So, I decided to suck it up and shell out a some cash for a good haircut. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's absolutely necessary to pay absurd prices for a good haircut, but I do think the probability that you'll get what you want is higher. Anyway, I gave SHAG a try last week since it's in my neighborhood and was very pleased with my haircut. After being offered a drink, I was consulted in the beginning on exactly what I wanted to do with my hair, and in the end it was one of the best cuts I've gotten since moving over here. The head message was also a nice bonus :) I'll definitely be back!

This was done in a private message. Instead of addressing each of my issues that I reviewed on a public forum as a response to the review, the owner or manager Thomas decides to continuously, in a series of messages, threaten me. Obviously this shows a serious lack of professionalism where a business owner threatens the customer privately if they don't get a positive review? This is called EXTORTION, and these actions say so much more than my words need to say.

I made the appointment online (really simple) and was able to find an appointment with Mel for the same day. The salon is really cute. The waiting area is this upstairs loft area and below are the chairs, mirrors, etc. Mel was great. I brought a bunch of pictures what I wanted (a "lob" aka long bob) and she knew exactly what I wanted. She's very easy to talk to, even in English, and very sweet. I definitely recommend this salon, especially to English only speakers. It's really scary to go to a new salon and have a language barrier but Mel made everything ok. She is definitely up to date with all the trends so you don't need to worry about getting a cut that will make you look like a soccer mom or something. Prices are reasonable. I paid about 70€ for the hair cut (I cut off about a foot of hair), which is about the same as what I paid in the states. I plan on going back to Mel in the next couple weeks to get a balayage done.

After living in Munich now for over two months, and my last haircut even longer, I went looking for a place to have a haircut without an appointment and I stumbled into Budz, and was able to get one on the spot. The stylist was very good, fast, and professional. The cut was done with all scissors, and was fairly fast, considering. With limited German skills, I was able to say that I wanted to keep my front bangs, but clean up the back and sides. That was about all I said, yet without being able to communicate much, she was able to get it to the length I wanted, without much back and forth. Additionally, at nearly all my previous hair cut places that I used to go to, after getting a hair cut usually meant coming home and showering, to get all the excess strands of hair out of my head (and also dumping the clothes that I had gone to the hair cut in, into the wash to also rid them of the itchy strands of cut hair). After this hair cut, I had nearly NO excess hair in my shirt or on my head. While the price is a little more expensive than what I used to pay in LA and in the SF bay area, it's not so much more, and the quality was pretty amazing. I will probably be coming back here for my hair cuts in the future.

I had alexia and she was incredibly professional and even spoke English. I am so happy with it and will go back for sure. Would really recommend them and especially if you have had bad experiences in Munich and feel like no one will be able to help you, I went many places for 30 and it was extra for drying or washing and they could not speak English which is my fault but frustrating when they yelled at me. Anyway- just pay more go here!

Since years I go to Held's saloon although I find it is very expensive! But up to today it was ok. NOW for 200 Euro - including cut, colour and shape - they are no more able to colour the hair without bigger gaps of non-colouring. I could not believe my eyes. Then I talked to the owner Held when I realized the deficitary colouring, after even a short refusal she gave me a new date for colouring again the bad parts - the whole forhead was obviously full of gaps; at this date today - instead of trying at least by proper behaviour to calm the client down in such a situation - the female owner had nothing else to do than shouting more or less loudly - I mean I could hear it clearly - to her employees being busy on my head that instead of my yearlong hairdresser woman there - a young man - who actually is more than friendly and well doing but still in education - should do this because it would be too much time to spend on my hair by a hairdresser with a lot of experience. And even him she sent then to another client and I got a third person working on my head. This is more than impertinent - I have no words for this! How people nowadays earn 200 Euro - I have also no words for this!! By the way they have no more Kevin Murphy colours anymore what I had for years there. I warn to go to this shop!
