My child was in another daycare all his life up to a couple weeks ago. We ran into some issues (there were issues before, but they had escalated due to lack of enough supervision) and I kept calling to check on the status on the waiting list. Thank the good Lord that we were able to start taking our son here. I love the photos I get throughout the day assuring me he is cared for well. He is still adjusting as he is crying during drop off AND pick up :). But once you enter the place you can see that it is clean and inviting. Ms. Jenna and the director Ms. Andrea have been phenomenal with answering questions and they are both just so sweet. You can tell they love what they do (the day of the tour they both were decked out for St. Patty's lol) The facility itself is very roomy with big classrooms. I like also the little porch area they have for the kids to still be able to play outside or get fresh air even if it were to rain a bit or be too hot to go all the way out without the cover of a roof. It's a gated porch and each classroom has their own so the kids are secured. My son is learning many things here already and I can't wait until he starts being able to vocalize more his new knowledge.

Fantastic school. We are so excited about our daughter attending this lovely school next year. The…read moreeducators are so warm and thoughtful. Part of the founders and board have children that attend the school and I believe they are wholeheartedly invested in the future and direction of the Montessori. We feel so fortunate to have our daughter attending this Montessori, preparing her for life. The garden is lovely, the school setting is unique, it's also a small student to teacher ratio.

My four year old daughter has flourished here over the last year. This school resonates with my…read morechild and fosters her independence of the everyday tasks. She asks to help me around the house (cooking, making her own lunch, sweeping, mopping, cleaning mirrors, watering plants, taking care of her dog and fish) At Salado Montessori, they learn through physically getting involved in the activity at hand,(everyday fundamentals like washing hands, getting dressed (my daughter learned to tie her shoes in a day), motor skills like opening and closing boxes and organizing blocks based on size, music (beat, tone, instruments), sounding out words, addition and subtraction, days of the week). She wakes up and gets dressed on her own, brushes her own teeth and takes pride in it all because it gives her a sense of accomplishment. This school is teaching her how to learn, not what to learn. Salado Montessori has created an amazing community, parents willingly volunteer their time. They periodically have volutuneer days, where the parents and children can be a part of bettering the school together (i.e.planting gardens, reorganizing the classroom). The teacher, Ms. Webb for lack of a better word, is AMAZING! She is patient, observes well and interacts without hindering the learning process. She is organized, happy and cares deeply for each individual child. She allows parents to observe the learning process throughout the school year and meets with us one on one to discuss the growth of our child. She gives ideas to me about how I can continue to foster growth throughout the home and how to speak to my daughter to further her own excitement about learning. I truly believe Ms. Webb helps my individual child grow in every aspect of her life, and is not just a teacher filling a time slot during the school day. Also, this school was one of the only schools around that allowed for a half day, full day, and before and after child care programs. I can not say enough good things about this school.

There appears to be a lack of organization, inconsistent communication with parents regarding student concerns, and a pattern of decisions that many families have found frustrating. There have also been ongoing concerns from parents regarding school climate, fairness in decision-making, and whether all students are being supported equally. Several teachers and families have chosen to leave, which has raised additional concerns about stability and retention. Academically, I have concerns regarding the quality and rigor of some assignments. There were times materials appeared to come directly from Teachers Pay Teachers resources, and some assignments seemed below expected grade level standards. Parents should carefully review instructional materials and ask questions regarding curriculum alignment and academic expectations. I also encourage prospective families to ask questions about teacher certification status, staffing plans, student support systems, communication procedures, and administrative oversight. Many families remain because the school offers activities and athletic opportunities that are difficult to find elsewhere, which creates a challenging decision for parents. I do want to acknowledge that Dr. Roan appears committed to improving the school and creating positive change. However, in my opinion, meaningful improvement will require stronger leadership, greater accountability, improved communication, and a clearer focus on student outcomes. I strongly encourage prospective parents to speak directly with current families before enrolling. What appears positive from the outside may not fully reflect the day-to-day experience.

We had a full work up done on our son, and doctors couldn't figure out what was going on, but said some kids do that, however he had never done that in front of us nor in front of the doctors. His teachers were great and sweet to him, but something was not right and we don't know what. We moved him to Primrose in May 2025 (he had been at BES since he was about 3 or 4 months until about 11 months). He never had one single episode there and has been thriving. The director mentioned several parents had moved over there from BES and I did in fact run into a parent I knew that told me her son had a bad diaper rash and was even bleeding. He also had a giant goose egg and they didn't know how he got it. The little kid even told his mom was the "mean teacher" (mom said teacher is no longer there. My husband and I were told there were cameras , and when we asked about them they "hadn't been set up yet." The regional director told us she would call us to talk about the passing out spells (his lips would turn blue sometimes) and she didn't call. I have seen many negative reviews for BES online although I am well aware that people typically ONLY post about negative experiences - so I took it with a grain of salt and pushed forward. I have friends who have used BES in the past and the feedback from actual parents was 50/50, so I wanted to give them a shot. Having used 2 other facilities in the area, I understand that everyone's opinions/expectations with childcare are very different and went into this all with a very open mind. I have been actively trying to get my children's enrollment lined out since May 26th when I first spoke to someone on the phone... and it has been nothing but trouble since. I was told after the first call, I'd get a call back to validate our enrollment completion and registration fees settled - and received no call back. Again, open minded - I proceeded to schedule a tour online. I went to tour the facility on 6/2, and paid my registration fees afterwards to hold my children's spots. I was told by the woman at the front desk that the online system for enrollment paper work was giving them trouble, and that she would have to check with 'so-and-so' to find the forms and they'd call me the following Monday to touch base and make sure they had everything they needed. Again, no callback happened. While I was there taking care of the registration fees in the front office, I could hear a young toddler/older infant having a meltdown.. one of the office ladies walked back in and stated "if anyone wants to cuddle with a little one, sounds like there is one in there that needs it!" and she proceeded to go back to laminating and cutting paper. Again, I know how kids are and took it with a grain of salt - maybe the kid is sick? Having a rough morning? Teacher busy changing a diaper? It happens - right! Still tried to push forward with an open mind. All that to say... My kids were slated to start in July and with only 1 week until their start date, no one has called me. I proactively reached out again yesterday via email to validate our enrollment was completed and figure out how to set up payments for our tuition. I then received a response asking me to take care of the registration fees (already paid on 6/2), and complete the enrollment paperwork (which was completed 3 weeks ago). I have had to follow up countless times, with continued lapses in communication on BES's end. I can't speak to how they care for their children, aside from my single experience while there for a tour. I cannot speak to the teacher's quality or how they educate. However as a momma who has her stuff together and tries to be proactive in resolving stuff like this - the experience with enrollment was extremely poor. They seem very unorganized and as if the office staff does not communicate effectively. I am choosing to not enroll my children here based on the experience with enrollment alone. I am losing out on our registration fees.. although that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. I had a bad feeling about all of this after the first missed call-back, and am choosing to go with my gut feeling and avoiding BES in the future.
