I usually go to a different establishment for facials, however, due to Covid I am limited. Sonia was on her phone while doing my facial (texting), did not wash her hands before touching my face after having returned from outside and after being on the phone. Did not acknowledge my discomfort I experienced from a cooling mask that was not supposed to be part of the facial (kept saying "these are the best products, no one has ever complained before"). When I asked for her to take it off there was silence because she had left me with the mask on while she went outside to talk on the phone. When she finally came back inside my face felt like it was burning. She said "No your face is not even red look. These are the best products, you know." I told her "I never said it burned my face, I said it felt like it was burning. It was uncomfortable and I wanted it off but you were not here to take it off." She never truly acknowledged my discomfort, she just kept hyping up her products, which smelled old, frankly. She also did not give a decent massage as advertised in the description online. She was running 20 minutes behind; she blamed the client in front of me instead of professionally owning it. I saw another client's private demographics and medical concerns/history/goals. Sonia ran out of demographic forms; so, she gave me one that someone else had already completed. She told me to write next to this client's information in blue ink, so she could distinguish the client data later while at home. What if that other client didn't want me to know her private information and medical concerns/history/goals? When massaging product into my face, she got close to my eyes and it felt like product got into my right eye. My eyes felt weird and when I looked in certain directions there was a slight film that blurred my vision in my right eye; this lasted a couple of hours after my session with Sonia. Lastly, before the massage she stood there and said, "Okay, take your top off." She did not leave the room while I disrobed. I turned around and modestly took off my shirt and slipped into the robe. It was so awkward. I'm used to the aesthetician saying, "I'll step out, please disrobe and get under the cloth on the table. I'll be back in a few minutes." Then the person will usually knock before re-entering the room. Needless to say, I'll not return to this place. I'm grateful because my usual gal has opened up again! Sonia makes you feel SO comfortable. I came here for my first time ever Brazilian and wow. I was in and out in 20 minutes. She uses hard wax which is softer on the skin especially down there. I've been there 4 times already and I'm never gonna go anywhere else for a Brazilian. Obviously it's gonna hurt. You're getting hair pulled from a very sensitive area. WOW. so before Sonia I went to another place that charged me 60+ for a Brazilian and used the paper strips...i was convinced that there was no better alternative... then I met Sonia. i decided to get a wax 2 days before a vacation and she came in 2 hours earlier than my appointment time for me!! This is the place to go!! I went for my first time today for a Brazilian wax (not my first wax, just first time here) and it was one of the best experiences I've had. Sometimes this type of service can feel uncomfortable when trying a new place, but right away Sonia was very welcoming and extremely kind. She reminded me several times that she's seen everything and has been doing this for years so there is no need to be shy or feel like you're going to be judged. I told her about some of my insecurities with the ingrown hairs and she was so positive that it can all be healed and taken care of when done and dealt with properly. She gave me some tips of do's and don'ts that I plan to follow. What I love most is that she didn't try to push any products, she actually believes that no product is best when trying to reform your skin and hair down there. Also, this was probably the least painful wax I've ever had. She has different wax for different areas and hair growth down there and a certain procedure she follows. She uses hard wax, so no strips! That was a new experience for me and I liked it a lot better. I am still fairly new to the Merced area and have tried one other place earlier in the year and definitely felt uncomfortable the whole time. The lady doing the wax wasn't the best people person. I felt she was kind of rude and she charged extra if your hair was too long and if you wanted anything outside of your crease, which is still the bikini area in my opinion. I highly recommend her. Hands down one of the very best place to get a Brazilan wax. If it's your first time getting a Brazilan or bikini wax she will make you feel at ease. She will explain to you about the whole process and also very understanding. I been to another place in Merced to get a Brazilian wax and the chick I went to didn't even bother to make sure the wax areas was hair free. It still had fine hair and didn't bother to use a tweezer to remove stubborn hair (she uses the blue hard wax and charge $65). But with Vandana she makes sure you are the waxing area is hair free. She uses two types of waxing. One for thick hair and one for fine hair. She will also use a tweezer to get stubborn hair that won't come out from using hard wax (it's the little details that they put in ladies!) For the services Vandana charge ($45) it is a lot cheaper than the chick I went to. read more
