If you don't have the patience to browse then this store may send you on a tailspin & you may leave the store unfulfilled. First Marshall's I've been to was when I lived in Long Island, New York over 30 yrs ago. They must be doing something right for being around for many decades, established in the 1950s. It's owned by TJX Companies which also owns TJ MAXX. Another favorite of mine. Their slogans are Your Surprise Is Waiting and Never boring, Always Surprising. So true, so I come visit at least once a month in search for deals. I like this store because it's not so big that I can come by during my lunch break and see a lots of stuff. Extra perk is their credit card you get a $10 coupon for every $200 you spend. Hmm....wonder what surprise awaits on my next visit.

As a matter of fact they have a couple out front and I live right down the street. The ones outside had wear and tear plus they wanted $10 more apiece since it was pre-built. I purchased two new in box to build myself. The staff was super helpful in terms to grabbing the product from the back and taking it to the register. The only problem I had was getting this out to my vehicle since the shopping carts have a pole that prevents it from being brought outside. Not a big deal since the boxes were not that heavy.

Regency centers owns this shopping plaza and they do a nice job of keeping it maintained and up to date. They are currently paining and doing some stucco work to keep things nice and fresh. There is plenty of parking and although it gets very busy at lunchtime it's pretty easy to maneuver your way through it (just watch for pedestrians!) Rumor has it the JTA Skyway is working on plans to expand its way into the Brooklyn area (first expansion in 25+ years) and I believe this will do wonders for these local businesses when they finally are connected to Downtown & Lavilla.

We frequent Bisciotti's, Josephine, Mojos and Southern Grounds. All 5 star locations for us. No chains here for shopping either. Everything is a privately owned specialty. Vintage, gifts, clothing, and pet boutique. All of them Top Notch. Steady occasions here for festivals and celebrations as well. Just a great place to spend the day with friends or a romantic date. If you haven't spent a day in Avondale, do yourself a favor and check it out. If you're from Jacksonville, you know, but it's one of the hidden gems of Florida.

I had drove out from the beach to take a look at an alto saxophone. Upon inspection of the item I discovered that it was not in working condition, but that it may have only needed very minor adjustments. These adjustments could have easily been made in the store with no more than a flathead screw driver, and a willingness to please the customer, but when I asked to insure those adjustments be made before making my purchase, another employee appeared. No matter what way that I tried to convey this message, this individual just kept repeating the price to me, literally ! As I do not own a thrift store of my own I can not accurately dictate the purpose of these establishment's goals, but I always was to assume that it was to generate income. So much for "The Customer Is Always Right" at Bargain World. I would not recommend this business to anyone, EVER! After my experience I will gladly pay double for a similar item somewhere else just as long as this store doesn't see any of my money. Unless broken junk and rude service is what you desire, do yourself a favor and stay away from Bargain World.
