This review is for TOCA which operates inside D-Bat…read more Our family has had a mixed experience at TOCA Marietta. When we first joined, sessions started right on the hour and ran smoothly. Over time, though, the start times have drifted -- sometimes beginning 10-15 minutes late and wrapping up early before the next session. It's frustrating not knowing when the actual instruction time begins or ends. Another issue is the inconsistency with the coaching. The coaches seem to rotate frequently, and there doesn't appear to be a clear, consistent curriculum from week to week. Some coaches focus more on warm-ups and running than on skill development, while others (like Odell and Ronaldo) do an excellent job teaching technique and engaging the kids. Unfortunately, we haven't seen them in a while, and switching days hasn't helped us find them again. We've also noticed that while the club doesn't require cleats or shin guards, several kids wear them, which gives them an advantage during drills and scrimmages. It would be helpful if TOCA clarified equipment expectations so all players can participate on an even playing field. Overall, TOCA Marietta has potential -- especially when led by strong coaches -- but the inconsistency in scheduling, coaching style, and structure has made our experience uneven. With more stability and clearer communication, this could be a great program.

This one does seem to be a little busier than the Perimeter location though, so keep in mind you may have to share the batting cages or have to wait on someone if they aren't open to sharing.

Young people with parents who see them as pros during early development is in and of itself a site to behold. Professionalism, Knowledge, Skills and the ability to deal with people from all walks of life is to be admired and absolutely appreciated. Owner knew what they were doing in acquiring this group of personalities for such a fun and learning place for parents and children. Perfect location in Riverdale Ga with plenty of parking and the fees are affordable for everyone. Will be returning with more of my friends family and young people playing baseball and softball. Trina was really sweet and helpful by explaining how pricing worked and ensuring that we had what we needed at the cages. They also have a loyalty rewards card that allows you to get free swings (the $5 option) after a certain amount of visits. You can stamp your card one time per visit to earn the free swings. They also sold gloves and an array of snacks and drinks including popcorn and Italian ice. They provided baseball bats and helmets and had seating available with tables to hold your items. We stayed for about 90 minutes and tried the baseball and softball cages. It was a fun activity and great work out. I will be back to practice on the softball cage again.

I'm a 42 year old male traveling for business and visited the Steve Lundquist Aquatic Center at the…read moreJim Huie Recreation Center this past Tuesday. I was looking for a reliable place to swim and work out since I'll be in this area regularly. This place is not it. I called ahead specifically to ask about swimming, and at no point was I told the pool would be unavailable. When I arrived, the pool was completely taken over by a swim class, making lap swimming impossible. That kind of poor communication is unacceptable and shows a lack of basic consideration for patrons' time. The weight room was just as bad. Multiple benches had visible sweat stains, making it obvious the equipment had not been wiped down after previous use. In a fitness facility, basic cleanliness isn't optional, it's the bare minimum. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy. Not "a little messy," but dirty enough to make you question how often they're cleaned at all. Between the unsanitary conditions and the disorganization, the entire facility felt neglected. I was hoping to find a dependable gym for future business trips, but this was a one and done visit for me. If you care about cleanliness, clear communication, or a professional environment, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This facility needs serious improvements before it should be charging people to use it.

Great Aquatic Center which has facilities for a great swim with 3 different swim pools, to play basketball as well as gym area for nice working out. Fees are very nominal. Clayton County residents pay $3, while non-county residents pay $5 for most activities per day. Also, you can take a monthly/yearly memberships. They also offer a variety of classes that folks can participate in from swimming lessons to kickboxing. Plenty of free parking as well. To find out all of the various programs available, please call the center/visit directly because they change very frequently as per the season. Great place to take kids throughout the year. They are open 6 days and week, Monday thru Friday 8 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 6 PM and Sundays closed. At the swimming pool, the water temperature was nice and warm. However, I was really excited to find this place, and on my side of town. The shower area was really clean and adequate number of lockers they had, which I appreciated. It's nice place to swim and practice some backstrokes. I have been here for the first time and love to swim here. Also it's very inexpensive if you live in the area, bring your ID/License for entry. There is another area where the water is much warmer, however it's reserved for adults only, no kids or beginners. I am always in this area for my swim practice. It is never too crowded on any given day. The main pool is sectioned off for those who want to do lap swimming. There is also a smaller pool for senior citizens. Supervision of all swimmers is excellent and the watchful eye of the lifeguards keep the swimming experience safe. Steve Lundquist Aquatic Center at the Jim Huie Recreation Center is worth your visit.
