Last year, Cindi helped me avoid rotator cuff surgery, and for the past 5 months for lower back issues, pre-hab before and post PT after a knee replacement. (not an easy recovery). Cindi and her staff are compassionate, positive, kind, professional and really know their stuff! Whenever I was feeling frustrated with my knee recovery, Cindi and Megan always had the answer, they knew how to make me feel better and had the skills and knowledge to keep me motivated and progressing. They were almost as excited as I was when I hit milestones! I am 9 weeks out and just walked 2 miles with no pain! At approximately 25 weeks pregnant, I began to suffer from debilitating back and groin pain...I currently live in Astoria, Queens, so Cindi's office isn't around the corner anymore for me. It didn't matter, I would travel to see her. The same day I let Cindi know about my pain she told me she would see me that evening if I could get there. Throughout my pain, Cindi never jumped to conclusions on what was causing it, such as, "its the position of the baby, it will pass". Cindi treated my pain and helped me feel as comfortable as possible during an incredibly sensitive time in my life. I met Cindi over 15 years ago and since then she has treated both my Mom and Dad as well for other pains. Dr. Belmonte is incredibly knowledgeable and has great bed side manner. When I first came in I could barely move my neck. The day I called, Jonathan Belmonte DPT answered the phone, and assured me that I would receive an appointment that week. I instantly knew that this was going to be a different experience. It was extremely refreshing to see how this practice approaches caring for their patients. Similar some of the places that I have been to, there is a single common room and a private exam room (s). However, the large common room has huge wall-to-wall windows with lots of sunlight. There is no scrambling, exasperated "door-open-door-shut" routine. I received friendly, up to date and compassionate care from very attentive therapists and staff. If at any point I had a question, required direction or was ready to move on to another exercise; a therapist or a staff member was always available and immediately provided care. In my experience other PT offices confine patients in small rooms where they spend most of their visit waiting as the therapist scrambles in and out in an attempt to juggle several patients simultaneously. It is indifferent, assembly-line therapy at best. They even sent me a personalized video of the exercises that I was to perform at home. Having a video was crucial to my recovery. I was able watch it repeatedly so I could do the prescribed exercises correctly. Lastly, there administrative staff is amazing. They make sure that all your paperwork is in place so that your insurance covers the visits. I was always kept informed of any changes and getting an appointment was effortless

After I complained ( courteously) that I had been left in an exam room to be seen for 45 minutes (!) finally the PA came to se me. She spoke quickly and curtly. She said she would send my scripts to pharmacy. She did not. She told me to wait on a very long line to get an appointment for December. I left and will make it by phone if I do. The thought of going back to that office is a complete turn off. when I suggested that the wait time in exam room was excessive, PA told me that they had a lot of patients! I was going to say that that is why we have APPOINTMENTS, but didn't wish to continue this very unfruitful discussion.
