This is the most hood Walmart I have ever been too. If you like to Walmart people watch, I highly recommended this place. They have police up there 24/7. The service is a joke. The cashiers had to be timed to see which ones took the longest checking people out and then were sent to this store to work. No management at this place at all. The cashiers just walk up and down the aisle looking for someone to help when there's an issue and then flip their flashing light and just sit and wait. After Kroger stopped delivery on the Westside of Jax, I signed up with Walmart plus for groceries. Just one month in I have cancelled my subscription with them due to delivery of old produce, frequent unavailable items, and failure to actually DELIVER items I paid for!! The last straw was today- after having ordered an item 2-3 days ago that ended up not being available at the time of delivery, I reordered it yesterday. I received multiple messages indicating it was in the delivery coming today. When the delivery arrived, it was not there, yet they charged me for it! Just plain theft! Enough is enough. read more

The Walmart on Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida engages in horrible customer service which arguably may constitute bad faith. I bought Loropelalum shrubs at the 103rd St., Walmart in Jacksonville and they did not have enough. The 103rd St store had them on sale and I specifically asked the Garden Center, Walmart employee if there were other other Walmart stores the had them on sale for the same price and had them in stock. She searched her computer inventory on her phone and told them that I could buy them for the same price at the Normandy store. I have a photograph of both the sale price bar scan and her phone screen showing me they were available on 103rd St. In reliance upon her statement that I could buy them for the same price at 103rd, I drove 20 minutes out of my way to the Normandy store, put them in my cart and waited in a long line to check out. When the register price showed a higher price, I explained what it happened and showed the cashier both the lower price bar code at the 103rd store and the picture from the Walmart employee that the shrubs were available at Normandy. She refused to honor the price and essentially told me that it was my fault for listening to the Walmart employee on 103rd St. and that she didn't care. The WORST Walmart for grocery pick-up. About a year ago. I had to leave after waiting almost an hour. Associates were not helpful. It normally takes them 15-30 minutes, but an hour is way too long. After I left I received an email stating the order was picked up. No the hell it wasn't... Dealing with Walmart's customer service was a pain on it's own but eventually they refunded me. Fast forward to a couple months ago. I ordered a phone that had the option for curb side pickup since it was over $35. I decided to do that since I was going to be in the area at the time slot available. It took 10 minutes for someone to come out so I'm thinking maybe things have gotten better. Today. I had a grocery pickup. Someone came out within 15 minutes after I acknowledged I parked. Groceries were loaded and have a great day. No issues right? I get home and noticed 11 of my items were missing. WTH. I tried calling the store, 0 for customer service and 3 for pick up. No answer. Ended up calling the main customer service line and they refunded the amount for the 11 items. Super frustrating. Get rid of the grocery pickup option if it can't be done right. Just wasting people's time and money. No issues when shopping inside with the exception of the long line at checkout. Especially during the evening and almost always on the weekend. read more

