If you're looking for cheap by all means shop at Woolworths across the way (many others do). But if you want quality produce for your guests where they can taste the difference, this is a great place to shop. They also have a great website with loads of recipes and an online store where you can order meat to be delivered. Feast at Unley offers truly outstanding products and lovely, old-fashioned service.

The sausages were yummy and I will be back to try their chicken, cinnamon and apple sausages or traditional gourmet chicken variety. High end prices but excellent quality product.

Word of mouth pointed me this way. Otherwise, I would have kept driving past. Why do they have so many awesome beers? Well, influence from the Highway Hotel. This is really awesome for this end of town as there is not another bottleo that offers this big of a range. Next stop for crafties would be closer to town. Correct me if I am wrong! Not a bad wine selection too. There were a few of the smaller boutique drops in here amongst the bigger names. Also well priced all round. For a big brand bottle shop, this one is very good. All of these bottle shops are Australian owned and are connected to a pub so it's no like a freestanding Fassina, Dan Murphy's or a BWS. What I like about it besides being Aussie owned, is the name is so apt and the logo is very outback ocker displaying a camel and I think their prices are not too bad. They also run several competitions and offer a discount card where points can be earned towards a reduction on normal prices. Once you drive in there are lanes for express and browsing, as there's nothing worse than being stuck behind a dawdler especially when you're late for a party and all you want is a slab and get the hell out of there! Thirsty Camels have sprung up everywhere and there are many locations throughout South Australia, so have a look in the White Pages or go online to find where they are and support an Australian owned business. Did you know the Highway Inn had the 'world's' first drive through bottle shop! How's that for trivia. Adelaide really was forward in their thinking at the time anyway.

You can drive in off Oaklands Road straight into a large undercover parking space close to the entrance so there is no need to get wet or hot; all very comfortable! It is probably a bit too easy for those who go there a little more than they should. They even have shopping trolleys lined up so you can easily shop and then carry all your grog out to your car without breaking out in a sweat. I have always found the staff to be helpful, something I need as I am not much of a drinker. It is quite a large store which could probably do with better signage so you can find things more easily, especially if you are like me and don't come often enough to know the lay out or if you happen to be drunk already, in which case you may get lost even quicker. Great place for alcohol emergency's - drive in, pick up a trolley, race round loading it up, pay and whisk it out to the car, what could be easier.

The owners are French themselves, and happily engaged in a conversation with me and my own broken French. The service was quick, and the staff were friendly and seemed happy to serve. Tidbits of French culture line the walls - photos and Eiffel towers. It's alright, but does feel a bit half-hearted, which takes a little from the atmosphere. The shop is small and cosy, but may be a problem if you're bringing a large group. Mulot's patisserie is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, or immersed in French culture/the French community in Adelaide.
