Dilworth means well and the community is great but they are very sadly deceived in their beliefs…read moreabout how to fix the problem of substance abuse. Unfortunately for me, this program was a gigantic waste of time and money and I would strongly recommend that anyone encountering a substance use problem stay as far away as possible. They teach the core tenets of A.A and these beliefs (from the 1950s) have been factually disproven. Dilworth is doing tons of vulnerable people a MAJOR disservice in giving them false information about this problem. Specifically, I am referencing these claims: You are powerless (Really meaning you have no self control and you never will have an ability to moderate your drinking) You have a chronic disease that is incurable. Meeting makers "make it" You are a drink away from disaster All of this is hogwash. Your beliefs matter tremendously when it comes to getting better. If you believe you are a drink away from "Death, Jails, and Institutions", then that will be the case. If you believe you have self control, then you will have self control. Here are some things to consider: More than 90% of heavy alcohol abusers eventually quit or moderate, most without formal help. This statistic cites a nationally representative study estimating lifetime remission from alcohol dependence at 90.6%. It also cites data from Dawson's showing that, among people with prior alcohol dependence, 49.9% were drinking without current abuse or dependence and 22.3% were abstinent. The core empirical point is very strong: Most people who become dependent eventually cease being dependent. Most accomplish that without formal treatment. Abstinence is NOT the only observed outcome. The claim that an "alcoholic" is permanently powerless is flatly inconsistent with population data. Why, then, does society still push AA, rehab and lifelong "recovery"? A huge part of it is institutional inertia. AA became culturally dominant before good population-level research existed. Treatment centers then absorbed its assumptions: incurable disease, powerlessness, lifelong vigilance, relapse always waiting. Families are frightened and want a visible intervention. Doctors want something concrete to prescribe. Courts and employers want a compliance mechanism. Rehab companies have an obvious financial interest in portraying treatment as necessary. Once that whole ecosystem existed, people who succeeded inside it were displayed as proof, while the much larger population who quietly changed on their own remained invisible. There's also a massive confusion between medical stabilization and solving the preference for heavy drinking. Medical detox can genuinely save someone from seizures or delirium during dangerous withdrawal. A protected environment can temporarily keep someone alive. But that does not mean 28 days in rehab, meetings forever, or adopting an alcoholic identity changes what someone believes alcohol does for them. Problematic drinking is a LEARNED behavior. Behaviors and habits can change. You get into this with your mind and you also get out of it with your mind. Specifically, you get out of it by GENUINELY having a preference change for not getting high or drunk. It's not so black and white. You do not get sober because you attend 7 meetings a week in a brainwashed cult....mind you...who's core founder asked for alcohol on his death bed...... Why are we mistakenly giving A.A the credit for sobriety when the DECISION was made by the individual to change their behavior and go in the first place? It's utter nonsense. If you find value in community and can live with the false identity of being an alcoholic for the rest of your life, then by all means go to Dilworth and go to A.A, let your dependency to be sober be tied to that and live the rest of your life "recovering" from a problem that you never actually "recover" from. Spend your valuable time dealing with repetitive meetings, sponsors, and doing a whole bunch of other useless activities and missing the entire point of the problem. The problem for anyone is that for whatever reason, they developed an extremely strong preference for getting high and drunk. "Recovery" does not and will never solve this problem. It may get the abuse to stop, but you'll never truly be able to move on. Common sense says that tying your sobriety to anything other than yourself is foolish. If you want to truly understand what you're dealing with, I would recommend reading the freedom model for addictions by Mark Scheeren, Steven Slate, and Michelle Dunbar. The contents of this book are all you need to move on from this problem without ANY dependence on "recovery". Sadly, places like Dilworth miss the point and it's extremely simple. Figure out how to change your preference for problematic drinking and then STOP, because you DO have self control. Anywhere that tells you that you don't has no business trying to help people with this problem.

I do not know why so many people give this a one star rating. It seems to me as though others that left a negative review had their own issue, putting them off on Thriveworks. I have had no issues with payments, the billing department, my therapist, nor the company itself. I would definitely give this place a try and not look at the negative reviews!

This is the second or third time I've been notified of a high balance even though I'm supposed to be on autopay. No, there's nothing wrong with the card they have on file. I do not receive invoices until the balance is huge. I'm supposed to be on a payment plan that started on 10/11/23 to bring down the high balance (even though it never should have accrued because I am on AUTOPAY) and they've messed that up too. Now I've got a balance of over $500 that I THOUGHT I was paying down but apparently not. They also did take one payment of $131 as part of the pay down and there is no record of it in my transaction history... but it's on my credit card. Again -- love my therapist but this is utterly unacceptable.

And let me say -- we've lived across the country, I've gotten this birthday gift for years. This massage from Cara was THEE BEST massage I've ever had. I can't fathom her knowledge base that allows her to work on the body the way she does. I left an entirely different person than when I arrived. The truth is that to get the full benefit of the massage, it will take multiple sessions, so I need to come back ASAP, because that it not a downside, it's a BLESSING. Great company, great people. Charlotte's best!

I consulted a handful of naturopathic doctors before I chose one, but nobody compared to Dr. Leander. She has literally saved my life! At least, it sure feels that way! When I came to Dr. Leander, I was having terrible pain in my gut. I became bloated, lost all my energy, and was so weak I could barley move. I went to a gut specialist medical doctor, before I found Dr. Leander. This "gut specialist" gave me 20 seconds of his time, cut me off, and then prescribed me a pill to take. When I asked why I was taking this medication, his exact words were, "This pill is $1200, a pill that expensive is bound to work." I went home and did some research, discovering that this pill was known to cause immobility, cancer, and could destroy the lining in your stomach permanently. I called him 4 times to address this. When he finally got back to me, I asked him why he didn't tell me how bad this pill was for my body long term. His words were..."You didn't ask what bad stuff it would do." WHAT? So it's the patient's job now to stay on top of doctor's about being ethical? Needless to say, I knew it was time to consult a Naturopathic Doctor, somebody that takes preventive measures to cure people, instead of prescribing damaging medicine. This is when I found Dr. Leander!! She gave me her undivided attention, listened, and got me on a plan that cured my gut pain and symptoms in 2 weeks without any long-term damaging side effects! How do she do it? With oregano oil and a diet of no gluten. Dr. Leander found the root cause of my pain (stress, exhaustion, and a diet that needed to be changed because certain foods were causing my gut to be inflamed), and I have not had gut pain since! I have since consulted Dr. Leander about a handful of things. She has helped cure my crippling period cramps and taught me how to find more energy throughout the day. In addition, I LOVE her office! She has created a beautiful space that is inviting and peaceful. The team at IVY Integrative is top notch too. They are full of passion and truly love what they do! Since I have been a patient of Dr. Leander, I haven't felt so good in years! I have already referred 3 of my friends to her because Dr. Leander truly cares about people's health and seeing them feel better!

The group bootcamp classes are 30 minutes, and are offered Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. You may think, "That's it, 30 minutes?"...but at the end end of class when you're laid out on the floor gasping for breath, you'll be thankful it was only 30 minutes! Holly is in charge of the program, and does an excellent job. She keeps her class sizes small, so she's really able to give each individual any needed attention. One of my favorite things about the class is the variety.
