It is a blessing and a curse that Beccofino is located directly across the road from where I live, as I have an ongoing love affair with anything Italian. The food, the wine, the way of life. It just makes sense to me that people should be able to eat and drink unashamedly. Beccofino is the best place to embrace this sort of Italianism! Whether you're after some delicious takeaway or a beautiful dine in meal, this restaurant is the place to come. The service is always impeccable, and the staff are always well versed in the food and the specials. Not once that I have been there have they ever read the specials off a piece of paper- they know exactly what's in all the food. The owner Paolo runs a tight ship, and it's not uncommon for him to rouse on his staff in front of customers, but it's all in the name of exceptional service. One thing that can be difficult with Beccofino is that they don't take bookings. I've had to wait for a table on a few occasions, but it's usually on a busy weekend and I've never waited longer than half and hour...plus, it's worth it! With the menu changing seasonally, and the specials changing nightly, there is always something new and delicious to sample. My personal favourite dishes are the affettati misti for primi (warmed marinated olives, grissini and a series of cured meats) and linguine all' astice (linguine with bug meat, chilli, cherry tomatoes, garlic and white wine sauce). Coupled with a bottle of the Speri La Roverina Valpolicella from Veneto, it makes for an unforgettable meal. Whether you're impressing someone on a first date, celebrating a special occasion or just a lover of great Italian food, you really do need to pencil a trip to Beccofino in your diary!

Forget celebrity chef restaurants with inspired by Italy menus. When it comes to needing that home cooked-style Italian meal (and short of selecting Pavarotti on Spotify and cooking something myself), Beccofino is where I make a beeline for. I'd say make a reservation for but you can't, you just have to hope you arrive during a lull and can be seated pronto. And sure, you could venture into the pizza menu but I'm predictable at best and stick to a standard order of calamari to start and a main of their signature duck ragu. It really doesn't get any closer to soul food than this for me. It can make a dull day brighter and feel like a warm hug that says, "Chin up, poppet. It's all going to be okay." So next time someone in your group says, "I feel like Italian!" You've got just the place to show off your mad local knowledge. You're welcome!

My friends were claiming Beccofino has the best pizza in New Farm/Tenneriffe, so we had to see if they were right. We popped in for an early dinner on a Tuesday night before a show at the Powerhouse. Lucky we arrived just after 6pm, because by 6:45pm this place was heaving. People were waiting for tables to free up and it wasn't letting up by the time we left at 7:30pm. Beccofino has lovely atmosphere, Lounge music playing leisurely throughout the restaurant. Their wine list was mostly made up of Italian wines - YUM. 3 of us ordered Pizzas (Funghi Misti, Bresaola and Salsiccie) and one ordered the Linguine all' Astice after reading another Yelp review saying it was delicious. Probably because we had gotten our orders in before the rush, the kitchen was extremely fast and we had our meals no more than 10 minutes after ordering. The pizzas are really large, but that crust is just so delicious and thin, if you split one pizza between two people you would definitely need something else. Each table gets a basket of bread and olive oil to nibble on, and the olive oil is something out of this world. If you have not had good olive oil before, you must try it! We managed to squeeze in dessert as well and tried both the Semifreddo and the Pannacotta. The Semifreddo is described as "Homemade Nougat and Chocolate Icream" and I guess I thought that would mean Nougat, plus chocolate ice-cream. However it is vanilla ice-cream with nought and chocolate pieces through out - which is even better than what I thought it was. This was the highlight dessert, sadly there was only one piece left by 7pm. The Pannacotta was also delicious and a lighter option if you're not a fan of sweet ice-cream and chocolate. For 4 people eating mains and dessert, 3 drinking soft drink and 1 drinking wine, it came to $140. For a Tenneriffe restaurant, I think that's pretty reasonable. And I definitely think their pizza is up there, close to being the best pizza I've had in Brisbane! My friends also told me Beccofino does takeaway too!

The calzone pizza was huge and delicious. It could feed two people! Although there were a lot of people during dinner, we were given a table in about 30 minutes. Try also the gelato nearby!

The Tartufo pizza. Delicious and full of truffle!

The best pizza and pasta in Brissy - except for their second venue at Julius. The service can be a bit uppity at times depending who you get, and how good looking of a female you are! But service is generally good with amazing food. The pizza bases are the cloest you will find to a Napoli style pizza base although Julius is a bit better for this. They have a great selection of wines including Italian wines that aren't easy to find elsewhere. You will love the food! My tips are the Duck Pappardelle, Tartufo pizza or the Calamari Fritti. Yum!

Since he, as well as all the reviews that I had seen claimed that this place was the best pizza in Brisbane, a few of us decided to go out and grab some for dinner. Like any other pizza joint, Soul Pizza has the plastic benches and stools for seats - nothing too fancy. There's a mural on one wall, but don't be expecting a comfy restaurant, cause it's all about the pizza! The pizzas aren't gourmet pizzas, with fancy ingredients like hand-shaven parmesan, arugula, and the like - but they are humongous and generously filled with toppings. For about $15, you can feed a good four people! The crust isn't thin-crust, but is a good thickness and texture, though a bit difficult to handle with one hand. They offer a variety of choices, including their own creations... I had the Porto Peri (15), which was a bit too spicy for me, and the spiciness covered up the flavour of everything else, which I kind of didn't enjoy. It could have used a bit more of another spice. I also got to try the BBQ Hog Fest (17), which is topped with lots of meat and a BBQ sauce. It's apparently the most popular one! I enjoyed it better than the Porto Peri, as the flavour of the toppings weren't masked by the sauce. Though these weren't the best pizza I've ever had, they seem to be consistent, and are definitely good for the value.

Definitely tastes like Australia bc of the Australia bacon. Satisfying and affordable. Price is around 15$ for a 12inch size so it's good for sharing for two or three people. I've eaten a whole 9inch one alone but it did take some effort. Casual dine in our take out. There are tables outside in the courtyard which is nice on days with good weather. And not right on traffic either so it's a plus.

We started with pizza breads, a lovely crisp roast garlic thin crust pizza cut into 6 generous slices each. The Gnocchi al forno was a deliciously cheesy entree with perfectly cooked gnocchi in a tapas style ceramic dish. I will definitely be ordering this the next time I visit Ciccio's. The Parpadelle with slow roasted beef cheek was lovely and tender and it came with a slice of crusty bread to mop up the delicious sauce. The Gnocchi della casa had crispy cubes of pancetta and the gnocchi was perfectly cooked and then lightly pan fried so it was crispy and delicious. That should have been my first clue. Top seems cooked but base was spongy. I considered asking them to cook it longer but never saw my server again except when she took and delivered orders to the tables near me. Hardly any toppings and the tender potato slices were raw. Bummer because I was excited and looking forward to the pizza as we have similar one at a pizza place near me but they can't do a gluten free crust. I would have order a second, even a third martini but Katherine never came to check on me. Never asked how my food was or if I wanted another drink. I ate half my pizza and sat for 30 minutes without seeing Katherine again before I flagged another employee down to ask for a takeaway box. To pay, you go up to the bar. Maybe it's a good thing that my server never checked on me because my tab was only $57.50 - $.50 when you use a credit card to pay even though they are cashless. You can avoid the fee if you pay by debt. Had she checked on me I would have ordered another martini. So instead of a bill of $80, she saved me $23. Would I come back again? Not sure.
