Stopped here on the way to Tennessee to have lunch and for a great view. Great parking availability and walked right up to the vineyard tasting location. Was immediately greeted by a nice lady who provided us with a warm place to eat inside and several chairs to accommodate us. We got the wine tasting of four different wines and a diy charcuterie with local meats and cheese. The bathroom was a little walk away and was very clean. Tons of spots to sit and enjoy the view. Would definitely return.

Dog friendly! I think Journey was jealous of my delicious wine.

Amazing first experience at VA Mountain Vineyards. From being very dog friendly to suggesting wines for a generous flight to having a variety of seating options all with beautiful views of the mountains. Everything was top notch! I'll definitely be back!! Thank you for a wonderful experience late on a Sunday!

Beautiful place. Great wine. Lots of pretty places to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. $10 for wine tasting of 6 types. Lisette is very sweet and great at explaining each wine and about the estate vineyard. Nice place for a small wedding. Pretty Drive. Definitely worth a stop in. Will be back.

Wine flight + an extra box of chocolate so my significant other and I could each have our own!

We had a lovely time at Virginia Mountain Vineyards today. We stopped by on our way to the Sunflower Festival and the view of the mountains/Peaks of Otter was breathtaking. They had several tables at acceptable social distances from one another facing the mountains, as well as a couple of tables and chairs between the house and the event tent/restrooms. On top of the beautiful views and comfortable seating, the wine was some of the best we have tried in Virginia so far. I loved the chocolate and wine pairing flight and my favorites of the day were the Traminette, Holiday Spice, Virginia Red, and Virginia White. If you are looking for a nice day trip, look no further!

I loved their presentation of their tastings and bottle service.

We really enjoyed our time! They wine was decently priced for the quality and the views are what you're really looking forward to. The staff was AMAZING and really made sure we were happy. We brought our dog and they asked if he needed anything. We also enjoyed their cheese selection. The only suggestion I would make would be to put fans on the patio or in the tent so that when that nice, mountain breeze isn't flowing that there is some kind of air flow on the hot afternoon.

New owners as of October 2018! Definitely worth the drive from Roanoke. The wines are very good, white and red alike. The view is great and there is plenty of outdoor seating. Tasting of 6 wines is only $10. Will be back!

We just came back from a wonderful visit at VMV. I can tell you if you're looking for a fantastic way to spend a lovely afternoon, consider doing just that here. Delightful wines, a relaxed vibe, welcoming staff and owners just compliment the star player - The View. Don't miss it!

Chardonnay with amazing views! Highly recommend Patrick!!

This vineyard was AMAZING! Patrick was exceptionally kind & helpful. The views are amazing & the Chardonnay Reserve is my favorite! Luckily we came on a Sunday which was quiet & peaceful. Will definitely be back often! Love this place! The Holiday Spice is also amazing... any time of year! Definitely recommend!!

This winery is part of the Botetourt County Wine Trail--three wineries high in the Blue Ridge Mountains (the others are Fincastle and Blue Ridge), north of Roanoke. These wineries are off I-81, but don't rely on a GPS to find them. USE A MAP. But Virginia wine lovers will be rewarded with fine wine at good prices. Virginia Mountain Vineyards, like others in this region of Virginia, has ample land to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. This winery makes an excellent Rose (roses are making a comeback in VA), Traminette, and something called "Holiday Spice," which you can warm up in a crockpot and serve as mulled. It's delicious.

Unfortunately, they are not Dog friendly and the can't accommodate outside tastings. This had to be removed from our visit list.

They have a short but absolutely wonderful menu where every choice is a winner. It is an amazing spot to enjoy quality time relaxing or sharing a glass with special people. Highly recommend! After having been selected as number 4 of Yelp's Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I was also awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at their Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Stave & Cork in Downtown Salem, Virginia is a perfect example. As soon as I arrived, an elegant yet friendly lady greeted and welcomed me, explaining this unique establishment and what it had to offer. I explained how today I came to learn about the place and have dinner with a non-alcoholic drink since I was driving. She served me a glass of water and explained the different items on the menu. The menu included artisanal cheeses, charcuterie boards, house-made dips, and made-to-order paninis, as well as a Cheesecake Flight sweet. I ordered the Peaks of Otter Panini which contained Pulled Pork, Swiss Cheese, Pickles, and Mustard. And was served with kettle fried potato chips. While I waited for my order to be served on one of their beautiful polished walnut tables, I observed how some guests had a Wine Flight paired with a Charcuterie Board. And how their knowledgeable staff and owner guided the guests through unique varietals. When my food was ready it was brought to my table. The Peaks of Otter Panini was amazing. It had fresh, juicy pieces of pork, that together with the Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard tasted more like a gourmet Cuban Sandwich. And the chips were also fresh and crispy. Before leaving I walked around and noticed they had a back dining room as well as an outside dining area. Their wine selection focused on small, boutique wineries, offering a diverse range of local, domestic, and international wines. They also had some shelves full of local artists woodwork items for sale. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and its high-quality food, wines, and products from local artists. On my way out I met with a local couple of friends and remained talking with them for almost an hour. Again, I highly recommend this place and am looking forward to returning with some friends.

We couldn't decide at first between a flight or a glass of wine so we were offered a splash of the chardonnay to help us decide. We both went with a glass and got a generous pour for $12. The wines rotate regularly and they offered vintages from different parts of the world. I loved the exposed brick walls and comfortable seating. We will have to try the food next time!
