Wish I would have read some reviews before booking Country Bear for my April 2023 wedding. It was nearly impossible to reach Danielle in the 2 months leading up to the day, and when she finally responded (after ignoring us multiple times and for multiple weeks) we heard many excuses. She was so unresponsive that we had backup plans in case she didn't show up on the day. My last payment went missing on her end and took over a week for her to find. I had to ask her at least 4 times to update our contract. I have emails stating there was no oven on sight, but she showed up with uncooked food expecting an oven. The venue manager came to the rescue and let us use the oven in her apartment on site. This issue resulted in food being served late. My friends and family who helped set up décor at the venue heard her and her staff complaining about the space (it was a very small venue). I called her the night before to ensure she had everything she needed. She did not answer the phone, and then texted me the morning of my wedding day asking if I had cups. As part of our contract we paid for real glassware which apparently she forgot. Instead she had to run out and get plastic disposable. I will say that the food was pretty good, and she gave me a handful of tasty menu options in my budget. She was thorough helping me with a cocktail menu and how much alcohol to buy, and even brought a mixer that she already had on hand for one of the drinks (she sub contracted the bartender). read more

Where do I even start? If I could rate Bear Country Catering 0 stars, I would. It was an absolute awful experience working with Danielle and team. Her poor business managment skills, lack of communication, and ability to make up an excuse for every issue is just the start. It was so bad working with Danielle and this company that we were reaching out to other catering companies days before our wedding in an effort to ensure we were going to have food. Below is a few of the issues we had with this business for our August 2022 wedding. - Zero communication after paying deposit. - Excuse for every issue in not being able to communicate. - 30 min late arriving to venue for wedding - They forgot knives for our 200 guests - Ran out of drink cups that they were supplying within 5 minutes of serving - Half the staff that was promised - They forgot table runners - Unprofessional staff Saving the best for last.... We had 40 people that DID NOT eat. We were notified the morning of the wedding that guests would need to serve themselves for everything but meat, that was not our original plan. The sides ran out so quickly and the meat was not served to 40 people. We paid for 220 people. Called Danielle multiple times the week before to let her know that we would be more around 200. (Trying to be courteous) We had 194 folks show up and still they still ran out. At the end of the day, save yourself the awful experience my wife and I had to go through and find someone else to cater your event. read more

Bear Country had been catering our community event for 3 years now. The selection, quality and taste is fabulous. Yesterday i had a root vegetable curry that was amazing! As a volunteer I always look forward to purchasing leftovers to take home. This morning I'm eating a yummy Turkey & provolone sandwich with crisp veggies with some magically delicious dip. Danielle catered our wedding May 2019 and she and her team did an amazing job. The food was absolutely delicious! The Italian soda bar was amazing and everyone was ready to take leftovers home with them to enjoy later on. They arrived at an appropriate time and everything was ready for us by the time the ceremony was completed. They even had appetizers brought to us while we were getting pictures taken so we can snack. The meat and cheese platter they sent was phenomenal! They also had a vast variety of menu options to fit our wedding budget and style. read more

I regret ever hiring Bear Country. We hired this company for our July 2022 wedding. Communication started out great. The closer we got to our wedding the harder it was to get ahold of the owner, Danielle. She no showed us for a venue walkthrough, after she was over half an hour late we finally received a response that she was not going to be attending and her assistant was supposed to contact us. The next couple weeks we kept getting told that her assistant was supposed to help us with all the questions that weren't answered when she did finally respond. We had to repeatedly reach out, and received unfulfilled promises about when we'd get our final quote for the catering cost to the point where our payment was late because we had no idea how much we needed to pay. We were genuinely worried that we wouldn't have food show up at all for our wedding. The day of the wedding the catering was over an hour late, and requested to serve dinner an hour late because they didn't bring everything they needed. They stored our cake improperly and chunks of the cake fell off, and the linens were disgusting. Nearly every single one was stained upon arrival and our day of coordinator had to try to cover up the stains with table arrangements with limited time. Danielle had the audacity to behave like she was doing us a favor for not charging us for linens she claims we damaged even though she can't remove the stains or repair them and will give us our full $100 deposit back anyway. Since then, it's been scarce contact FULL of excuses as to why I haven't received my refund and it's been ten weeks. I paid by ACH and she's saying it got rejected after waiting two weeks to even bother claiming that she was going to send it. Then, five weeks ago she supposedly sent us a check, but when we've asked about it she won't respond. This is a poorly run business with owners that don't care about their clients after they get their money. If you're looking for a caterer for your wedding, save yourself the headache and frustration and look elsewhere. read more

Let's start with the good: Daniel and her crew are super nice. We had an alcohol free wedding and she put together an amazing coffee /hot chocolate bar. Although I didn't get the chance to try it or the horderves for myself, our guests were extremely impressed by both. And the bread rolls were good. The bad: The main course and vegetables were far less than perfect. The roast beef was OK but the vegetables were under cooked and they weren't what we had agreed on in the contract. The potatoes were inedible, totally undercooked and underseasoned. My least favorite moment of my entire wedding day was when I had just walked down the aisle and upon being given away we heard a CRASH of large metal utensils hitting the floor, even though my wedding coordinator told them the ceremony was taking place and to please keep it down. I guess I'm just glad it happened early in the ceremony because we didn't hear a peep from them after that. My husband and I's main consensus was that we should have done a potluck and hired a barista. The End. read more

Danielle and her crew were able to accommodate my unusual catering request in a professional and personable manner, resulting in a very successful evening of celebration. She was also very versatile and was able to make changes on the fly when it became apparent such changes were needed. I will use Bear Country Catering again for my next large gathering, without a doubt. read more

All we gave Danielle was our budget and a request for a mix of two regional foods, and she produced a menu that was a true crowd pleaser. She was communicative, accommodating, and full of great ideas. Thanks to her professionalism and planning, our wedding went off without a single hiccup, and we are thankful. We had Bear Country Catering do our company picnic and it was an excellent decision! They showed up on time ready to go, kept everything looking fresh and stocked. The food was delicious and they were able to meet the various dietary needs for all of our staff (vegetarian, vegan and meat eaters). They tailor your menu to your budget. We decided to go with Bear Country Catering for our wedding of about 150 people after a recommendation from a friend. Danielle and crew were absolutely amazing. We decided to do a Mac n' cheese bar for our reception, and all food was delicious. Pricing was very reasonable and the service was above and beyond. The crew was very efficient and professional with set up/take down, and was checking in with day-of coordinator throughout the event. My husband and I were married in Oct 2018 and chose Bear Country Catering. Danielle was great to work with through the whole process. Planning your own wedding is a HUGE task and I was able to email her about any changes or questions I had. She was always willing to answer with a smile (via email) ;). During the event everything ran smoothly and she even made plates for my husband and I so we never had to go get our own food and cake as we were busy mingling with everyone.
