We had left the Badlands of S Dakota that morning, and had spent the day driving across Wyoming to Red Lodge, with the plan to hit Yellowstone in the morning. The town of Red Lodge is very cute, with lots of restaurants and stores. To be honest, the Beartooth sounded better online than it was in person. It is definitely in a need of a refresh. We had booked this vacation somewhat last minute, so other locations to stay had already been booked up, so it is what it is. But we were grateful that we were only staying one night. The breakfast is limited, both in selection, and length of time that it's available. Everything is prepackaged and chilled from being in the fridge. If you put the pastries in the microwave for a few seconds, it definitely helped. For the price, I would've expected better accommodations, but honestly, when you are staying in a gateway community to a national park, this is often what you find. read more

Inn by the creek! This place narrowly missed the flood of 2022! The creek overtook its banks, took out some of the road, but this place survived! When I went, the hot tub was out of order. They have a big, inviting pool that's heated and indoors! The ice machine worked just fine. Parking was easy, there's a dedicated lot that has a big bear statue out on the roadside, with benches with bears carved into them. When I went, I saw wild turkeys roaming the parking lot! The art in here is something else. There's a term for it- it's scenic Montana scenes carved into wood in 3D. Cool. The room was good- it didn't have anything too incredible going on with it, other than the art. A small TV in the corner was ample. The HVAC operated just fine. The staff was very nice and gracious. Somehow my car back hatch was left open all night, and no bears or thieves got in. There's a sign not to leave food in your car, as there might be bears. Seriously. They offer free breakfast. It was short-lived before they locked it back down again, but it has yogurt, donuts, bagels, fruit, juice, milk, cereal, and weak coffee. read more

Great little Inn just past downtown. Spent 4 nights here, it had everything I needed. The lobby is welcoming with the perfect indoor temperature, places to sit and a friendly environment. The lobby is also the location of the grab and go breakfast, included with your stay, lots of choices from hot items to cold ones. My room was on the bottom floor, the door takes a key to open and the space is perfect. Fast hot water in the shower, flat panel television in the corner of the room and a bed that was easy to sleep in. Plenty of space for my outdoor necessities, clothes, boots and suitcases. Walking distance from Ski Run road, it's the perfect location for Red Lodge skiers/snowboarders! We had a group of 5, all arriving at different times, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. My parents arrived very late at night due to flight delays, and the manager came from her house to check them in. The complimentary breakfast selection was extensive, with various breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and individually wrapped baked goods. It made waking up early to get onto the mountain for those first runs a breeze. However, the best part of our stay was Sam at the front desk. She is warm and knowledgeable about all things Red Lodge! She gave us so many helpful tips on places to explore, from scenic hiking spots to hot spots around town. She also helped us extend our stay when other plans fell through. Next time we come to Red Lodge, we will definitely stay at Beartooth Hideaway. Thank you, Sam, for all your help! read more

Stay away from this hotel. We found a live bedbug in our room. We notified the front desk and the woman was rude and ignorant. She said she didn't know what a bedbug looked like. I agree with all of the other 1 star reviews posted...the walls are thin, the place is run down, it is ridiculously priced for what it is, the doors look unsafe, the room smelled bad (if you google bedbug infestation you will find this is a tell tale sign), and there are strung out possible drug users on the property. Do yourself a favor, there are several other decent places to stay. The Beartooth Hideaway is not one of them. Better accommodations can be found with polite staff. I had to deal with bedbug bites on my body and as well as throw away and cleanse my belongings. read more

This joint was a dive but I guess it met all our sleeping and showering preferences. It reminded me of the Motel 6...It needed huge renovations and updating. It was dark and dreary inside and out. The rooms could use a fresh coat of pain and new carpet...yuck if you're walking barefoot! The front desk staff was trying to accommodate but it appears that they don't communicate with Hotels.com on bookings because they only had us having a one room reservation and we paid for two. They blamed Hotels.com for the screw up...then they wanted to charge us for the second room, again? Thank God they did have the second room...The morning clerk upon check out wanted to argue and never did get the manager for me to clarify the bill. Maybe she was the manager and didn't want to deal with me? They either start communicating with the booking services that give them their business or they may want to close the place down! read more

Good place. Excellent value. Friendly welcome and spotlessly clean. This review is for my single room on the ground floor. The pool is roughly twice the size of the typical hotel pool today, and designed like a lake--shallow along all the edges and gradually inclining toward its deepest point--the center. Rather like hotel pools I remember from my youth. (How old am I? Well, I watched the original Hawaii Five-O during its initial run: https://youtu.be/AepyGm9Me6w.) And yes, the pool and decor and furnishings and carpeting speak of a simpler time--before keycards and HBO and those weird bedside lamps with USB ports in them. Your room will have a normal door with normal hardware-store hinges, and it will lock with an actual key. (Calm down; it has a deadbolt.) I have a fine queen bed, and as I mentioned, everything is scrupulously clean. The TV has 80 channels and if you need more than that, God help you. I'm sad. I think I've missed all of this. In fact, I think I love this place. read more

