I like my wine like I like my humor: hella dry. I also have a natural apprehension toward wines made east of the Mississippi. (I know -- I am too much, sometimes.) So I was a little unsure whether the wine selection at Beliveau Farm Winery would be for me. But I'm happy to say that these guys are making some great wine. Yvan and Joyce, the owners, know what they are doing in terms of grapes and wine, because they have traveled and enjoyed wine from all around the world. They have a good thing going on here. When I visited, I did a wine tasting, which was paired with different flavored potato chips. So I got to taste several different wines. I'm more of a red wine gal, but one of my favorites at Beliveau is the Crazy Professor, which is a white wine blend: Vidal Blanc, Chardonel, Pinot Gris. They also have a tasty Cab Franc (one of my favorites, too), and another Crazy Professor wine, but this one is a red called The Professor's Crazy Estate Blend, which is Cab Franc, Syrah, Merlot and Tempranillo. Almost all of my favorites in one bottle! So, yes, you will find some great Virginia wines here. You can enjoy a glass indoors or outdoors. I hope you sit outdoors, though, because the grounds are beautiful and expansive. This place is kid-friendly and pet-friendly, too. There's lots of open space for kids to run around, and some big rocks for them to climb on. read more

Beautiful spot with great wine and unbeatable views. Came here a couple weekends ago and enjoyed a flight of wine and the Vineyard pizza (topped with marinara sauce, caramelized onions, bacon, feta, roasted grapes, arugula, and balsamic glaze). I picked 3 whites/rose and one red wine for the flight (I wish they had a sparkling option!). Sat at one of the picnic tables and there was live music, just an added treat. Not a great experience and the wine and food were underwhelming. There was a wedding taking place the day we came so the inside was blocked off and the majority of the back was taken up by chairs which was expected. That was fine and understandable but when it was time for the bride to come out, we had staff rudely tell everyone at the winery to stay quiet for the entire duration of the outdoor ceremony. We understand that you'd want it to be quiet so you can hear the vows but why not section off the area you want to be quiet? I think the organization of people outside could have been handled a lot better to keep the regular winery visitors more separate from the wedding party so both wouldn't impact the expected environment. The food offered was in limited supply. They were out of quite a few items and they don't allow people to bring outside food or drinks. We settled for a charcuterie board and pizza. The pizza was simply not good. The closest thing I can compare it to is a frozen pizza. The charcuterie board was aright but there were barely any crackers for the amount of cheese and other elements they provided. There were so many flies and sweat bees outside that it was a constant battle to keep them away from the food and drinks. Eventually, they won. For drinking, we ordered the sweet wine tasting and that was not my favorite. The wines all tasted similar and didn't have enough distinction between them to really generate any sort of excitement or experience from it. They also had a water cooler outside for people to grab cups of water from. We refilled at the end of the barrel and there were a ton of black specs in our waters which was not appealing in the slightest. read more

