Overall very bad experience. In last four years they changed management about 5 times and managers are not helpful or unavailable. Numerous problems with excessive noise, false fire alarms, the no pet building is full of pets, barking and pet bird noise late at night, water leaking from ceilings and walls in garage, garage door frequently broken and left open with no security, elevators frequently break down, insects, dog urine in elevators, hallway and lobby. We finally moved as we could not take it anymore and BLT has kept and not returned our rental deposit even though there was no damage at all. I would not recommend Beacon Harbor Point for any rental. You can find a better managed building and landlord elsewhere. read more

In Jan/Feb 2019, my wife and I were tired of city life and wanted to settle in a place away from the concrete jungle. Knowing we were going to be short-term tenants, I searched for a community in the Stamford area that would provide a healthy living environment and fulfill our short-term living requirement. The Beacon hit all our wants and needs. We moved into the Beacon in Feb 2019 and even though our stay was short, we loved every day spent in and around this community. The staff at this place was Incredible. I want to acknowledge those that made our stay so welcoming- individuals like the community manager, Mario, Michelle at the front desk, the women working in the leasing office, the maintenance and cleaning staff and others- all who contributed to our awesome experience at the Beacon. Mario and his team made us genuinely feel like we were part of a family and were always there to help us when we needed something. When Mario arrived earlier this year, he made it a priority to meet his tenants, scheduling community gatherings that brought tenants and staff together. After a long day in NYC, I would walk through the front doors, and staff always provided a warm welcome home. It was a great experience here and we'd stay longer if we were not taking care of a recent injury and arranging a relocation. Senior management should be proud of the staff and management team at this building. Location is key too- on the water, close to stores, and a walk to the train station. Events by the Harbor and great area to walk your dog. Hop in your car and head down the road a few exits to Whole Foods in Darien, get some good eats in Norwalk, or stay in Stamford and you'll find some good eats there too! If you're looking for a great place in Stamford to call home, I highly encourage you to check this place out! read more

Living in the apartment aside, dealing with the management team is pretty brutal. I moved out months ago and have yet to receive my security deposit back. The office told me I'd receive it within a couple of weeks from my departure and still nothing. They have gone completely radio silent after multiple calls and emails (even talked to corporate who has done nothing). Really bad experience and for this reason alone wouldn't suggest this place. read more

The Beacon at Harbor Point is beautiful - except for the construction. We were told by the sales staff that construction would be limited to the existing building site (not in our direct line of sight). This was not correct - now we have privacy issues and a huge crane blocking our view. We only wish they had been more honest with us from the beginning. read more

I have lived in Stamford for six years, and have lived in many of the buildings. This by far is the best of the best. They attention to detail is amazing. From when you walk in, to when you get into your actual apartment. The staff is amazing, Edy and Michelle made our lease signing seamless. Any issues upon moving in, they quickly rectified. The concierge staff are so friendly, they seem to know everyone by first and last name. Even our dogs name! They even give him treats, so I know Max is a fan too :) Our apartment is beautiful. It's so tranquil and I feel I am on a resort everyday. We are lucky to not face any of the bars, so I can't personally address what others have said. The appliances in the kitchen are greAt. My only thing I can say is for the price I was they had better light fixtures and better showers. It's not cheap, and you can see they paid attention to detail in the kitchen, but not on lights and bathrooms. Otherwise the Beacon would be solid 5 stars. read more

