She did my makeup for my son's wedding, and from the moment I walked in, she greeted me warmly and made me feel truly valued as a customer. Marilyn was attentive, patient, and went above and beyond to answer all of my questions. I really appreciated how knowledgeable and professional she was, while still being so friendly and approachable. This is a decently sized Belk with many different items of clothing as well as furniture and other items. I have gotten some very nice dresses from here, as well as presents for other people. Around Christmas, they have many stunning ornaments! The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's not overpriced for sure, they usually have some good sale going on. I've seen Tommy Hilfiger items on sale from 90.00 to 50.00. Everything is pretty easy to find. They also sell some really nice jewelry, as well as a variety of perfumes and scents. I've also found some great lotion there in the past. I will also add that everything was very well displayed and in the right place. You may also find some treats or snack like things such as cheese and cookie straws. The bathrooms need some work as well as the dressing rooms. read more

Whoever is buying for Belk's women's departments needs help, especially in the plus size department. Wonderly is cute - the rest is pretty sad. I wish there was a negative rating because that's what Belk deserves! pitiful customer service. cheap clothing. poor quality. can never find a salesperson to help. ridiculous store policies. No one willing to help in anyway! Never a manager available to speak to. We had a package delivered to the wrong address. By the time we were able to locate the package days had passed. We tried to return the item. Belk refused. We explaiNed the situation. They refused to make an exception even though the order had been delivered to the wrong address. Service has completely deteriorated. This Belk, just a few years ago, was spotless, clean and had great service and great clothes. Now it's a big empty warehouse. Clothes piled up on the floor. Absolutely no one works upstairs. We tried to find a suit for my son. It was chaos. We finally found a employee downstairs who shrugged her shoulders and said "yeah not my department." I love this Belt Department Store. I even love it more than any of the Belk stores at home in Jacksonville. It's the main focal point and the only Department Store at Dogwood Festival. It's nice and large and has two floors. The store is very well organized and maintained. Everything is kept nice and neat and nothing is scattered about. The employees do a great job here. They have a very large section and nice selection for the plus-sized woman which I greatly appreciate. Other Belk locations I've been in don't have as large of a section and there isn't as much to choose from. One of my favourite purchases from this store was a lovely off-white winter coat which I got on sale for $60 and it was regularly priced at a little over $200. I live in Florida, so I only get to wear it a couple of times a year (if I'm lucky), but when I visit MS during the winter, I get to wear it all the time. It's absolutely beautiful and was a total steal! I ended up purchasing the coat because I was visiting MS during the winter and my usual light hoodie that I wear in Florida just wasn't cutting it. I had to have something heavier. But I digress.... The employees here in every single department are extremely helpful and polite. They've got the whole Southern hospitality thing going on here. Other Belk stores could take some pointers from this one, for sure! It seems they constantly have some sort of sale going on. My mother lives near here and she tells me often about different items she has picked up here on sale and they have been steals as well. The service is hit and miss but the selection is great! They have a little bit of everything. I recommend downloading the app because if the price is lower they owned that price and many times it's lower, sometimes much lower. The app also has coupons. read more

Well, this store has gone from a 2 star to a 1 star in my opinion. No one at any customer service counter, hardly any registers open. Had to search the store for an employee to ask a question. Clothes scattered everywhere, not marked. It was all a self serve warehouse feel. Don't know if I'll get back to Belk unless things change drastically. read more

Customer service is very bad. Was there last night and walked from one station to the next upstairs so I could pay for my items. One employee very deliberately closed her register as she saw me approach. If this is due to Covid, I understand, but it should have nothing to do with being polite to customers. Thankfully, an employee downstairs was very helpful. Also, the shoe department is understaffed. Had to wait in line for over 10 minutes while one employee attempted to resolve a coupon issue. Also, I wanted to purchase an item from the Clinique counter, but nobody there. People were waiting to be acknowledged and I left. This is not ok. read more

It is the weekend of Easter and they only have two areas with dressing rooms that are open. 3 of the 6 bathroom stalls are out of order with 2 of the working ones having no toilet paper. This store has really gone down. I don't know if it's management or corporate but they are in desperate need of an overhaul. Employees seem to be absolutley worn down and no where near enough sales associates to help anyone. read more

