I had nearly as much fun sitting next to my wife and looking at the landscape as I did when I was behind the wheel navigating the trails. Runamuk provides everything you need for a trip. Consider bringing ear protection - the machines are loud. Don't forget sunglasses and a rag to wipe to them clean after trekking a puddle or two.

We rode right after a big storm and got nice and wet and muddy from splashing through large rain puddles along the trails. The vehicles were very sturdy and we felt perfectly safe, even through some rough terrain. Jim also had us stop at a few spots along the way to show us some beautiful scenery and tell us a bit about the history of the area. Most of us hadn't been on or driven ATVs before and all of us would do it again! As far as the value goes, for 3 generations to spend a quarter of a day doing something we all enjoyed and had never done before, we felt it was worth every penny. Communication from Joan prior to our tour was excellent. She answered our questions promptly and thoroughly. Both she and Jim were wonderful. We will likely do business with them in the future! So here we are, with a beautiful, cosmetically restored boat, but the darn thing wouldn't start and if it did, it died randomly. Not the ideal situation for someone who doesn't know a motor from a steering wheel. Enter Round Lake Marina. Darrin, Rick and Aaron came to our rescue, gave the boat a nice little tune up at our dock and made sure "girls week" wasn't spent looking longingly at the lake. Karen at Adventure Tours was a total rockstar in helping me get a tour booked. I came a bit early in the season and with my dog, so getting a date and a group willing to travel with a dog was a bit challenging. Karen was constantly communicating with me while I was up there trying to find a group for me to go out on the boat with. And she did! We'd been chatting back and forth while she was checking the best date for the weather, and we were able to have a wonderful tour! Captain Lauren was likewise a rockstar and our all-lady tour (except for my male pup) was a total blast. I love that this tour was in a smaller speedboat and there were only four of us plus dog plus Captain Lauren. We got to chat and mention things we might want to know and see, and Lauren was a trove of information and fun facts. We also were able to get closer to some of the cooler islands and rock formations than the huge commerical tour boats we saw further out in the water. We got to naviate inside some of the sea caves and look out at the big boats who couldn't fit or get this close. This was 100% the way to go for a water tour. I cannot recommend this option enough, and extra love for being dog friendly.

Unfortunately with the device we had no one could communicate with us, but the crew at Spirit was tracking us and keeping everyone back home aware of our situation. After we got back into Ely, they even offered a bunkhouse for us to stay the night before heading home.
