I first saw Lori two months after I had a miscarriage. My body was extremely tense, and my expectation was that I'd get one massage to help myself relax and that would be it. Instead, it was the beginning of a nurturing relationship that saw me through the birth of our son over a year later! Lori's massages are unlike any massages I've ever had before. This is not your typical day spa massage experience (which I enjoy, don't get me wrong - but this is a whole different level). Lori really takes time to understand what's going on with you, and tailors the massage accordingly. I have to say, my body has never felt so good. I've never considered myself to have "back issues," but I do carry tension in my shoulders, and my back has never felt better. Lori helped my body to recover from the miscarriage and helped me feel physically and emotionally ready to try to get pregnant again through IVF. Not only did my body feel good, but my energy and spirit were improved as well. I've worked with Lori for almost a year now. When I first saw her I was trying to conceive and became pregnant soon after. During the pregnancy I have seen her on a very regular basis. I attribute my healthy, natural birthing experience to Lori's HypnoBirthing instruction. I had so much confidence when I went into labor because of her classes. Throughout the entire birthing process I was able to recall and apply specific visualizations exercises. During contractions, I was able to go within myself and recall the affirmations on the HypnoBirthing CDs she provided. I know that being able to enter the HypnoBirthing state allowed for a gentle experience for both myself and my baby. Lori is fantastic. She really knows what she's doing and has been helping me deal with lower back and psoas issues for the past nine or so months. She really listens to me each time I come in and works hard to give my body exactly the treatment it needs. She is firm but gentle and always makes sure I'm okay with the pressure. We've done internal pelvic therapy a number of times, and although it was a new experience for me, she made me feel completely relaxed. She also makes sure to give me exercises to work on at home, and it's clear that she is invested in my health and improvement. She is chill, friendly, and cooler than I will ever be, although she has no pretension about her. My husband and I took Lori's Hypnobirthing class and are so grateful that we did. This is our first birth and we were looking for something to help prepare us. I went to Lori for a pre-natal massage and had been having nerve pain in my hip for months that even a chiropractor hadn't been able to help with. Not only was my hour massage very relaxing, extremely helpful in helping relieve tension in my whole body, but helped alleviate my hip pain significantly! I had also been experiencing pelvic pain on both sides due to my growing son and that tightness improved as well. I highly recommend her if you have any discomfort in your pelvis related to pregnancy or if you just want a great massage.