This is my second time at Belk. It's like your typical department store BUT, this one is a 'Southern Staple' (LOL). They have alot of sales, clearance racks etc. They have a limited amount of shopping carts for the customers who are shopping. (weird) The Customer service is good, I was greeted promptly. Dear Belk! I am so tired of your buy one get one sales! One rack of girls' dresses, two different brands but all fall colors. I get to checkout and discover one of the dresses from this rack is priced at 50% off so the other dress I got wouldn't work since it was a buy one get one free!!!! How stupid is this???? Both items were essentially on sale for half price but you put in all these sneaky items which resulted in an additional 30 minutes trying to find another dress at buy one get one. I can say there was not a sign anywhere that indicated a rack was just 50% off!!! Shame on you Belk for becoming a big pain to shop with you! And those rows and rows of sale items all over the store reminds me of KMart and not what's advertised as an upscale dept store! read more

I am so sick of Belk and their display of men's Suits and dress pants. When you see a hanger with one size the garment is not that size. Belk needs to get this correct and stop just placing merchandise in the racks at no particular order. Family and friends, I try to be as accommodating as possible when dealing with receiving excellent customer service, and more so spending money altogether. So with that being said, I "supposedly" received a Gucci gift set as a gift right, from Belk​. So when I got the gift and looked at it's packaging, I was like humm this packaging looks very odd! Mind you, I have several of the Gucci fragrances so I know exactly what they should look like. So I go to the store today and inquire about it and was told that "set" I received is what they use to "make" gift sets once they run out. So you're trying to tell me in my face that you use this cheap cheesy looking plastic thing to make gift sets?!!! Then I asked one of the ladies when will they receive more of the sets and she said around Valentine's Day. I said oh okay, well how long do I have to exchange/return this and she stated its no time on it as long as I had the receipt... So I'm like cool... I'll just hold on to it until then. But as I was getting ready to walk off, she then says well as long as you don't use it!!! I'm like ma'am say what now?!! I have MORE THAN MY FAIR SHARE of perfume. Enough to wear each day of the week and still my repeat the same fragrance twice. So not only are you selling BS made up gift sets, you're trying to insult me in the process! Who sells things like this for damn near $130?!!!!!!! When I purchase, I purchase for not only the brand, but the damn presentation as well... And NOTHING about this says "real" Gucci to me. It's like me ordering a Gucci bag from the company and it's delivered in a shoebox without the dust bag, paper certifications, and serial number. I tried to hold it together and decided to go ahead and leave. I make it home and call back to speak with a manager and got transferred to for a whole 10 minutes (NO LIE, check out the call log) without anyone having the common sense to come back to he line and try to track the manager down! I disconnected the call and called back to reach the MOD (Brandon) he was a pleasant gentleman and all, but he still didn't offer any resolution. No lore than to tell me that this are gift sets that they make once they sell out of the originals and they do this as a convenience to the consumer, and that I could call one of their stores in TN to place a phone order for the perfume and let them ship it to me, or that I could call their distribution warehouse and see if they have any left. So not only am I stuck with this crap, now I have to do the work to correct the issue myself as well... Way to go Team Belk Dogwood for the excellent customer service (in my most sarcastic voice ever!) Maybe someone that doesn't know any better would take this and be happy that they have Gucci in their selection, but me; it's either all or nothing. I will be forwarding this complaint to Belk's Corporate office, along with returning the items, along with forwarding this to Gucci. They are single-handedly down-playing their brand. If I want perfume in a plastic container, I would shop at Perfumania or somewhere like that. Ms. Mary, I'm sorry honey, but you can go ahead and subtract that $130 right back out of your commissions ma'am! And whomever is the Gucci rep at Belk's in Dogwood needs to be reprimanded IMMEDIATELY for evening thinking that those clear containers were suitable for sale! There was so much more that could have been done to "halfway" dress the box.. No cute bow! No tissue paper, NOTHING!!! In a time when department stores are fading fast Belk seems to be holding on to their location offering Souther shoppers a style that is catered to them. I am not an avid Belk shopper but it is my first thought and choice when I am Christmas shopping for my family members. It is also the main source for me when I am looking for perfume for myself or gifts for others. Additionally when I am in a desperate last minute search of a new dress for a special occasion Belk is the first stop. And when I am looking for a new purse, again Belk pops up... Come to think about it Belk is a very needed place for the city. I stop by here more than I realize it. I think it would be one of those places you don't realize how much you rely on it until it is gone. I do hope this won't be the case. It is a retail department store, but it is one of the more decent places that remains a staple in the area.- so yes, I am a fan. read more

Terrible experience. Have been here for nearly an hour & had to put some of the things I wanted back, because I can't find anyone at a register downstairs. The store is a complete mess & it's very difficult to find sizes (size indicated on the hangers was wrong on most items). Finally found Dorothy in the men's dept. She rang up my purchases, but never spoke to me. 3 Belk employees behind me complaining that their lunch breaks could not come soon enough. I was here 10:35-11:25. I won't be back. I'll make the drive to Northpark Mall if I'm ever desperate enough to shop at Belk. read more
