He loved it, but I had to help him eat it, as we didn't want to leave any of it behind. I had a few mussels the first time in my life and they tasted great. I've not had any mussels since, for fear they wont be near as nice. If I am ever back in the area I am going to make sure we get back to Britannia Shell Fish for some yummy seafood. The guy serving us was a nice rocker dude, who chatted to my partner about the rock tee shirt he was wearing. Turned out, he had been to same rock festival that year. For the mains I opted for the Risotto of Summer with Parmesan Crisps and my partner the L.A.B. Tiger Prawn & Spiced Monkfish Curry. I loved the risotto, it was full of crunchy green vegetables and the risotto was a lovely creamy consistency. I would recommend it. My partner really enjoyed his curry and thought it was top notch for a restaurant that wasn't a curry house. We ordered the San Antonio Pinot Grigio, which was a grand wine to go with our meal. It was £12.50 For dessert we both ordered the Chocolate Fondant. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate ganache truffle. The fondant was fine, nothing to write home about and we both have had much better. The ice cream went with it perfectly though. However the ganache was too much with the fondant. It was just too much chocolate and cocoa for one dessert. The staff amused me. They appeared to be all young hip surfer types working for the summer in the ideal location for their outdoor pursuits. With a party arranged that night , I phoned Cornwall Fishmongers ( answer phone to say closed until Monday ) . I phoned the delivery company - also closed ! My message on the answer phone was returned on Monday by an employee who started out by laughingly referring me to google maps ,! - I was furious , as he clearly wasn't taking my situation seriously - and trying to make light of it . I interrupted him to say , I wasn't interested in excuses , and with no apology forthcoming I said I wanted to know how they were going to put things right .
