Let me start off this review by saying that I should have posted this a while ago. This all took place exactly a year ago. I was attempting to enroll in the Human Resources program and man, saying it was a mess is beyond an understatement. Right from the get go communication and organization was a huge issue. Even before I filled out the application I told them my struggles with learning and that I needed an in person class. I was told they would "Figure it out" and they had really great tutors that would be more than happy to assist me. As soon as I gave them my email and phone number I started receiving confusing messages and emails. Every time I called to ask them about it (if I managed to get through) I was told it was a glitch and to ignore them. A few days later I was "enrolled" and began their strange enrollment process. This was a really glitchy welcome video with a multiple choice quiz at the end, not even anything to do with being tested on my academic levels or anything (I never was tested on them) When it came to ordering books I struggled with everything. I tried to have Vicki (The "Librarian") assist me and I was met with eye rolling and attitude. I did manage to order the book but it was a process. Eventually I came to the realization that I needed to speak to a higher up for help. I wound up talking to Ginger via telephone. WHO DOESN'T EVEN LIVE IN MAINE! This is when they dropped the bomb on me. I'll try to sum it up, so basically after I told her about my difficulties and issues with the whole process I was told they didn't really have many (if any) tutors to help me as they had a hard time finding people, the class was 100% online, she didn't think I could handle the school and so on and so on. After we got off the phone I received an email exactly 8 minutes later stating I was dis-enrolled and to try again later. I quickly raced in the next day to cancel my book order, which was way easier than ordering it. So after all of this, I will not be re-applying and I will never recommend this joke of a "University" to anyone. Very disorganized, unprofessional and fake. Also they are for profit and profit only, they could care less if you succeed or not as long as you're lining their pockets. read more

History

Established in 1891.

On October 23, 1891, Mary E. Beal and several partners established the Bangor Business College, which later became known as Beal University. The original student body of less than 25 students followed a curriculum of banking, finance, accounting, business arithmetic, penmanship, business writing, commercial law, shorthand and typewriting. By January 1892, the student body had grown to more than 100 students. Beal College was accredited as a junior college of business in 1970 by the Accreditation Commission for Business Schools in Washington, D. C. The campus was moved to 629 Main Street in November of 1972, then to its present location at 99 Farm Road in Bangor in May of 2004. In 2016 Beal celebrated its 125th anniversary. In 2021 Beal College officially became Beal University. With more than a century of service, Beal is recognized today throughout our State for its excellence in education and continues to provide hands-on career training in a personal and friendly environment.

I made it understood that my employer would be paying for me to take the class. He said that was fine, and then took my employer contact information. I have several years of installation and refrigeration repair experience. But I was interested in learning about the electronics (the pcb/motherboard and ohming out components). At that time, we decided that it would be best for me to meet the instructor at the very beginning of the first class to see if it would be a useful class for me. When that first day of class began, I had a good conversation with the instructor. We decided that the class was for beginners and that I wouldn't gain much from it. I thanked everyone at the Institute and went home. Flash forward a couple of months, and I receive a notice from a bill collector that I owe them $160 for my account balance at Northeast Technical Institute. Don't ask me why the bill collector came after me instead of NTI. So I phoned NTI and asked them what this was all about. They said that I owed $60 for enrolling and $100 for withdrawing from the class. Firstly, I was not informed that I was actually either enrolling or withdrawing. Secondly, and more importantly, they never told me that I or my employer would be billed for these things. And nowhere on NTI's webpage does it say anything about these things.

Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Beal University's Vocational Nursing program. I found the program to be disorganized from the beginning. In my opinion, the instruction did not adequately prepare students to understand the material, and I often felt that I was expected to teach myself rather than receive meaningful guidance from the instructors. Although course content was presented, I did not feel that it was explained in a way that promoted real learning or long-term understanding. Communication and organization were also disappointing. I experienced confusion regarding program expectations, and I felt that administrative priorities were focused more on enrollment and tuition than on student success. As a student, I did not feel adequately supported throughout the program. The school's facilities also did not meet my expectations. I was disappointed by the learning environment and felt it did not reflect what I expected from an institution calling itself a university. It's actually not a university. They have no campus. It's just a small, dirty building in an industrial zone next to other warehouses. The Enrollment advisors and the directors are all liars. I would go to another school. Avoid Beal University at all costs. Because if you don't, you'll literally pay for it, and you'll drop out eventually and have to start over again. Overall, my experience left me feeling that I had invested a significant amount of time and money without receiving the quality education I expected. If you're considering a vocational nursing program, I encourage you to thoroughly research all of your options, speak with current and former students, compare licensing outcomes, and visit the campus yourself before making a decision. Based on my personal experience, I would choose another nursing program. Don't trust the job outlook from Beal University because it's fake. They are just business people who really do lie to you to get your money and don't care about the students. read more

Nobody is really in charge. Last year two members of the administration left so they hired a couple of other people to take their places but they aren't qualified & don't engage well with the kids. To see the new principle is like spotting big foot. She also hates kids. Currently many families are angry at the administration for various yet legitimate reasons. I know of several families who are going to leave & I don't blame them. Religion sets rules but Jesus sets free. This place lacks grace and compassionate hearts. It's becoming a tribe of Pharisees as far as I can see & and I know a lot of people who agree with me.

Its good to know that while I am at work, my children are getting the best possible care and I don't have to worry so much compared to all the other places we have tried. they're prices are a lot lower than the last center we were at and the care wasn't nearly as good as it is here! my children never want to leave when it comes to pick up time and they look forward to going here every morning so they can see the staff and all of their friends.
