For as long as I've been taking my boys to Shane he's been located on Holmes street in downtown mystic, and that will continue to remain the same (thankfully). He also has amazing hours and can be booked for weeks ahead of time using the Booksy app. This makes things super easy when you're juggling scheduling multiple haircuts, and rarely have to wait. Some old school vibe shops are walk in only, which provides an entirely different experience and is meant for folk that have a lot more time on their hands and should also have many chairs available to choose from. Right now and for the forseeabke future Shane is a one man band and does not have additional chairs rented to other barbers. With that said, his haircuts are always super crispy and the kids say how fresh they look. The guy is packed with good technique and an amazing personality. He ended up shaving my head and with a laugh told me there would be no charge. I was getting a fresh cut because one of the folks working for me was retiring after 30 years - now I had to stand in front of them looking like I just got released from county. Tim shaves his head - should have been signal #1 and watches a second TV (different than waiting customers) while cutting - signal #2. What I didn't appreciate is he made a mistake first and then shaved my head - he never owned it and didn't give ME the choice of what to do. I won't be back - ever.

The quality and speed of the cut is highly dependent on who happens to do yours. I've had to trim my bangs after getting home at least a couple times, despite very carefully telling them how I wanted it cut. But, I keep going there for the convenient location. Make sure to look very carefully at your cut BEFORE getting out of the chair. Your wait time can be rather long when only one barber is on duty. Parking spots are in short supply when they're busy.