Extremely unprofessional leasing staff. They don't return phone calls. They don't show up on time to show an apartment. We waited over an hour at The Beacon along with 4 other people to view apartments. Kiana, the leasing person, never showed up. Most people left. They had to bring someone else to show the apartments. Filled out appplication only to be told they couldn't do anything and we had to wait until Sebastian another bright spark leasing agent returned from vacation 9 days later. During that time we received a phone call from Beacon leasing asking for our cars make and model and license plates for them to give us a fob. We are now thinking ok it's a done deal. Only to call back the next day with an update and be told by Kiana that no one called us asking for car details. You can't make this stuff up. 9 days pass. We reach out to Sebastian twice and received no response. Instead at the end of day at 5pm we receive an email from Randy another rocket scientist who works as a leasing agent at Allure to tell us that Sebastian doesn't handle anything from Beacon or anything else for that matter....and that we don't have the apartment. Not a professional response or explanation from anyone. Then we were told our deposit of $1600 would be reimbursed in 30 days. 30 Days for an apartment that is not available. Deposits on credit cards are usually refunded via credit card refund and not via check as we were told. We have never encountered such unprofessional behavior from any other leasing company as we have with these three individuals. In addition when Randy was showing us a few apartments that were located on the ground floor, he thought it was a good idea to tell us that we could exercise our second amendment rights and carry firearms in the building for safety. Is this what they are told to say to prospective residents? Who is training these people? Greatly disappointed. Rent elsewhere. There are many great places in Stamford to rent where the management team and the leasing staff have IQs above carpet fibers. read more

my husband and I have been living in the beacon since april 2021 and our experience could not be worse. the sign of the whale is right across the street and the music from the bar blasts every.single.night. we are so miserable here and building management will do nothing even though BLT owns both buildings and rents to sign of the whale. we have complained SO MANY TIMES. we call the police nearly every night and i've even reached out to our district representatives who also say 'nothing can be done, keep calling the police'. it's really upsetting that this is how tax dollars are spent with police monitoring a bar's noise level nightly and several times a night. it's even more upsetting to pay the price in rent we do for a 'luxury' building and to endure this noise. we are counting down the days until our lease is up and we can move. read more

Amazing staff. Great overall building - amenities are always clean and well kept. Not overcrowded. Ample kitchen and closet space, and definitely the best fixtures/appliances in harbor point. The only draw back is the construction, and sign of the whale music (which really isn't bad) in the summer. read more

Four towers going up in front - noise begins at 7 AM often six days a week. And on the seventh day you have the noise from Sign of the Whale - until 2 AM on the roof Thursday to Sunday all summer, beginning at 10 AM when the need to power wash the roof every day. If you are on the other side, it is the noise from The Crab Shell, with the echos only worse with the new towers going up, which will also block what were amazing views. The only positive is the front desk staff - awesome, especially compared to their management, and there is no inside noise from other apartments, although the outside more than makes up for that. Apartments are notorious for window leaks. BLT puts this out as their top end building. Seriously? read more

