I'm not a regular patient of the good Dr. Buxton, or maybe better to say i'm not a very frequent…read morepatient of his. like once every five or eight years i'll schedule an appointment, after i've seen the half dozen other physicians on my list. i sometimes visit these people just to reassure myself, again, that at worst i'm merely an unremarkable example of one battling the long term side effects of frenzomethocarbolism, a condition i just named to describe the syndrome afflicting once and former speedfreaks. this is not to say, though frankly i do suspect it's so, that i'm in fact a boring and uninteresting patient, professionally speaking. "are you off your nut or what? you need to stop worrying about this." one of my docs once scolded, "you're what some of us call the worried well. just be grateful there's nothing really wrong with you." this of course only caused me to worry what serious prognosis it was he was keeping from me, i mean after all why would he waste his time with a person who had nothing working against him but his imagination? one can't help thinking that surely there's something lurking in there waiting for the right moment to drop that first shoe. (now can we please proceed on a more serious note?) Dr. Buxton is a first rate endocrinologist. He not only addresses the immediate condition of concern, in my case glycated hemoglobin, but relates this to results of tests that indirectly relate to the primary physiology involved. providing in my case, and if you will, a kind of universal field theory of my moderately elevated blood sugar. this last is nothing to make light of, as it can be a very serious condition for some, especially those born into it. but for me i believe this particular issue is just one of several self-inflicted maladies of a self-indulgent lifestyle, enhanced in my case from early career years when i made a living drinking on the job as a winemaker. fortunately i seem to be okay, for now, but will watch things and look forward to a return engagement with Dr. Buxton, who is not only highly capable in his field, but also an interesting guy to talk to. the only downside being it does take awhile to get to see him as he seems to have quite a lot of patients, go figure.

Dr. Buxton is very charming. He is willing to try unusual thyroid treatments if the regular ones…read moredon't work. In person he seems as though he wants to help you. However: 1. Coding errors are common so that your insurance charges you when they should not have. You have to deal with Dr. Buxton's office and the insurance company. It is hard to say who is least interested, Dr. Buxton's office or the insurance company in helping you solve the problem. A headache. 2. He does NOT take Medicare. You have to pay up front, then try to get Medicare to reimburse you. Another headache. 3. You can talk with him ONLY during appointments. No email, no phone calls are allowed. You can send a message through the office staff, they will ask him (sometimes), and get back to you, often with a reply that does NOT answer your question. If you have a problem that throws your medication off, you cannot get answers, and it takes, sometimes months, to get an appointment in person, while you are left wondering what to do. Another headache. 4. If he is unable to help you, instead of suggesting another physician, he will just refuse to see you again. Another headache. 5. If his treatments don't work, he will blame you. Another headache. 6. He seems to listen to you during appointments, but, I got his records pertaining to me, and they show he did not listen. Disappointing. Another headache. 7. His records reflect his worry about liability, so they are inaccurate. For example, he stated he told me to get a second opinion. Nope; never happened. Get your records so you can try to correct them. Another headache. 8. Perhaps because he isn't connected with any medical group, he isn't able to see the whole picture of your health so he can suggest another way to help you. Because of his the quality of his care is very compromised. You are on your own. Another headache.

This is an overdue review. I saw Dr. Raphael during the pandemic. She was my first naturopathic…read moredoctor and the first doctor I had seen completely virtually. She took detailed information and concerns of mine. She was able to put in bloodwork I needed to the lab but I was able to take her recommended lab work to have my doctor put it in so that some of the lab work would be covered by insurance. The lab work is much more extensive than the basic lab work your traditional doctor does for you. Her lab work was able to have her give you recommendations on supplements and diet. The lab work is an eye opener to seeing how unbalanced my body was. Just before having the vaccine, she instructed me on what tinctures to take prior to having the vaccine so that wouldn't have any or mild side effects. The first two vaccines I took the tinctures and I barely had any symptoms. When the booster came out and I completely forgot about taking the tinctures, I had a headache and was tired for two days. I won't forget to take this going forward now. If you're looking for a naturopathic doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Kizzy Raphael where ever you are located. She does a wonderful job working with patients virtually. Her attention to detail and her eagerness to want to resolve your health issues makes her a vital part of your wellbeing.