This place is beautiful! They expect visitors to follow COVID regulations and safety measures, so I felt pretty safe enjoying my time here. All seating is outside and they wipe down the table and chairs before seating you. I've been here twice, and I'll probably make a couple more visits. We really enjoyed our visit to Beliveau Estate Winery and we got to check another Virginia winery of of our long list of places to visit! The winery is tucked away in the mountain and has a bed and breakfast on site which would make for a nice weekend getaway. My significant other and I each tried I flight and shared so we got to try 8 different wines in total. Such a gorgeous location. We had a lovely afternoon here and had the good fortune of sitting at a table next to the friendly owners Joyce and Yvan Beliveau. We learned all about the vineyard and had a really nice time enjoying everything their vineyard had to offer, including really unique delicious wines (grapes grown at their property for over a decade) and even an awesome house lavender honey saison! The snack foods and charcuterie hit the spot while we enjoyed the mountain views and even got to watch a couple say "I do" while we purchased a few bottles to come come with us. Beliveau Estate Winery was a wonderful experience for a Saturday afternoon (post hike). Upon arriving the employees were all kind, accommodating and compliant with all Covid standards. They made me and my group feel comfortable, safe and welcomed. The property itself is quaint and sweet. We strolled through their small lavender field, visited the gift shop and a few weekend vendors selling jewelry, soaps and other goods. Everyone was warm and friendly. The bar had a wide array of wines and organized the bottles (so reasonably priced or just $7 per glass) by red, white and dry to semi-sweet or sweet. Four of us split two bottles of the semi-sweet white wine. It was given to us in a bowl of ice with plastic cups. Everyone wore masks and they sold me one for $2 (masks required for everyone interacting at the bar or inside the gift shop establishment). The white win was just sweet enough and so refreshing on the warm late June afternoon. However, it was their specialty pizza that truly made the experience extra-ordinary. Their lavender specialty pizza was phenomenal. I was blown away by the lavender-infused pizza sauce. I've never had such a unique pizza and would return just for a slice of the artisanal masterpiece. It comes topped with greens, feta, grapes, bacon (which I omitted) and a lemon balsamic. The bread itself was light and the crust was seasoned and fresh tasting. I can't say enough about this pizza. Do me a favor and try it for yourself. All in all, this was the perfect treat (and reward) for an 8-mile round trip hike. Highly recommend! read more

Hidden gem in Blacksburg. Great location and beautiful winery! The tasting includes 3 reds and 3 whites for a very reasonable price. We also got a cheese board that was delicious! It had a variety of about 3 different cheese ranging from spicy to sweet. They also gave us grapes, assorted nuts, and chips. We sat outside and sipped on a bottle of Mystique Chardonnay while enjoying the view. Sad we weren't allowed to keep our glass as a souvenir but definitely worth a visit! read more

Beliveau Estate Winery is a beautiful spot; however, the wine was just okay. For $10 we were able to sample 8 wines, this was one of the worst wine tastings that I have done to date. If I had to choose two favorite wines it would be the Pristine 2015 and Serenity 2013. They do have bottles available for purchase that are not on the tasting but you have to commit without sampling. The tasting was not organized, they were not very descriptive or personal. They do serve pizza and it stole the show. It was delicious. Awesome winery! Had Bob for my tasting who did an excellent job of explaining the wines and the history of the owners and vineyard to me as well as their upcoming opening of their Brewery and the Lavender Festival this weekend. Bob was very personable and I enjoyed our chat during my tasting. I felt like we were old friends. During busy times there is a sign posted that says tastings start every 30 mins., but that may not apply during slow times. Tastings are $10 for 8 wines (4 whites and 4 reds) and a souvenir wine and glass. My favs for the summer heat were Reflection (Traminette) and Sweet Surrender (Red Table Wine). read more

