made sure the problem was resolved before picking him up. Luckily I got through, but considering the horrible experience I knew I couldn't take him back there I just didn't feel it was in his best interest. So if you have ccrc I would consider other options.

The staff prior to the change of ownership in 2018 was OK, the turnover in management was actually great. The new director that came in is extremely kind. The staff is terrific. I have never once witnessed any child being left in "soiled" diapers. I toured several daycares prior to putting my daughter in this center. I am very particular to my daughter's safety and have never entrusted anyone besides this center and my own family members to watch over her. This location serves several families of all backgrounds. Parents who work directly for the court and county offices, teachers, medical personnel as well as many others. 5 stars to the staff of VNCCDC