I bought a battery around 6 months ago for my 2015 jeep renegade, upon getting home I find out the battery wasn't any good. The following day as soon as I got off work I went back to the same Walmart with my receipt and exchanged the battery while returning my core. The customer service representative at the counter informs me than because he did the exchange he can't offer me a refund on my core. As irritating as that was I reminded myself my needed a battery and this was the best price, so I just ate the cost of the core. Now my battery is yet again not working, but the battery I bought has a 12 month free replacement posted on the label. I take the battery out, go back to Walmart to exchange it yet once again, for a woman to tell me I have to wait for someone to come and test my battery so they can tell me what I already know since I load tested it at home prior to driving to Walmart. But again I remind myself it's policy and wait. They ask me for my receipt, I explain I am unable to locate it, but I got it from this exact Walmart approximately 6 months ago. I even point out the manufacturers date on the battery showing that it's not even possible to be a year old since it was made in 11/24, it is now 10/25. They attempt to scan and inform me that the serial number isn't in their system and without a receipt there is nothing they can do, they even get a manager who tells me without proof of purchase she can't offer me anything as some tattooed trainee is trying to calm me down or talk down to me, I'm honestly not sure at the moment because I'm now extremely frustrated. So I leave, and as I'm walking out, the same door in which I entered the door greeter now begins to demand a receipt for my dirty and obviously used battery. And as I begin to explain to him if I had one I wouldn't be leaving with the same battery I walked in with, he starts telling me you need a receipt, you have to have a receipt for that. At this point I'm done. I'm done with all of these people and the terrible customer service, so in a very loud voice I asked the man "what does Costco, bjs, and Sam's have in common", " a member ship in which I signed and agreed to my receipt being validated before exiting, neither have I done here" and then told him to go fuck himself. After arriving back home I decided to call corporate and see if I can seek some sort of actual customer service, I spoke with a gentleman named Peter, he appeared extremely apathetic and understanding. She shared in my frustration and I felt I had been wronged. We even started going through my bank records attempting to find the office date and card so he could look up my purchase. By the end of the conversation I was feeling good, Peter told me to right down my customer complaint number and to go back to the store and speak with the manager, and with this number she would then have authorization to override the system and just let me exchange my battery. As we finished up he asked if he was helpful in which I told him he was, and he asked if I minded completing a survey about our experience together, which I told him I would be more than happy to and wished more Walmart employees had his level of customer errand professionalism. Now, much calmer, I returned to the same Walmart. The same door greeter is there, giving me a dirty look as I once again walk in with the same old and obviously used battery. I approach customer service where one of the two of the ladies were nearby on my previous visit less than an hour ago, as I walk up to the counter the one says to the other " you go first and deal with him", so I told them I needed to see a manger. A dark haired woman then walks up and politely asks how she can help and I maintained composure explaining all of this yet again. She starts to tell me how there isn't anything she can do for me without proof of purchase so I cut her off and hand her the piece of paper that Peter told me to write my customer complaint number down on. The number that's supposed to give her an override so I can end this huge waste of time. She acts confused, and tells me she's never heard of this, and never done it but says she will try, she punches some buttons and scans her badge and then tells me she's going to call the corporate number and ask about this. I waited maybe 10 minutes or so, the lady who was talking about me as I walked up now is taking other people at the counter. The manager comes back out and tells me how this number doesn't do anything, there is no override, and there is nothing she can do for me without a receipt because the serial number to the battery doesn't pull up in their system at all. Asked how is that possible if I literally got it from this exact counter when I exchanged it a day after the original purchase. She told me she's doesn't know but their system keeps records for years and they can look up purchases, so I asked her how is it that your not able to look up with purchase?Customer service used to be somethi read more

Electronics doesn't have help ! Could not get gift card, no one around to help. I was calling for help and this Big Big man shows up, security. Wally World! What more can I say? I am not a real big fan of Wally World, but they do in a pinch. I was helping my friend, Trish move boxes from her home in Murray Hill to Oakleaf Planation. We needed to organize her Christmas decorations, so we bought several clear totes with lids to put the decorations in the totes. This is a pretty nice Walmart. They were pretty low on plastic totes, so we only bought three. It was enough to do the trick. I found a few this to purchase along the way. A Fall kitchen towel, Community Coffee pods, an ice tray etc. overall, I did not leave disappointed this time. Kudos to Wally World. read more

