They offer day and evening classes and seminars for adults over age 55. Offerings change each semester but usually include a variety of art classes, writing classes, needle crafts, music, and fitness as well as seminars in Galveston history, environment, and technology, just to name a few. They offer a monthly Reader's Group, a Gardening group, and instruction in various games such as modern board games, canasta and poker. I've taken Yoga, Tai Chi, memoir writing, and several craft classes. There is so much to do there and lots of fun people to do it with. The staff are very helpful in getting you registered and suggesting activities that you might enjoy. This spring, I'm taking a class in AI, a writing class, a cooking class, and S.A.I.L. (Stay Active and Independent for Life). I love it so much, I started volunteering there last year. As a newbie to Galveston Island, this place has helped me make friends and stay healthy and active.
