Had one of the worst experience ever riding the bike here. The instructor didn't made me feel at…read moreease and made me feel so uncomfortable! I would deffo NOT recommend this school.
I booked and paid for the DAS (that was my first mistake as I would now recommend to get to know your instructor(s) first, before you pay such amount of money). Well, I didn't ask how the procedure was, I mean, how the learning process is organised and how the training site is (second mistake I did).
I, however, told them I was a newbie and even tho I had been riding a 125cc for 1 year, I had respect for the big bike. Answer: I would get the DAS in 4 days tops, easily, not a problem.
Well, I guess Elliot is used to work with people who 'get it fast' because I didn't. It was a really frustrating experience, I unlearnt whatever I knew beforehand.
The teaching process was chaotic, it rained first day so we spend it riding around. I was exhausted, simply because it was the first time in a big bike, nervous, raining, with a lot of traffic and making loads of mistakes and I was only hearing 'don't do that' but never a because.
I was worried about the slow manoeuvres, it was the most difficult part for me and I told him. However, halfway the second day, we had to call it off due to the rain, so nothing.
I started with the slow manoeuvres training short before the day of the test and I wasn't getting it. I was most of the time with my foot on the floor, (U-turn was dreadful). As I was getting tired, my riding was getting worse and the only thing he could tell me was: 'YOU SHOULD BE DOING IT BY NOW!'
Yes, I should, but I couldn't. Elliot wouldn't change the approach to teach me how, and he would repeat the same instructions all the time and go to the other corner just to leave 'alone time?' to get it right.
Well, that was the day before the test so I asked him whether it was worth it going to the test centre, as I had no chance to pass. His answer, 'that it would be another riding experience'. Off we went!
I complaint about the teaching method, more exactly, the non existing, and their answer was that that was the first time they heard anyone complaining and it is not their fault. I really needed more lessons and that, wait for it!, should start again from scratch in my 125!! I honestly thought I was hopeless and I would never be able to ride a bike because I, mistakenly, thought I was clumsy.
Basically, the feeling I have after all this time is that TIZWAZ wanted my money and 0 responsibilities of their side. I paid the DAS, and after sending me to the mod1 test, Elliot thought that would be a good idea to start again, paying again. A good teacher would have known after the first day that I was a bit more difficult student and had to put their knowledge to make anything possible to pass the test.
I can honestly say that because after half a year I tried again and went to a different school. What a difference! Honestly, what a difference a teacher can make! Pass mod1 first time after 2 days training, I was so confident! and mod2 first time. I really regret going to TIZWAZ and I have paid this mistake twice, twice the price and half a year later.
The shop, on the other hand, is great! Kathryn is such a lovely lady and is always trying to help you.