This particular Walmart Supercenter is located on Jacksonville's Westside. I think many of us know what to expect when we go into.a Walmart and this particular location will definitely give you the experience that many have anticipated. I do not hate Walmart as a store, but I also cannot say that I am anything close to a fan. Walmart is a fixture throughout this country and whether we like this brand or not, Walmart is pretty much here to stay. I did not have any real issues when I was in the store and I pretty much got what I needed and was in and out in an acceptable amount of time. I guess that I will give this particular Walmart location three stars. While there was nothing truly terrible about my experience, there was also nothing particularly exceptional. SO CONVENIENT!! I don't think I ever want to do normal grocery shopping again. The pickup location for the Normandy Walmart is on the right side of the building. I only waited about 10 minutes for them to come out and see me. If I had the Walmart app it would have been more immediate. I downloaded it shortly after. I placed my order and picked it up the next day. The great thing was if I forgot something, I could add it to my order up to 7 hours prior to pickup. Another amazing feature you get with pickup and not regular shopping is the substitution option. If they are out of stock of an item you requested, they substitute it with a similar item. When you arrive they will ask if you are ok with the substitutions they sent in your email. My favorite thing is even if the product is more expensive, Walmart doesn't up the price because them being out of stock with what you want is inconvenient to you. So you can place an order for Walmart generic and if they are out of stock your substitution will be name brand!!! For the same price! I was a little nervous about ordering produce, but they actually picked good stuff! Nothing was bruised or bad. They also handed my eggs to me to keep up front to prevent breaking. read more

Every time I go to Walmart I thinking I'd be saving money but in reality the time it takes to shop may not be all worth the savings. What's good is their App. It helps me locate the items I need. What's bad is they have limited choices. They buy a lot of what sells. It may not be what I want. So many times if I'm looking for specialty item they don't carry it. Another bad is the poor customer service. No people to help you. The worse is in the electronics area. You better do your own research. Don't expect a knowledgeable person to offer technical assistance. So my rating could have been a 2 except for their Walmart phone app which helps me find stuff. I must agree with fellow [Elite] Yelper, Steven J... The customer service here is excellent so the management must be way above average. I've been coming to this location regularly and the staff takes the time to look up prices and point you in the right direction if they don't actually take you there themselves. Shout-Out to Janet, in the health and beauty department. She helped me locate a product for my injured wrist that I had previously "added to my cart" online prior to my last visit. She took the time [and with a great attitude, I will add] to look at my cell phone, punch in the item number on her scanner to try and locate the product in the store since their website said they were in-stock at this location. She directed me to the Sporting Goods Department and I was able to easily find exactly what I needed. I felt this was particularly outstanding customer service because of the fact that three other customers approached her for help at the same time. And she was able to quickly answer their questions without ever making me feel ignored. She handled that situation like a pro and everyone was very happy. I also visited my second favorite department [the Garden Center] and found these adorable Red Mushroom Stools I never knew existed and absolutely had to own! On the Wal-Mart website the stools were on sale so I showed the Garden Center cashier [funny, upbeat guy - I should've remembered his name] the online price. He checked that it was, in fact, the same item and did a price adjustment for me so I purchased two to take home. That was a great example of true customer care. Based on my many experiences at this location and my interaction with the hardworking staff, I'm surprised at the lower ratings. I think this Wal-Mart deserve a lot more Yelper Loving Stars on the average. Every single experience I've had at this particular location has been really positive. I've been helped when I've asked for assistance and staff members have been very friendly even when I was just walking through their department. Every. Single. Time. Overall - I recommend if you're coming here for a specific item look on their website first to make sure it's in-stock (or call ahead) or pay online [you can use PayPal] and then pick-up in store. Also, keep their website up on your cell while you are there shopping to catch those sale items that just might not show up in their system yet. Big loss prevention issue here. Bought a portable ac unit and got home only to find it was a repacked return and put on the shelf. Dirty as hell on the inside and coils damaged. Whomever took the return did check it, plain and simple. When I took this dirty ass thing back to the store I was treated like the plague, told to talk to the manufacturer. The serial number on the item in the box and the box were 2 different numbers. Manufacturer is t gonna do anything. Period. No mention of "hey well look into this since we have the receipt and see who took this return and go from there" no nothing. Buy things here at your own risk. We purchased a Cosmo light in a box for my grandson for Easter, purchased night before. Easter morning when he opened it, instead of light it had plastic bags and two cans of water. I don't think he believes in the Easter bunny any more. I asked my daughter to return for me, they accused her of lying and banned her from store. This Walmart actually makes me more crazy than the one on 103rd Street. OMGooooosh! I really hate coming here. I have encountered worse Walmart stores, but this one will still drive you insane. Parking is insane. People will damn near run you over while you are trying to walk into the store, so watch out! They are always inevitably out of something I have on my list. On my most recent visit, they were out of my IBC bottled root beer. I was not a happy camper. Didn't feel like going to another store though, so I'll just have to do without it for this week. The shelves are generally a mess. Items are placed here, there, and everywhere. Same chaos in the clothing departments. I'm not really sure what the employees do here, but it certainly isn't making sure things are kept organized and neat. Speaking of employees... need one for help? Good luck finding one. If, by chance, you do fine one, you probably still aren't going to get any help. Usually the response you'll get is, "I don't work in this department." They then promptly walk off. You'd think they could at least offer to find someone who does work in the department. But no. The only good thing about this store is they have self-checkout lanes (the store on 103rd Street does not). Sometimes we are lucky and do not have to wait. Other times, we have to stand behind someone with 50 items and has no clue how to work the thing. *rolls eyes* This store is also not one that is open 24 hours. They close at midnight. They announce this repeatedly on the intercom starting around 11:30 and at about 5 minutes before midnight, you will start to see the employees come out of hiding because they practically chase you out of the store. Pick up grocery here is HORRIBLE. Arrived to get my pick up order and cars were lined up a mile down just waiting for a parking slot. It was utter chaos. I agree with Kerry C. location is best on early Saturday morning. I have been to this location many times over the last 13 years. The check out line is less than ideal, but now they offer a self check out corral for those self doers. They do have a good price on items such as paperback books, magazines, and grocery items. Sometimes these items are have the cost as other chain stores. They do offer Nestle Water and a good selection of DVDs. Buyer be ware that Walmart DVDs are lower quality if your using a well rounded audio visual system. read more