Gorgeous place! The bed-and-breakfast area looks relaxing, and walking through the vineyard was nice. They hold a Grape Stomping Festival in September that is pretty fun! Adults and children could purchase tickets to stomp grapes, listen to live music, ride rescue horses on a trail by the vineyard, and shop at booths that were invited to attended. The only thing I would change is maybe putting something in for kids. A small jungle gym maybe. An area were kids can use up some of their never ending energy while the adults can sit at one of many picnic tables enjoying the winery's cheese plate. Wine and scenery is beautiful. HOWEVER the road is in dire need of resurfacing. We have a 3/4 ton truck and couldn't go over 5mph. Speed limit is 20mph. Ha, not unless you want to drop your engine, teeth and kidneys. Yes, it's very bad. We have not had rain storms around her for at least 6 months. Plenty of time to resurface. This little gem is my go to place when I want to get out of Blacksburg (been here at least 5 times). It's up on a hill, overlooking the vineyard with a gazebo and rows of lavender. Once you turn off the main road you follow a dirt road for a little while, but that's pretty common in Virginia. When to go? Wednesdays. $9.00 pizzas, that are actually really good. I'm a huge snob when it comes to the crust and they do it right. $3.00 glasses of wine. YEAH. Cheap good wine and awesome pizza. Can't go wrong. Back in January 2020, I proposed to my then girlfriend at the Beliveau Farm (she said yes!). It was a beautiful winter day, and the serene and secluded nature setting surrounded by hills and vineyards made for a picturesque proposal. Because I was proposing, I wanted to make this as special and secret as possible. I contacted Catherine (the Innkeeper) months earlier, and she helped me orchestrate the entire thing. She reserved us a room at the Manor in secret, recommended various locations to propose and sent me pictures, and looped in the entire Beliveau staff to play along. It is hard to articulate how kind a gesture this was but it a true testament to the people who work at Beliveau. After proposing, we had a grand celebration enjoying the beers and wine made by John Hildreth. We are beer/wine snobs, and I highly recommend making time to go enjoy what they have created there--we brought a whole lot home with us. I'll also add that our stay in the Manor house was amazing and comfortable, and that the breakfast in the morning was stunning and delicious. The owner of the Beliveau Farm, Joyce and Yvan, are not only wonderful people, but have truly created a gem in the woods of Southern Virginia. I 100% recommend to anyone thinking about proposing, or to anyone looking for a memorable weekend. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Few girls and I tried their wine tasting/flight, and they had variety of choices! 3 white wine and 3 red wine. My favorite was Warm Glow, semi-sweet chambourdin. I highly recommend it if you're in favor of red wine that's not too dry. The view is beautiful, the owner is extremely friendly and the grapes are so sweet. They have lavender all around the vineyard that adds a positive complement to the greeneries. Definitely worth a visit! read more

OK, so this location may be more known as a B&B vs. a winery. But as the Virginia Tech AVA is about to explode (we were told about 4 new wineries will be opening in the Blacksburg/Christensburg area in the next 2 years), Beliveau Estate is a must-see. The wines are decent, not as good as Attimo Winery, but give them time. What makes this location stand out is just that: Location. This winery is true Virginia, surrounded by mountains and fields. Two ponds teeming with dragonflies, frogs and bass (one pond has a gazebo). The staff is incredibly friendly and the tasting process is slow paced, the way it should be. The whites stood out here more than the reds. They were a bit on the sweeter side compared to Attimo, but good for chilling and consuming on a hot summer day. Beliveau seems to be a B&B first, winery second, with a lot of weddings, etc., but this is about as "almost Heaven" as you'll find in the Blacksburg area. read more

I just attended a wedding at Beliveau Farm Winery. First, the venue was beautiful, and the wines and beers served were very nice. I believe the original dinner venue was a buffet, but of course, during COVID needed to change, so it went to a family-style type of service. (When I was much younger, I was a professional waiter and did many venues myself, including a lot of banquets, especially weddings). I thought the service was the worst I had ever experienced. I felt like our table of 8 got about 2 1/2 servings for our table. No water service, they never checked on tables; I wonder how much the bride's parents were charged per person. We felt like the bride's parents were probably ripped off regarding the amount of food served. They served the food family style, and because of COVID, people were seated by households, which means some tables were small and some were larger (we had 8 and one table behind was 4 adults and another near us was 3 adults). The problem is that they served one bowl per food item per table and the bowls were the size that the three and four people finished all of their food, which meant that those at our table did not get enough. When you do family service style, you don't change the portions from a buffet; you need to make the same amount of food, and the waitering staff needs to make multiple rounds. Also, the way they served was incredibly wrong. when you serve family-style, you serve a table entirely, and you do the next and so forth and so only. (of course, first serving the bridal table. ) What they did was serve the mashed potatoes. (i got 3 small tablespoons). Then while finishing, the asparagus arrived at the table, I got 2 small asparagus and ate that, and the ravioli came later, and I got 2 1/2 (these were inch sized). I assumed more was coming, but the staff was never to be seen. Cheap and unmatched paper plates and bowls (not the nicer disposal ones ) were used for service. A venue like that should do better, much better. We left the wedding on the early side because everyone at our table was so famished, and immediately ordered several large pizzas when we got back to where we were staying. It is at a lovely vineyard, and usually, those places charge a fair amount per head. My advice is to have the wedding there, do a short reception and go somewhere else for dinner. read more

