I knew it was time to finally see what I have been missing all these years. And, sure enough, I have been missing out big time! Right from the time I entered the building, Mandi was very professional, welcoming and put me at ease. The entire massage experience and ambiance was fantastic. The room was lovely, the bed was perfectly cozy, the music was so soothing, and Mandi even added some lavender aroma therapy that I loved (she asked me if I would like some). Not only was the environment perfect, Mandi's massage was incredible. She was very responsive to my preferences and specific needs. Since this was my first massage, I opted for a light to medium pressure massage. This was perfect for me. I was so relaxed and whatever area Mandi was working on felt soooooo good. She spent extra time where needed, but managed a full body massage in 60 minutes. During my massage, I really wished I had booked a 90 minute! Next time! I can't speak highly enough of the ashiatsu massage, had always gotten swedish or deep tissue on the past which was good, but this was on a whole different level in terms of the type of pressure she was able to apply. She took me to a fairly large room that could have had three clients, but it was just for me to enjoy - at least that day! She started by asking me quite a few questions about my daily haircare and goals for the cut and deep conditioning treatment I requested. She listened. After a lovely wash and sit with the conditioner, where I enjoyed the peace of that lovely room, she came back and gave me the perfect haircut. She didn't try to do anything extra; she didn't try to offer me a bunch of product; she listened to my request, and made it happen. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm looking forward to pre-vacation manicures and pedicures with my partner in a couple of weeks. Also, I liked their online scheduling system. When I asked the masseuse to stop my massage, I was offered ear plugs and asked if I knew how to meditate to drown out the noise. It was the first massage in 30 plus years that I had ever been offered ear plugs. The total disregard for my experience was beyond disappointing. I did speak with the manager the following Monday and was offered a rebate of 40%. I was also told that the rooms are not soundproof. I never expected them to be. I cannot in good conscience recommend this spa and will not return.
