He kept a note pad in his shirt pocket with her favorites. Basically anything but maple creams. (And I agree). Just a personal preference. This same Pap would send me a beautiful package so foiled eggs & fruit nut & peanut melt away eggs to Florida when I lived there So now I live in California & ordering $200 in chocolates to share is my sweet blessings to my friends. They have a huge selection of chocolate based (and some non-chocolate) based candies. They also have a ton of sugar free options which is great for those watching their sugar. We tried a variety of treats which were tasty- I particularly enjoyed the chocolate caramels. I was a little disappointed that the kind girls working behind the counter couldn't explain what some of the candies were, but they did offer to let me try one which made up for it some. We also tried a box of their chocolate covered strawberries, but were a bit disappointed as they were a little sour and not very good. However the other chocolates we got were amazing and worth returning!

Eric's was a dining option chosen by a diverse group of people seeking a takeout option that appeared to suit everyone's tastes. I was one in this group and the only one to choose the Chicken Stir Fry. I like stir fry. I make variations of it at home and it's generally a filling dish with a lot of fresh ingredients and the familiar Asian flavors we all love.....ginger, garlic, sesame, soy, etc. First issue with this particular 'stir fry'? The chicken was described on the menu as being sautéed. There is absolutely NO WAY this chicken had ever seen the surface of a sauté pan. It was bland and left zero doubt that it had been boiled, cubed, and simply thrown in the mix at the last minute. Secondly, the menu claims that the dish includes water chestnuts (common in stir fry). There were none. Not a one. And I LOVE water chestnuts. I will tell you what there was though. Grapes. There were grapes in my stir fry. Hot, deflated, sad little grapes. The vegetable (and fruit) medley also included asparagus and green beans. I mean, I do like both vegetables, but rarely when they are covered in a gallon of salty teriyaki with some boiled chicken and flaccid grapes.... Which brings me to my next point. There was so much teriyaki that my rice was drowning. The whole dish read more like a sweet soup than a chicken stir fry. It was awful. Simply awful. I wish I could wrap up this critique with some small redeeming comment regarding my first and only experience with Eric & Renee's Gourmet Take-Out Shoppe. Unfortunately, when your entire meal is destined for the trash bin, it's hard to find the silver lining.