Dr. Kizzy has helped me obtain a quality of life I didn't think was possible. I had lost faith in…read moretraditional doctors, having been told countless times from more doctors than I can remember that "I'm fine". I'd been through Kaiser, PAMF, Sutter Health; nobody would listen and nobody would help. I felt so hopeless, defeated and truly sick. I was experiencing debilitating fatigue, excruciating pain in my tailbone, extreme nausea, issues with overactive bladder, blood in my stool, a swollen abdomen, weight that I couldn't lose no matter what I tried ...the list goes on. Every day was a struggle and every day I felt so unwell, and there was no explanation. The nausea has been affecting me for over 30 years. The final straw that pushed me to find help outside of what my insurance would cover, was testing positive for colon cancer at 46. I didn't really have the money to seek alternative care, but feeling like I was on the brink of death motivated me to reprioritize my life and figure it out. I found Dr. Kizzy out of sheer desperation. I chose her because of the reviews I read. I could write pages and pages about how wonderful she is, but to summarize, I feel amazing! I don't have colon cancer. I was completely misdiagnosed by Kaiser. They kept running the same tests over and over. They refused to deviate and expand the parameters of their testing even though I wasn't getting better. They told me my ailments were all in my head. Dr. Kizzy was able to determine I had SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth), H.pylori (very common, from food poisoning) and that my adrenal gland function was extremely low. I've been a patient of Dr. Kizzy for a little over a year now and for the first time in my entire life, I'm ok. I will be forever grateful for her help! She actually listened and cared. · Debilitating Fatigue - Dr. Kizzy treated my adrenal gland function, and I have so much energy now! · Excruciating Tailbone Pain - It was from chronic stress, which led to pressure and muscle tension in my pelvic floor muscles. She recommended an amazing therapist (Taryn Weinkam, PhD) who helped me release the trauma I've been holding onto for so many years. My pain is gone! · Overactive Bladder - It was my body's response to being in a constant state of "fight or flight". The therapy helped with this as well, it's no longer an issue. · Extreme Nausea - It was from H.pylori. Nausea is one of the main symptoms. If Kaiser or Sutter had run a simple test, this could have been diagnosed decades ago. My nausea is completely gone. · Swollen Abdomen & Bloody Stool - Both of these were from SIBO and both are no longer present. · Excess Weight - SIBO contributed to this, but so did the feeling of hopelessness. I credit both Dr. Kizzy and therapy. Our bodies react to our mental state. I've dropped 30 lbs and fit back into clothes I never thought I'd be able to wear again. There is really something to that whole "mind, body, spirit" thing. I highly recommend Dr. Kizzy!

Dr. Fox is caring and kind and wants her patients to succeed. She is easy to talk to about seemingly difficult medical subjects, and will spend time to understand and get the care you need. I thought I was just getting acupuncture when I signed up, but what a pleasant surprise that she also has helped me manage a supplement routine to balance my hormones, as well as sold me equipment and videos for doing TENS and LED treatments at home. I know that when I eventually try to conceive, I will have Dr. Fox to thank for her detail-oriented treatment and listening to my every need. I have already had tremendous results since seeing her and now look forward to my appointments.

I knew that things didn't feel right in my body, and I had also recently broken my foot. I was stomping on a box and my foot just snapped. It should not have broken that easily, something was wrong. Susan listened to my symptoms, educated me on a lot, and suggested some amazing supplements. She was particularly alarmed about the break and suggested that I get a bone density scan. She was THE ONLY person who was concerned and wanted me to push further. My podiatrist and my primary brushed it off, and I had to fight to get the scan. Well, it turns out that I have osteoporosis! Thank you, Susan! This is a perfect example of how typical Western medicine can fall short, but a skilled and attentive alternative practitioner can make all the difference. Susan is incredibly gifted, kind, brilliantly smart, and truly a lifesaver. Thank you again, Susan!

So far only three stars though she is pleasant enough. She has not helped me yet and I don't know…read morethat she will as she is not thinking outside the box but just trying to put me in one.. Still, she gave me another appointment to talk about it more so we'll see. Meanwhile, Sutter, itself, is a nightmare to deal with ; the appt people can't schedule procedures, the office does not call you or respond to messages when the doctor says , you will sometimes wait endlessly to talk to the appt people who don't know how to set up procedures. Its impossible to schedule a procedure. About 2 weeks after starting to try to schedule the appt the doctor I got a a message on my health that asks me what days of the week are good. My message had said every week is different for me so I cannot give you a day that is good every week, please tell me open appointments. So reading, getting the doctor on my health because she had not been put on my account, ( thats why I did not use it to begin with, and then when she is on, I get a message showing that they did not actually read mine. Wow. Sutter has destroyed the CPMC system. I had turned to CPMC originally because UCSF was impossible. Now Sutter is garbage. I really hope Dr Weinberg is worth the trouble of dealing with Sutter. So far, not but I will update. . I wish there were an endocrinologist that took patients who use the affordable care blue shield. I am stuck with sutter and UCSF because many doctors are so greedy they won't accept affordable care act insurance . Again, I will come back again regarding the effectiveness of Dr Weinberg, herself.
