Pavillion Gardens Cafe is a wonderful summer sitting spot, a great outdoor space with cheap drinks,…read morecakes and the like, and an easy place to wile away many an hour. Somewhere like Brighton, where it is hard to find a place to just sit and be, especially in a natural environment, this cafe is the ideal place to be when the sun is beating down. I really can't recommend it enough.
The food and drink on offer, while lovely, is the least impressive of what the cafe has to offer. The selection is wide, but I generally wouldn't recommend eating here beyond a lovely slice of cake and the impressive selection of teas and coffees. What I come here for is the wonderful ambiance. With the hustle and bustle of New Road behind you, and the calming, quiet Pavillion Gardens in front, as well as plenty of tree cover in the warm summer months, this is the ideal place to sit and soak up the rays. There's even a tree chart telling you what is what, which is a lovely addition.
In the end, you're not going to get much out of the ordinary at this cafe, plastic seats and all, but the location is divine. If it isn't too busy here, grab a seat and absorb some sun!
