Roman was our guide and spent over 3 hours with us. He was great with our kids and equally great with us. Roman put our kids in a front cart and biked them for us so my wife and I could enjoy the tour riding solo. The bikes are quite nice--probably the best we've had on a bike tour (and we've done these in a number of cities). He knew his stuff and the politics, which made it all the more interesting. The small group turned out to be my wife and myself, which was a surprise, but it did not faze him. He conducted a FULL tour, and then when it was supposed to be finished, he brought us to a few other places, and then when THAT was finished, he wanted to keep us longer. Pretty amazing. We liked him and his personality. If you ever come across this option, I would like to enthusiastically recommend Mario Kamal Ramzy Fahim Gadalla. He goes by Mario. We were a little confused when the address for…read more"Bikify Amagerbro" was actually some other bike shop, so we weren't 100% sure that we were in the right place. The bikes were great! I didn't expect to have such brand new bikes. One thing however, since they were so new, the handlebars on one of the bikes were loose, so we stopped at another shop to get them tightened, but that was a minor inconvenience. Also, in our use, we only needed the bikes for roughly 24 hours, but we needed to pay for 2 whole days to get this since the policy is to return the bikes by closing per day. I've rented previously in Copenhagen and know other shops vary their pricing based on when the bikes are picked up and dropped off. The shop closed at 2pm on Saturday, which fit with our schedule, but for others this could be limiting if you want to return the bike later in the day. We chose the shop because it was located near the apartment we were staying at, so the location, for us, was good. If we stay in the area again in the future we would probably use Bikify again. Reserving/paying online ahead of time was a plus as well!

Update because today I ran into a problem. One of the bike locks would not work, and somehow…read moreactivated the timer. In other words, it had me renting a bike when it was in operable. The main problem was getting in connection with customer service. The chat feature through a bot with no human person was a waste of time. When I tried to call, I had to wait and ran out of minutes with my phone plan. I had to buy another pass until I got home to contact them again, 30 minutes wasted as they were not available for English agents . Before the incident: I bought a seven day pass which allows you to enter multiple times for total five hours for 99 Kronas. I especially like that you don't have to go to a docking station, but you can use the lock feature to park anywhere within a radius on the app. Only reason I give it five stars is the pass is slightly confusing to use. You must lock and cancel the ride, so it's two steps. Otherwise, you will have a continuous clock running, even if the bike is parked. Also to find the bike can be tricky. When there's multiple bikes each one has a name which you must match with the app. I think it'd be better to have a QR code, but not all of them do.

My husband Matt B. noticed Donkey Republic's orange bikes everywhere, and we decided to rent two of them on our last day in town. We spent 70 DKK each on a six-hour rental, and this was probably the best deal we got on anything in Copenhagen, where a hot dog and soda will set you back the same amount. I'm always turned off by anything that seems like it could be a pain in the ass, so believe me when I tell you that Donkey Republic is easy to figure out. You have to download an app, but once you do that, you can just go where bikes are available and rent from your phone, without ever talking to another person. You unlock and lock your bike from the app, which is even fun and kind of satisfying, and at the end of the day, you can drop off at one of their numerous locations and pay from your phone. We started our rental at 1:30 on a Tuesday afternoon, and rode from the city center to Nørrebro, where we had lunch, then through Østerbro, Frederiksberg, and Vesterbro, hitting up parks, The Cisterns, and the original Mikkeller Bar before heading back to our hotel at 7:30. We got to explore a lot of Copenhagen in one day, and the bike ride was essential to our sightseeing. I'm a slow, terrible biker, something Matt pointed out frequently on this day and after ("You wouldn't believe the people who were passing you"--a lot of old people and children, apparently), but I still had a tremendous time biking around the city. The experience added so much to our trip. If you're visiting Copenhagen, download Donkey Republic. It's easy and affordable, and your trip will be better for it.

It's a little chaotic purchasing riches because the boarding lines, the ticket lines, and the prepaid ticket people are all in the same area. Lines crisscrossing. It sends like it could be very easy door someone to cut in line, but they seem to think it works for them, so ok. The ride is about 45 minutes to an hour. It really helps having a lively guide because to be honest, there's not that much to see, at least not up close. But there are clever looking buildings, like the one that looks like Tobeleron. There are nearby floating bars and restaurants. And there's even a binge humbling place across the waterway. You get to see the little mermaid statue... but only from the backside!!!

We'd been on boat tours in other cities, and it's usually one of the best things we do. You see things not from the perspective of a motor vehicle on a highway, or a train moving down the track, but rather as people did hundreds of years ago when moving across the sea or through waterways. The seats were ok, not the most comfortable, but not bad. The narration in English was excellent. I could put up many photos and a few videos of tight under-bridge passages, beautiful buildings, interesting boats, and so on. I'll leave that task to others, and keep my review uncluttered. Boat rides are great fun, young or old, no matter the level of fitness. Avoid the heat of the day, maybe aim at the final cruise of the day, and I believe you'll enjoy it.
