Nate was on it! Anytime we needed anything he was on it. Bring a hoodie and electric blanket, it stays cool. read more

This place is a-fricking mazing!!! I mean you are staying in a cave! Sure, the floors are wet and it's a little cool but you are staying in a cave. What a unique experience! The beds were super comfy, the kitchen was tricked out and the sound system and rain showers rocked. Nate and Randee were fantastic hosts! Take the ATV tour of the property, the views are incredible and it's great fun to climb those hills. It's definitely worth the money. I wish I could give it more than five stars. read more

I typically prefer two helipads at my vacation lodge. Only one here, so you will have to plan accordingly. An incredible property...we stayed the weekend with friends and were thrilled by the interior features, great decor, technology and fire pit. The staff was great, and many nearby hikes, caves and even a Buddhist temple added to the local flavor. Bring your own wine (dry county), be prepared that the WiFi works-but is limited. Spend the money, enjoy the luxurious seclusion. Go find "Alien Rock". read more

The arrival wow factor is amazing...a house in a cave! However once this has passed there are some issues. 1. Ticks and bugs...these are quite plentiful and by plentiful I mean you need to wipe the ticks out of your chair before you sit down. 2. Open hot electrical boxes. If you have smaller children, check the areas out. We had to duct tape a open hot box closed as my son was shocked. 3. Many lights do not work. The huge feature on entrance had no working lights and no way to turn these on. The upstairs master had very few lights that worked as well. The caretaker, whom was very nice, had no knowledge of how to get the smart system to work to turn on the additional lights. 4. No dvd player as advertised. Not a big deal to some but after a hot day outside the kids could not sit back and watch a movie as promoted. 5. Master bed was not usable. Water drips from the cave ceiling and the bed was soaked. 6. Extremely dirty windows. There are very few windows in the home and these were horrendously dirty. There could have been a great view from the second floor loft above the kitchen if you could have been able to see it. 7. Minimal amount of dishes. If you are a larger party (more than 8) bring your own plates, glasses, bowls, silverware, etc. or you will end up having to share with someone. 8. It is cold, not cool, cold. Bring slippers or socks as bare feet hitting the concrete floor will wake you up instantly. 9. No instructions for the home. This is the first bnb that we have stayed where there are no instructions for the home itself. If a home is ran by a smart system, these are needed. 10. Maintenance is lacking. Exterior areas of wood need re stained, deck areas needed swept off, wet towels all over the floors at arrival, cabinet doors and exterior doors all had hard times closing and opening, electrical was a big issue. This is quite a unique place but for the price of what you pay a night I did not expect to have all of the above issues. read more

I was somewhat concerned after reading a couple of the more recent reviews. I made contact with the property manager who assured me that things had been corrected...AND THEY WERE. The place was impeccable. It is a marvel to look at and to think you can stay is even more wild. We really could not have been more pleased with the overall trip. read more

History
Established in 1989.
Beckham Creek Cave Lodge has a rich and diverse history dating back to the days of Jesse James and his outlaw gang that used the cave for their hideout when traveling through the the NW part of the Ozark Mountains. Then, in the prohibition era, bootleggers set up a moonshine still inside the cave and when excavation began in the 1980's, the old still was mostly intact. John Haye, co-owner of Celestial Seasonings Tea, bought the property and had the cave excavated and a bomb shelter was built inside it. Later, it was sold to a gentleman from Missouri who turned it into a world-class nightclub. On opening day, it is reported that celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson, Sylvester Stallone and his family, etc., dropped in via helicopters onto our heli-pad and waved at the locals that were allowed to watch from a distance. After the nightclub, the cave was turned into a Bordello, then a lodge which it has remained as till this day.