I'm titling this review "BET YOU FIND A BEDBUG" Was going to stay here because they have a pool, and the other locations with pools in town are full. The outdoor hot tub is a Nice touch on cold nights. Well, the lobby had an odd odor. There wasn't a single person in the lobby to help us, so I walked down the hall. Glad I did. It's disgusting. Needs vacuumed. I started sneezing from the dust. The housekeeping staff needs fired. There was one employee walking down the hall swinging a dirty rag. If the appearance of the employee is indicative of the cleanliness of the hotel, I bet you find a bedbug. I can only imagine how gross the pool is. We left. Never was helped or even approached by anyone. RUN. Go elsewhere. A tent would be an upgrade from this place. read more

Good friend came to visit from Taiwan and I wanted to give her a cabin experience since she's never done it before. Husband suggested these cute cabins for a quint and cozy girls get away so we did. These hide-away cabins were easy to find right at the end of the Main Street in Red Lodge. We checked in with some nice folks at the front desk and a gentleman walked us over to our cabin just so we don't get confused. We were super excited to see our cabin. I was even more excited to see the look on my friend's face. There's parking right in front of the cabin door which was convenient. Everything in the cabin seemed new and clean. Lovely and sensible set up. Double doors between the bedroom to the living and kitchen area. Sky light in the bathroom was cool. Good wifi speed. Our Skype call to friend in Korea was not interrupted which was a pleasant surprise. The fire stove for heat turns on automatically when it goes below the set temperature. It was plenty warm on a windy winter night when we stayed there. Decided to order in instead of going out and the Red Lodge pizza co made the delivery right to our cabin door. Brought our own champagne to wash down some good pizza in front of the big screen for a funny movie. Needless to say we were very happy! read more

I'd rather stay at a dirty motel 6. Hot tub had way too many chemicals (and thats the best part). Carpets were filthy, bathrooms had not been cleaned, doors had archaic locks (like what you would have at home-- but not secure) and no staff after 9pm. We loved our stay in this beautiful town of Red Lodge. Our cabin was just perfect for my husband and me and our travelling dog, Dexter. The cabin was pretty standard and rustic, but there was a small kitchen, fridge and stove top that fit our needs for a few days. Unfortunately, my husband needed to work during this trip and the internet in all the cabins was taken out by lightening before we arrived, but the front desk was very accommodating and offered him an empty room in the hotel to work during the day. The town has great little shops and restaurants and arts and crafts. It's also close to the famous Beartooth Pass, which we stumbled upon and were so happy we did. Stunning views from almost 11,000 feet up, frozen lakes and switchbacks. Well worth the visit! We will definitely stay here again. read more

Very rude. We were looking for a hotel with a warm pool for the kids and some internet. My husband went in to ask and the lady at the desk was very rude. He asked how warm the pool was and she said why do you care. He said that he has little kids and she said, "well that sounds like your problem." He asked if they had internet and she went and got the manager who came out and got in my husbands face . WOW, nice customer service! Don't even bother stopping. read more

Wonderful little pet-friendly hotel at the edge of Red Lodge, Montana, we stayed here for three days and had a great time. The cabin we stayed in was the perfect size for me, my wife, and our three dogs, with a small furnished kitchen area. The owners were really understanding when one of our dogs peed on one of their rugs (we cleaned it). Only downside is the listed free WiFi doesn't work in the cabins, but you can walk over to the lobby and use it from there. A very nice stay in a very pleasant little town in what for them must be their off-season, being mostly a ski resort nowadays. read more

First Yelp review, signed up because I really wanted to give my two cents on this place. Spent two nights here for a wedding in nearby Belfry. Price seemed reasonable enough, considering there is no real off season in this cute little ski town. Easily accessible right off the road, plenty of parking. Not exactly an "up to date" hotel feel, but I didn't expect much in a small town like this. Staff was friendly, check in was smooth. The single bed room I got was nice enough. It felt kind of dusty and stale, as if the window hadn't been opened in forever. Had a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, cable TV, recliner chair. Some lights didn't work, and I couldn't connect to the "free" wifi. I had a short enough stay so I didn't bother making a fuss about it. Bed was adequate, pillows were flat. I had a sneaking suspicion there were bed bugs but my itching could have been related to the dry weather. AC worked fine. Bathroom was huge (I got the handicapped accessible room) with plenty of towels and bathroom products, but one thing that irked me was that the drain was completely clogged and part of the shower head disconnected off the wall. Looked like it was already broken, just never fixed. Free breakfast was meh, just don't expect much variety than cafeteria style biscuits and gravy, cold cereal, toast and bagels, and a waffle iron. The housekeeping (which all seemed to be no older than 15 or 16) made up the room alright, but didn't vacuum up some obvious crumbs on the floor. Walls are SUPER thin, so you will hear conversations and running water next door. All in all, this place was exactly as I expected. Nothing special, but did the job. If I ever roll though town again, I'll most likely spend the same amount of money elsewhere. read more

My family and I stayed in one of the four cabins that they offer and it was so much fun! They were so clean and very nice. There is plenty of room and the set up is perfect for those who want to stay for more than one day. You have your own grill, kitchen set up and picnic table. It cost around 200.00 per night, but was one of the highlights of our trip. My only complaint was the swimming pool. It was murky and didn't smell quite right. The hotel itself isn't worth staying in, but I would definately stay in the cabins again. read more