I reserved a table for 7 people to attend what was titled "VT Graduation Buffet" on Friday, May 13, 2022. Please DO NOT ATTEND THIS BUFFET IN 2023. Believe me when I say this was a complete rip off and abuse of out of town guests who would not have any idea that this place was a mess!!! The pictures on their website are an absolute farce. The road leading into the winery was extremely hilly and in dire need or resurfacing. Upon arrival, we entered the winery for our 4pm seating and the place was completely chaotic. The "buffet" consisted of bag salad, cold chicken, barbecue pork, cold buns, beans and something that I believe was supposed to be potatoes with cheese. There were two chafing dishes set up for guests to serve themselves and the rolls did not even have tongs for people to use. People were looking around asking themselves "is this place for real?" You were pretty much stuck with paying for the absolutely ridiculously over charged meal since they requested your card number in order to make the reservation. We live 5 hours away and I met another family who drove from Florida to also attend the Virginia Tech Graduation. They were just as disgusted as I was regarding this insanely ridiculous VT Buffet. This place didn't even have the decency to even bring out a fresh new sheet cake for our seating. A cake that was cut and eaten off of before we arrived was still there for us to eat as a dessert. Words cannot express how awful this lunch/dinner was. Please save your money and eat somewhere else. This was a complete abuse of out of town guests who have no idea what they are getting. You must believe the other bad reviews as they are absolutely correct. There was even a person who ordered a pizza to go and waited so long they decided to request their money back because they were late for another event at the VT campus. The owners should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for price gauging and ripping people off. I will tell everyone to avoid this place at all cost. God awful and disgusting !!! You will regret coming here. I only give one star for the wine and honestly you can buy the same wine from Trader Joe's for less (my sons comment but I totally agree). Trust me when I say "Avoid this place and save your $$$$s." I should have believed the review that was posted over 4 years ago as it said the same thing that I am saying thing. These must be their friends who wrote the good reviews in the past because this place was awful. I am honestly not sure where the 3+ stars came from. read more

What a wonderful find in Blacksburg VA. We did the Full Monty ...B&B, wine tasting, cheese plate, and walk about. B&B very clean and inviting, the breakfast was delicious and Joyce and Yvan are great hosts. Wine tasting complete with 8 varieties, I'm not a big VA wine fan but you could definitely find a bottle you liked. This was my second time going to this vineyard and this was one of my worst experiences at any vineyard I have been to. I have a service dog and although there were no issues on my first visit a month prior, on this visit a worker was adamant that my service dog was not allowed inside even though legally she is. After arguing for several minutes about whether the dog is allowed inside the worked said "fine but keep her on her leash". I was not offered any apology by any worker at the vineyard and it ruined the entire vibe for myself and my group at the vineyard. Lovely small winery, but the buffet they had for VA Tech Graduation was a disappointment. On arrival, there was a line outside in the rain with no sign indicating what the line was for. We followed some people upstairs and found out it was a private party. We went back downstairs, outside, and we were told we could wait inside. We waited for my husband inside, he came in and was told he had to go outside to pay - even though I had made a reservation with my credit card earlier. They were not ready for us to be seated and we had to stand there, with a dozen others, watching about 2 people cleaning the tables. The dinner started late, there were no servers and the food choices were very limited. For a glass of wine, we had to get up and walk into the bar next door and ask for one. There were two women working there. One said she was on her second day there and was very friendly. The other blonde woman was curt.