I for one, really enjoy this Walmart. It's definitely one of the better Walmarts I've visited. It's clean and always fully staffed and well stocked. I also use their Walmart Grocery Pickup service from this walmart and I enjoy it. It saves me so much time on grocery shopping to do it online. They even load the groceries in your car for you! which comes in handy when you buying several twelve packs of soda and 35 lbs of dog food! They started closing the Garden Center at 7 pm. I came in by the Garden center and purchased a Lawn Mower. I paid for it and had to exit through the front..though I was parked in the back lot by the Garden Center. My husband has a Heart Condition and we had to walk, outside, in the heat, from the front of the store to the back parking lot. read more

Everything I typically need at a reasonable price. The staff was (drum roll) polite, helpful and attentive. A very nice surprise. The management must be doing something right. For me I went on the Wal-Mart super store exercise walk. I entered in gardening, made a trip to plumbing and hardware, then it was off to linens, towels, wash cloths, then the uncomfortable part for every male... Women's clothing, under garments, and sleep wear. (As a husband I know that one error in judgement will put me in the dreaded dog house after the "how could you" lecture. Luckily, I found a very professional clothing sales lady to help me avoid the pitfalls. Great management, inspires great staff who provide fantastic service to us the customers. If I could give this store a 0 star rating, it would be too good for them. Literally the worst Walmart I've ever encountered in my life. Having a special needs child who struggles in public, grocery pickup has been a game changer for us. We just relocated here from another state and as this is the closest Walmart to our home of course I placed my grocery order here. Every single order I have picked up thus far from this store has had an issue whether it be their substitutions or the amount of wait time. This order however, takes the cake. I am 9+ months pregnant and decided I needed to do a big order to stock up so I don't have to worry once the baby arrives. I get to the store and checked in when I see the email for their substitutions and out of stock items. I am fine with the substitutions, but the out of stock items is jaw dropping. 7 items appear to be out of stock, which seems pretty odd considering one of my substitutions was one of the exact same items that now is magically out of stock as well. So when the associate comes to my car I ask about that item, apple juice...you didn't have a substitute apple juice? Or tortilla chips? None of these items could have been substituted? I have a hard time believing this. So this associate along with another call the manager, Carrie (sp?), who doesn't realize she's on speaker, and tells them to just tell me it's out of stock so I'll leave!!