I am a current residence at the Beacon Harbor Point, and while the apartments and amenities are just gorgeous, you can't always judge a book by its cover. It may seem like the right place to live but if you want quite comfortable living i am telling you the honest truth, look elsewhere. I'll start with the many new construction issues. There are many issues, not just a few and some are deemed unfix-able which is why we have to leave the apartment we have been living in for the last 5 months. The unfix-able issue is through their vent system. This isn't just our apartment, this is the entire building (we have been in other apartments where we and their staff have heard the noise) including the hallways. In our apartment we do not sleep because of the metal on metal vents banging against each other due to even the littlest amount of wind, and remember this building is on the water so wind is a normal occurrence here. After 5 long months of sleepless nights, many in face meetings with management, emails and phone calls this has been just recently been deemed UNFIX-ABLE by the Beacon team. The hallway ventilation also have issues, if windy enough a whistle type noise is present and loud enough to sound like a fired up tea kettle ready to explode - i dare you to try and sleep. Again this is a major fix and while i'm not sure its something even being worked it should be on the top of their priority list. It's out of control loud and my guess will also be deemed as unfix-able. I believe the management company needs to get a second opinion with another contractor - these types of items CAN be fixed i just don't think 1. they want to spend the money or 2. the contractors are just lazy. If you are under the age of 25 living in this very "urban" lifestyle may suit you but for us in our mid-thirties it doesn't. I had no idea Sign of the Whale was a full blown night club until we were already moved in. I am not from this area and did not know this restaurant converted to a place where shot girls and DJ's were the life of the party. If you want to sleep any time before 2am on a Friday or Saturday - THINK AGAIN! I am commenting on the loud music and ridiculous drunk people leaving the club, the "oh so cool guys" revving up their motorcycles to drive home drunk at 2am and this is all in the middle of winter! Just imagine this place with a full blown roof top open in the summer - if you can avoid it then i would strongly advise you to stay away. They can offer you an apartment in the other tower but then you need to worry about Paloma and Crab Shell across the water, yes you can hear their music at the Beacon. The management can only offer to you one solution, call the non-emergency line for the Stamford Police, and we do but we have gotten absolutely nowhere with it. The Beacon provides you with a garage parking spot however the garage is 5 days out of 7 days flooded. Emails go out on a weekly basis to advise you to "avoid" certain areas as they are practically under water. It's nice to not have to clean snow off your car in the winter but when it rains it rains in the garage too, what a joke! For the most part the front desk staff have been outstanding, i did have an issue with one front desk associate on a night there was a tremendous amount of noise, where he even felt it necessary to screen my calls and answer the phone with a snotty "hello". I was shocked because the service in this area has always been top notch. I even had to ask was this the Beacon front desk? He replied "yea i just knew it was you"? Seriously? I pay the rent on time in full each month even with the Beacon unable to meet their side of a dual signed contract and yet this is the treatment i receive? We are leaving so at this point i feel it not even necessary to contact management anymore to express my dis-satisfaction. I'll leave you with this. I selected a beautiful apartment in a new luxury building paying TOP MARKET PRICING to incur sleepless nights that are beyond stressful and a Beacon team who CANT do anything about it. They offered us another apartment in their messed up building for MORE MONEY than we are already paying, really helpful right? We decided to take a transfer to another BLT building so we didn't have to pay for additional application/administration fees for the approval process. We do however have to pay to move again, truck boxes days off work many weeks of re-organizing etc and the Beacon has offered us nothing in return as far as compensation. Nothing, nothing for 5 months of sleepless nights, nothing for the aggravation and looking for countless hours for another place to live and nothing to get us to the new place. I am a big fan of the Beacon and the community that BLT has created. This has become an amazing area of Stamford. It has the feel of a vacation area, with a simple walk to the Train station. With a mixture of all ages of residents, and many cute dogs, everyone seems to be very happy at The Beacon, Harbor Point. I am a resident of the Beacon. this is my first adjustment to apartment building living. It has been a bit of an adjustment. Coming out of a beautiful home, with a yard and space etc, this is a very new style of living. The Beacon has very cool amenities, that always give residents something to do. The gym is incredible, the pool is great, the roof top has views of the Long Island sound and NYC. The boardwalk and marina, feels like you are in FL. I love having the restaurants and amenities here. Corbo's deli, is great, to grab fast bites to eat on the go. Paloma Restaurant, is great to go for a more formal dinner with friends, and sit right on the boardwalk. The new Bear burger is about to open, and a great Lobster fun casual place will open 2016. They have even been sending a lobster food truck down on the weekends. The Sign of the Whale roof top, is a great place to relax and enjoy a beautiful night. The food at SOTW, is great, and the inside is more formal. Sunday football, seems to be building and getting exciting. We are all eagerly awaiting the grand opening of Fortina. This restaurant is going to draw a huge crowd of foodies and hipsters. All these options, add to the excitement of living here. The events in Harbor point also help to create the lively environment here. Yoga events on the boardwalk, art and craft fairs, car shows, concerts, movies in the park, running races, Equoinox Gym does Spin events on the SOTW roof, and many more cool events. Like any new construction, the building has had some issues to address. The Management of the building and Staff, always seems to promptly address these issues. They have a great notification system, that sends alerts to address anything going on in the building. The staff here, is extremely friendly and helpful. Living here, is like living in a high-end Hotel, if they only had room service..... Having the restaurants and deli near buy, make it so nice to walk and enjoy these venues. Yes on the weekends, there is excitement, people, energy, and a great city vibe, this is why people choose to live here. This is a LIVE,WORK,PLAY environment...... I highly recommend this area to anyone who is looking for this type of active, lively lifestyle. read more

