I didn't think anything of it and made the purchase but after I spoke to my mother in law, who is Korean, she said that the owner upsold me and declined the buy one get one free because I am not Korean. Which kinda sucked.

It made more send for me to get a set if I was going to pay the same amount for one product. When I got to the register I thought I was paying for the same amount she had said, but instead it was triple the price and she refused to refund. Weirdly I never got my receipt. The person who works on Thursday was very pushy and kept pushing stuff on me. My Korean isn't good so I had a hard time pushing back. It was borderline making me feel bad that I was a certain age that I should be buying a certain line of product. Everything extremely marked up here as well. I had a few good experiences before with another lady but after this experience I will never be returning. I felt taken advantage of.

Located across from the HMart, they have a bunch of displays around toys and cosmetic products, with a jarring side-by-side display (do all shopping for cosmetics like cute toys? Maybe.) Prices are high for toys but I suspect all are imported in (thanks for tariffs!). Cosmetics brands and types seem to focus more on the East Asian customers.

However, they kept rejecting me to use the card everytime I visited to purchase saying that you can use it next time---either since I mentioned it too late or they're busy. So this time I remembered it to say ahead that I have a gift card and she said, they have changed the system and it cannot read any information on my card. Now I can't remember how much I have in my card. All I recall is that I have some money. The poor lady at the desk was trying hard to find out. She was just told to say there's nothing she could do about it since the system has changed. The owner in the phone sounded like she was trying to neglect the issue and expecting me to disappear with my OLD gift card. I am very disappointed on how they handle the issue like this. The lady at the desk was kind but again, she has no power to adjust any disfunctional matter like this. I thought it was a big company but the store ownership is run in an old Korean way!
