Basing it off false information. I had to eventually file three complaints against the insurance company to get them to get this approved talked to their doctor and now since ive been doing treatment and im finally on the right appropriate dose for the other things I've been dealing with I just feel like it's much better end enjoyable in life than it used to be. I am just really glad Zeke helped advocate for me and of course I had to push it up further to get things done because they clearly (UHC) was not reading my documents. It's nice to have a doctor and office that has really helped me through this process and to be able to have a doctor that listens as well. The prior one who i used to go to would just never give it enough time for things to work and I am very sensitive to medicines and im very self aware of what I need due to not being my first rodeo and not blindly trusting as that lead to me being sicker and hospitalized. So far not been hospitalized from my time here as they have listened and been there through the process. Im just glad im finally being listened to and given the support I need to manage everything.

I was unable to gain access, even though I had previously registered in the system. There was nothing in the initial message or follow-up messages that indicated service would be denied if I did not fill out the electronic forms. I went to the office on the scheduled day and was told that I needed to go online fill out the registration forms. The receptionist sent me a new link, which never worked. I asked for paper forms, and she told me they were no longer using paper forms. The office manager informed me that it was a company decision, that it did not make sense to her, but that she could not let me see the doctor if I did not fill out the electronic forms. They did not have any tablets on hand for people whose devices would not connect to their network. We walked out of the office without seeing a doctor because my device would not access their server. There is no world in which that makes sense, especially in a professional healthcare network where the patient's care should always take priority. Dr. Kuo is a great doctor, it is difficult for me to believe he knows about this type of screening. My issue is with the medical group.

It appeared her eyes were dilated, and she seemed paranoid, agitated, and defensive--behavior that made us question whether she was in the right frame of mind to help others. Amy couldn't explain why I was being denied services. She denied that they offer LGBTQ care, even though it is explicitly stated in their brochure. I apologized to my partner for taking off work and wasting their time, because we have to take off a lot of days off for doctors appointments due to disability. Amy became hostile, inserting herself into our conversation. She even threatened to withhold my medication if I kept advocating for myself. When I asked Amy for her business card, she got really aggravated and upset. I wanted to file a complaint against her. When I called a week later to file a complaint, the receptionist shockingly redirected me to Amy, who immediately hung up on me. This clinic is neither LGBTQ-friendly nor professional. Their highest-level provider is a nurse practitioner (Amy), not a psychiatrist or psychologist. Doctors with advanced degrees have far more education, training, and expertise to address mental health needs. Avoid this clinic at all costs.

We found Gabe and he completely changed the trajectory of our relationship. It was our very first time seeking help from a therapist, and it was a scary step. Going into couples counseling, it is easy to have the mindset that 1 session will fix everything. In reality, it takes weeks and months of work to establish a good, trusting relationship with your therapist so that they can dig into the deeper root causes of the issue, instead of just giving you a bandaid that will only help temporarily. I appreciate the structure Gabe has in place to understand us individually, our goals as a couple, and the problems we were having. We could tell from the start that Gabe's goal was to help us get our relationship back on track, and not to judge or offer opinions about whether we were still compatible. This was very important to us - even though we knew we had problems, we were still both very committed to trying to make the marriage work. Gabe helped us work through issues both big and small, he gave us tools to use individually based on our own personalities and past history, and tools to also use as a couple. I am so happy to say that my husband and I have had huge improvements and we are in a much happier place that I feel confident we can sustain without weekly counseling meetings.
