I was intrigued by the offer on the ad for a boot camp type work out. Located on Riverside Drive, you might miss them if you don't look carefully, but once you find them I think you'll be happy. The staff is uber friendly and helpful and the programs are very good - group as well as personal type training. We did a month program which was great, but in the end we decided to to another round of p90x, which isn't any reflection upon the gym.....just not the right time or in our budget at that moment.

All of the coaches are well versed in many different areas of lifting techniques, strength and conditioning, injury prevention and also working with previous or current injuries using a scientific approach. During my first month there deadlifts showed up and I was able to explain my previous back injury from previous deadlifts and how I was physically and mentally affected. Strength Ratio coaches were able to listen and understand. We broke the movement down to a simpler form which allowed me to still participate but also allow me to start healing from my fear. Through many cycles of progression of new movements and building strength I can now fully deadlift without pain or exercise. There are endless amounts of examples to share but the bottom line is if you are looking for a place to grow stronger and have an absolute great time around a circle of positive folks... this is your place!!

I…read moreexplained how I was going through financial hardships and that I had stopped visiting the facilities in hopes that they could cancel my contract early. I was basically told "you only have 2 months left, you'll be able to catch up". Being that I signed a contract, I came to terms with paying for those 2 months and agreed to do so once I had the available funds. Since then I have continuously received a new monthly bill with additional late fees tacked on, despite many attempts to settle up on those 2 months. Each time I've called I have been told by "Adam" that he has no way of getting in touch with the owner.. that this was a common issue others had with him.. that he would write my number down and call me back.. etc. I have sent half a dozen emails since then as well - not a single response. Meanwhile the late fees continue to rack up without ANY way of being able to settle or contact the owner. There is no website or instructions, other than to call... even the phone number on the bill is INCORRECT (had to Google the correct one) Summary: My bill is now double of what I actually owe them and it will continue to increase since their owner is incredibly dodgy and provides NO way to settle up.

They have instructors who are really good at encouraging you when you're new at Pilates, and instructors who will give you the kick in the pants you need to get to the next level. They have a lot of different group classes at various times of the day. Everyone there is great about asking how you're feeling and helping you adapt to any injuries or problems you have. Good form and not getting injured is a big focus for them, which I really appreciate. I sometimes do pilates in other cities when I travel, and it always reminds me how lucky we are to have Pure in Asheville.

Thanks to the phenomenal instruction offered by Meagan and Penelope, I'm a Pilates practitioner for life. This was the first fitness facility that I've ever belonged to that's people oriented through and through--they educate, empower, and inspire their clients to reach to their full potential. That's so important to someone like me who is passionate about getting the most longevity with my body mechanics. It's not a show you once and then just push you to do it faster kind of place. It's a do it smart do it right. That alone deserves so much respect. The work outs are fun, the music is great, and not so loud I can't hear the instructor. Most impressively I feel my back muscles getting stronger like nothing has ever worked them before. I felt gains in my stamina and core strength within the first few classes.
