They helped me accomplish a huge step in my life, a first step to a much brighter more promising future. I signed up for the Nursing Assistant program. It's a 100 hour program, in which they provide everything necessary to get you ready for your state test. Signing up was easy. It's a decently priced school. And one of the few in which are still open during this pandemic. Debbie owns and runs the school. She can be a bit scarce and hard to get a hold of but she's honestly got so much going on with all the programs her school provides and getting them together for both attending and up coming students. My instructor was Amanda. Amanda was very professional, great with communication and very thorough with teaching. She is willing to go the extra mile to help you with anything you need to learn or practice. Amanda made sure myself and my class were well prepared for our state test. Coastal Career Academy provides you with both morning and evening classes which is great for anyone who needs a flexible schedule for attending Coastal Career Academy. With the variety of courses they offer you honestly can't go wrong. I recently passed my state test on both my Clinical and Knowledge test. I couldn't be more happier and I plan on coming back for a few more things like CPR and EKG. I took the Medical Assisting course and it was completely disorganized,…read moretheir mannequins arms and legs are being held on with duct tape, whenever you lifted it, they fell off. They didn't have the proper equipment to train with, they did have mannequin arms for learning to draw blood, however, they had us sticking eachother immediately the first night of phlebotomy, Ive taken phelebotomy before, you first practice on the fake arms to get the feel for it, then you stick a live person, none of the students had ever even held a needle prior, then the grant was ending and they rushed through the class by adding 2 extra days per week. I work full-time and the only reason I took this class was because it was only 2 nights per week. I tried to quit the course 3 times instead of wasting my time, the owner told me that if I quit that I would owe her $6500 and wouldn't receive the grant, so I continued. We never even got the CPR training we were supposed to have, luckily I'm already certified in CPR. The night before the National exam, I had to call the school to get the time of the test. I confirmed it via text. I was told it was at noon and to get there 30 mins early. I took the entire day off of work to take the exam. I showed up at 11:15 a, 45 mins early. They were closed. I texted the instructor to make sure I was at the right site, she read my text and never answered me. At 6:30 pm I got a call from the owner asking where I was, that they were in the middle of testing. I told her the story, which she didn't believe and told her, I wasn't going to waste my time anymore. She started getting loud with me, stating that she paid $150 for me to test and if I missed it, I would owe her the money. I told her I have texts to prove it and she said she wanted to see them. So I said "fine" I drove back there and showed her the texts. Not even an apology. I aced the test in 15 mins. I emailed her the next day and told her I would love to sit with her and give her feedback. I never heard from her. Now just for context. I have been a paramedic for 37 years, I've owned 3 businesses, one of them was an EMT training and testing site. I have alot of experience with running a business and this is NOT how you do it. I had no interest in becoming a Medical Assistance, however, she offered me the course for free. I love to learn, so I took it. I also had to pester her for a copy of my certificate for my portfolio. I'm embarassed to have graduated from this school. I tried to write a review on Goggle but she blocked people from writing them. Whatever you do, DO NOT go here. If you are looking for a good MA course, there's a great one in Seekonk at MTTI. Godspeed.

This school is mid. Mid teachers. Mid students. Mid building. Mid lunch. Gets detention and…read moresaturday schools for being late even when it's not your fault. Gets yelled at for everything. Make you starve sometimes. Security guard watches people go to the bathroom, sounds sus to me. Hallways too small, freshman can't walk on the right side. Some people are big W's but most are mid.

In addition to the usual stacks of books, the library has computers available to be used plus wifi access, digital media to be borrowed and lots of space for study. I found a quiet study room under the back stairs that was first-come first-served and spent about three hours there, working and having my work Zoom meetings. Plenty of power, no noise and I was not disturbed. I was even able to keep my sneaky water bottle with me and didn't mind since there wasn't anything I could possibly damage with spilled water.
