Would not recommend this company! Unprofessional and rude. I will not be calling him for any services now or in the future.

Stride Pest Control - The best possible service in the nicest possible way

Stride Pest Control

Stride Pest Control is customer-centered from front office to the folks who come to your home. Our…read moreguy on the ground is Ramone. We have had lots of pest control folks, over the course of nearly 40 years and homes in 4 states. Have not had a smiling, gregarious, knowledgeable, thorough technician as Ramone. He seeks to ensure that we are in good shape and satisfied, and will follow up as needed without reminders He's A+. The world needs more people like him. That being said, we're grateful for the original.

The overall rating of this business is five stars. I decided to scan through the over 160 reviews…read moreand discovered that most of them were written by people with less than 20 reviews to their name. I tend to dismiss those reviews since they don't really have much skin in the Yelp game. There were just two elite reviews and that was a red flag to me as well. Nonetheless, I decided to give this company a chance and got a same day appointment to rid us of our carpenter ant issue. We've had carpenter ants running up and down our garage exterior for a long time and in the last few days we've had flying ants show up in our living room. It was time to bring in the pros. One thing you need to be aware of is that you can schedule an appointment for this service, but like most pest control companies, they will insist on a quarterly service agreement on top of the initial service. Our initial service cost was $134 which included a $75 discount that came with a $53 monthly payment for each quarterly visit. That comes to over $700 a year ( not including termite issue) for the basic service which does not apply to fire ants. Since I accepted the discounted initial service I had to sign up for a years worth of service before I had the option to cancel. That's something you need to keep in mind because that's a lot of money just to snuff out a few ants. The one and done service doesn't really pay the bills, it's the subscription service that drives the business. My same day appointment was scheduled between noon and three, they ( tech +trainee) showed up shortly after two. I let the tech know about the ant issue and we walked around the perimeter of the property while he swept away wasp nests. Inside he sprayed some powder in the upstairs attic while looking for any possible rodent infestation. The tech did spot some termite activity at the corner of the garage. After spraying the perimeter and infected areas with poison, he then treated the yard with ant bait that looked like Andro. We decided against spraying chemicals indoors due to sensitivities. The discovery of termites greatly added to the bill as pictured below. I'll go ahead and get the termite service and the quarterly check up during the contract period. I thought I would include all the bills and pertinent information so that you can get some idea of what you might experience. One thing that did catch me off guard was that after they left, I received a brief survey which then led me to a tip screen for the tech. It's not that he didn't deserve a tip, it was just the first time I had seen this form of online solicitation. Overall great experience with knowledgeable and friendly techs, not real happy about being funneled into a monthly payment plan for quarterly visits, but we'll see where that leads. Check out the photos. Possible updates may follow.....perhaps leading to a 5th star.

Comon Sense Pest Management - Entomologists are good for what's buggin' you!

Should have posted this long ago ... In Summer 2011 learned…read moreI had bed bugs (yuk)! I contacted apt management, said it's my problem, can use pest control they use but we have to pay. Apt used well known commercial service, looking @ $500 cost. My bf knew of Dr Faye, so I reached out to him .. while it cost us more, it was worth it since he used an organic compound (took care of granddaughter few times each week). He did such a great job he was able to 'rescue' a piece of furniture with sentimental value + there was no need for follow-up treatment! Fast forward to 2019 ... bed bug scare at current residence, called Dr Faye, he came .. said no bed bugs (whew!) and charged fairly for his time. Dr Faye is a great person, respectful of his clients, and is fair and ethical businessman.

Through the website I learned about the "least toxic" but highly effective approach they use, and "Integrated Pest Management". The owner/operator of the company, Dr. Faye, came to our house to do a survey of our (roach) problem and explain his methods. A PhD entomologist with international credentials! An extraordinarily knowledgeable man who is most generous in sharing his expertise. My wife and I learned so much, and enjoyed his visit...his treatment of the house was quite thorough and the materials used (which I believe included proprietary blends of a number of natural oils or extracts, as well as some other products which are considerably safer than most of the poisons customarily used by the chain exterminators) left a pleasant odor behind; and so far the treatment seems to have been very successful. Price was more than fair, and I couldn't be happier with the service. I recommend him completely.

Since starting service, we've noticed a significant reduction in both mosquitoes and flies. Gus is always professional, friendly, and takes the time to answer questions and explain what he's doing. He's reliable, thorough, and genuinely cares about making sure the treatments are effective. Totally worth every penny! It's been nice being able to spend more time outdoors without constantly swatting bugs. If you're looking for someone knowledgeable and dependable for mosquito and fly control, I highly recommend Gus and the team at Bulwark Exterminating.

Normally they send a very last minute notification right before arriving, which is already frustrating and not enough time to prepare, but today there was no notice at all. Our dogs were not put away and suddenly there was a stranger in our backyard unannounced. Thankfully we were home because our dogs could have gotten out or potentially harmed the technician. This was completely unprofessional and honestly unsafe. Customers beware if you value communication, scheduling respect, and basic courtesy before someone enters your property.
