Dread filled my mind as I know that Ocracoke does not have a large contingent of auto-repair shops or dealerships. I asked the Ferry attendant who he would recommend on the Island and he said "Jimmy's Garage". I stopped by after unpacking the car and getting the family settled. The very nice lady in the front office told me that her husband and son JImmy do the repairs and that if it would be a simple repair that wouldn't take too much time they could handle. But, if it were a more extensive repair like an intake gasket or other major engine work they would have to refer me to a shop over on Hatteras Island. I dropped off the car and they said they would let me know in a few hours what the situation looked like. I stopped by after lunch and was told it was a water pump and that she had already ordered the correct part and they would have it completed by end of the next day. I showed up the end of the next day and it was done and at a very reasonable price. Great service. Great Price. I would not hesitate to have them work on my car ever.
