They were then contracted for bookkeeping and accounting. Over time the price kept going up. No surprise of a firm like this but they charge for everything, just answering the phone is another $175. Their invoices were a mystery with only a variable monthly charge but no detail as to why. They missed 3 sales tax filings in 2 years costing us penalties. Every year when they did our annual taxes, they pulled their fee out of the wrong account leaving that store cash poor until we would notice and transfer from the correct account. In the end when terminated their service the last invoice wasn't the last. Another one showed up for supposed work they did when we were closed for covid. Don't know since their invoices have no detail. And right after that we found out that we again owed penalties and interest in sales tax for the last quarter they invoiced us for. Talked about terminating them a year before so I guess it's our fault for waiting.

But it turns out that that Jeff took on more than he could handle in his businesses and his services dropped off the radar between a contract job he had. After persuading me into filling an extension and when the deadline for the extension was approaching (~1 month away) he would not return my phone calls or emails and I wasn't even sure if he was in the hospital or dead for that matter. I sent 5 emails, numerous phone calls and even a visit to his remote office and he was no where to be found. We needed tax services for a home we were purchasing at the time so I sought out another CPA because due to the non-response I didn't think that he was even available or able to handle my taxes. I sent him a final email to stop any work he had done and I would pay for the tax extension cost but I needed to complete my taxes. I completed my taxes with another CPA, Jeff returned my documents (still no email or call) and then sent me a bill for $740 without completing any of my taxes (my other CPA filed my taxes). I sent Jeff an email and a certified letter letting him know I would only pay for the hour we met to discuss the taxes and the cost of the extension. Not only did he not respond, he sent his "bill" to collections which affected my perfect credit score. I am so mad that he ruined my credit for services he never even performed!!! If you want an overpriced, uncommunicative, unresponsive CPA, then go with Jeff.
