In 2015 H.A.L.O. opened H.A.L.O.'s Rescued Treasures with all proceeds going to help the animals. This thrift store has several rooms of gently used home goods, toys, clothing, accessories, holiday decorations, linens, pet supplies, and more. Everything I saw was well priced and additional sales during my visit offered an extra 20 percent off handbags and wallets and 20 percent of pants, shorts, and skirts. A sign requesting people to remain dressed in the clothing room cracked me up. Know you are on camera so keep those clothes on. It is not a dressing room. She created the Tambourine Resale Shop to fund her mission. The Tambourine Resale Shops sells donated nearly new and gently used items that include housewares, women's and men's clothing, accessories, furniture, jewelry, art and antiques. Over 40 volunteers staff the store. This year they are celebrating their 45th anniversary. The store is very neat and attractively organized. The clothing area is set up like a boutique with brand name clothes, some luxury. There is a dressing room area where you can try on. Prices seemed reasonable but always do your research. For even more thrifting fun, the Women's Refuge thrift store is right next door. Proceeds from this shop have been helping the community for over 40 years so you can feel good about donating to and shopping at the Tambourine Resale Shop.

When it was built it was at the intersection of then Osceola Blvd. and Seminole Ave. In 1914 it was Farmer's Bank but the bank failed in the Great Depression. It then became the Indian River Citrus Bank. In 1983, the buildings were sold to The Vero Furniture Mart. In 2020 the building was sold once again and it is now Vintage Vero, a consignment store/ antique mall with 18 different dealers. There are multiple rooms of furniture, art, collectibles, ceramics, home goods. There is even a room with clothing and jewelry. My favorites were a chrome raindrop mirror, alligator magnifying glass, and mid century patio set. Prices arranged from under a hundred to many thousands of dollars. There is a lot to look at and the owners sweetly let me take my time.

They have lived in Fellsmere for 28 years. The gift shop is in a historic 1913 building that used to be the survey office for people buying land in Fellsmere during the land boom. The name of the shop reflects the history of Fellsmere. In the 1900's the street were named for the ditches in the town. The shop is located on Ditch 13. Greeting you in front of the store is a live parrot. Hanging out front were the most amazing bird feeders made out of recycled tires. The inside of the story carried beautiful jewelry, paintings, and crafts made by local artists. They also had a great selection of books by local authors related to the history and nature of the area. The lady operating the store was so friendly and gave me a brief history of Fellsmere. The store was getting ready to close but I definitely want to visit again when I have more time and money. This little store is a Fellsmere gem.