We moved 3 months ago from parc grove apartments in stamford. The pricing was comparable even though the location was significantly better. We have waterfront views from every room and comparable square footage. We would have thought rent would be 5k+. The amenities are outstanding and are not used constantly by residents, so it really feels like you get your money worth. The gym is more than twice the size of a regular gym and includes several machines, freeweights and adjustable benches, much more than your typical one or two universal machines at most gyms. The study room is great if you are working from home and need to get away from your apartment if you have a little one running around like i do. The great room overlooks the water and is great if you want to have some friends over or watch the game if you don't want to mess up your apartment. The pool area has firepits and there is also a rooftop terrace which is great during the spring and summer season. The parking garage has its pro's and cons. for a little bit of a period it would get a little flooded in certain areas, but first off the parking spots cost half of what other apartments cost and also all of the spots are inside the garage (a lot of other places offer you spots outside of the building or in another garage) and there is PLENTY of parking without having to go to the second parking floor. The front desk and also the leasing desk is great. We had Michelle Ford take care of us when we came in. She is not pushy at all and takes the time to actually know about your family and things you like/dislike. Most places only deal with you when they have to, here they deal with you and talk to you because they want to, and for me that's a big difference. She even took the time to do a tour with our friends and relatives just so they could get a better feel for the place, even though they weren't potential residents, they were just curious and wanted to know more. They are great with recommendations and also setting up different events like trying out menu's at new restaurants. With a 1 year old at the house, these things are great for us to meet other neighbors. The staff is great with our son Christian and takes the time to greet him every morning and even pick him up and play with him. They really make you feel like you are a member of a community and not just a resident. We had one issue with our dishwasher (caused by our two cats putting things under the dishwasher they shouldn't have) and they were out within hours and had the issue fixed. while they were there they walked around the apartment and asked us if there was anything else. needless to say the maintenance staff impressed me because i am used to getting the "is this an emergency message" and having it done within a week, not within hours. The concierge desk not only is great at recommendations but also picks up packages for you 24 hours a day and even will accept food deliveries and store it in a fridge for you (if you do peapod, amazon fresh or freshdiet, this will appeal to you) The location is fantastic. There is new construction outside but because the building is made of concrete, we find we don't hear it at all. It is also great because you don't hear neighbors above or below you. the layout is such that its 4 apartments per floor where we live, so we think its fantastic because you aren't spending 10 minutes walking to your apartment or worried about hearing the person above you. Yes you can hear the wind sometimes when it is really windy outside, but guess what, thats what living on the water is like. I would much rather have an amazing view with great staff and have to do with some loud wind when there are "tropical storm conditions" which has been 1 day since we have been here. There are several great restaurants all within a block and also a walgreens and pretty much everything you need within a block or two. there is a great park right across the street if you have kids and the fact that the harbor area is so close, its a great safe place to take long walks with great scenic views. It is within a couple blocks of the train station but you never hear the trains and if you are lazy like me, the fact there is a trolley that goes every 15-30 minutes that you can track on an app is an added plus. All in all, we have been very happy with moving here and have also referred a couple people here. The only regret i have to be honest is that they are not condos that i can buy, because we definitely would and would love to keep the same mgmt company. The Beacon is a fantastic place to live. It is a fun, festive and safe community. The views are spectacular and the building is gorgeous. Common areas are well appointed and kept clean and quiet. Moving from a freestanding house, I had some concerns about noise. It has not been an issue. The festivities at the local venues - which attracted me to the area - close at a reasonable hour. The apartment itself is quiet and tranquil. I feel like I am on vacation everyday. The staff is courteous and accountable. They are committed to keeping residents well informed and satisfied. Any issues (i.e. construction, resident concerns, etc.) have been handled promptly and professionally by either direct communication/phone calls or community emails. The leasing office keeps residents abreast of all pertinent issues with daily correspondence. I like that I know what is going on in my community. I have no reservations in recommending The Beacon to other luxury apartment seekers. read more
