We had an employee appreciation event at Dining Services at Lamar. Painting with a Twist worked with us to create a wonderful activity for our employees. Everyone had so much fun. They brought everything that was needed, set everything up and cleaned up at the end. They even brought extra stuff for the employees. I cannot recommend them highly enough, whether it is for a fun night out or a private event. read more

Not impressed. Wife wanted to do "The Office" event so we went. She said she enjoyed it but me not so much. It was overcrowded and went on way too long. It seems like it would be a good place for kids, teens and the occasional adult looking for something to do. The main thing that irritated me was when we used a fine paintbrush for details mine was more like the end of a Qtip so it looked horrible. Not saying this place is bad just not for everyone. Thank you for being so awesome, Painting with a Twist Beaumont! Our bachelorette group had a TON of fun with Heather as our instructor and Kailee as the assistant. We tried to get enough girls for a private party originally, but I was glad that we ended up being in the main room where it was loud and fun. Heather was telling jokes and easily starting conversations with the group. They were playing some great 90s alternative jams that had all us singing along -- anyone remember putting your tender heart in a blender with Eve 6? I'd done another painting with wine thing in Houston before, but this experience was better in energy and better in painting instruction. Heather was really patient in going back over steps and taking it slow, and Kailee made sure everyone had enough paint and paper towels and walked around giving us tips to make our painting look better. I think most people were happy with how their painting turned out, but even if they weren't, you weren't allowed to say anything negative about your work. They also played a game during the break of "what's the weirdest thing in your purse." And there were some weird things that made for some good laughs. I'd also like to apologize, because walking out I realized that no one from our group tipped the girls, but no one had any cash. So for anyone else coming here, please remember to bring cash, they deserve it! read more

Several of my friends had been to this type of place before, and I was always jealous that I wasn't invited. Well, it was finally my turn, and I had a friggin' blast. Part of that was the alcohol talking, part of it was the company, but a lot of it really had to do with our awesome instructor and assistant, Heather and Kailee. We had reserved space online, and checking in once we arrived was quick and easy. They assigned us to a table in the main room, and we chose a seat. There were four tables in the main room, with a private room in the back for a larger party. Part of the charm in the main room was watching other folks have a good time, and interacting with all of them. Or talking about how terrible their paintings were. Not that we did that. Ahem. We were all excited to start painting and I was a little nervous. It'd been a while since I'd done any painting and I didn't want mind to come out terrible. Turns out, I had nothing to be nervous about. Heather was exceptional at breaking it down layer by layer, piece by piece. Even going as far as telling us what brush to use and how to use it. My only small complaint would be the one bathroom for a room full of drinkers. It means you could be waiting for a few minutes depending on when you try and go. Bring cash so you can tip! We regretfully did not have any way to tip Heather and Kailee - and they sure deserved it. read more

Fair warning: all three of the current reviews of this place were in my party on the same evening, but let's be honest, there's no way the amount of fun we had was a fluke. Minutes before the event, they were super chill when we called that we were running late AND that two people in our party forgot to pre-register. They managed to squeeze in extra spaces right before we came literally running in as the clock struck 8. After waiting in the long line for the potty, I was all set-up and ready to go. The instructions were told to us in the funniest way possible, which really set the vibe for the whole night. So, it was totally not their fault when I didn't fully wrap my canvas (paint the edges) or manage to say only positive things about my own work, but only my own. Several drinks down and some of those things went out the window, which resulted in the instructor making good on her promise to paint a mustache on your face if you trash-talked your own painting. Being in the large room with all kinds of other characters made our party have even more fun than we would've being locked in the back room by ourselves, but they did manage to have two classes going at the same time. It was only mildly awkward when you had to go through their space to use the restroom mid-class. My only downside is that the price is not cheap at $35, so it will still probably be reserved for only those most special occasions. However, this place seems to be completely solvent and doing really well so if that's the price they need to charge for a good time, so be it. Highly recommend! read more

Went to my cousin's birthday party last night and had a blast. It was my first time at Painting with a twist. We couldn't stop laughing. Our instructor Jamie was super helpful, fun and professional. She was very patient with mistakes and made sure that our paintings were to our liking. My mom and I drove in from Lake Charles and it was definitely worth the drive. I would definitely visit again.
