BELL FLATIRONS KNOWINGLY, IGNORANTLY, PURPOSELY, and UNAPOLOGETICALLY KILLS WILDLIFE! Yesterday I went to resident services expressing my concern for the dead bunnies and squirrels that I have found that all have blood coming out of their noses and mouths. The pest control they use is a poison that makes the "pest" internally bleed until they die. There is no remedy for the poison and the poison does not know the difference between a rat and a bunny. Once a bunny gets it and then a hawk gets the bunny...they all die. Domino effect... if your cat gets a poisoned mouse that got in your house, then your cat dies. There are also people with outdoor cats. It's an absolute environmental hazard. My puppy dog who is 11 years old is the one who found a chewed up "bait box" exposing the poison within that was dragged out into our grassy courtyard. Our domestic animals are also in danger. There was a dead poisoned squirrel right next to the lake and where a bald eagle has been spotted fishing. There is a poisonous green algae in the lake, yet they still rent out paddle boards that uninformed residents happily rent and frolic about in contaminated water. After visiting resident services expressing concern just yesterday...management sent pest control over to my exact building number with orders to "get rid of the nuisance squirrels" people were complaining were in their attics. I have talked to everyone who lives in this building. Nobody called and there is no reason a squirrel would burrow into an attic in the summertime. Pest control said they bait from the ground, meaning all ground critters are at risk, which then puts our birds of prey at risk,There are hundreds of little holes at the bases of the foundations of these buildings where they put the bait boxes. Your pets are at risk. I scared the pest control guy away today.No telling if and when he will be back. I am keeping my eye on a few bunnies I believe to be orphaned. ( I just added a photo of one that I just found dead and then an aggressive on leash dog treated it like a squeaky toy). I held them only for a very short period of time for a quick health check. I will not take away their right to be wild. I will not feed them or handle them again as I know that is not good for them. . MANAGEMENT sent a guy today who was instructed to "get rid "of my squirrel buddies. I was informed I was not even allowed to have a bird feeder and that it is "in the lease" but I have not found that within the 62 page lease. If they post a response below saying they didn't know or they intend to improve, blah blah blah, that's a lie. They lie constantly to their residents. I was lied to right in my face today and told they use live traps. I just talked to pest control and shown the bait box and poison. Had I not experienced this issue I still would tell anyone one considering Bell flatirons to RUN.. Closed amenities including pools, hot tub, tennis courts, grills, basketball/racquet ball courts closed( when I moved in) elevator for disabled/elderly people inoperable for years (!), community grounds not handicapped accessible (very few ramps on sidewalks), Slow maintenance requests (they are understaffed), Pre-eviction letters of possession on the 4th of every month, dirty groundskeeping (trash and overflowing poop stations), apartment upkeep, horribly dirty windows, screens, blinds, old water heaters that flood (one was installed in 1993 that just flooded), plumbing issues, garbage disposal issues, dishwashers over-flowing, residents pay for the dumpsters on site as well as personal trash, pest control charge that kills wildlife, unempathetic, dishonest and immoral resident services management, corporate environment, many promises that will not be kept on THEIR part. However you are expected to maintain your end of the agreement rigidly. It's horribly managed, and maintenance is understaffed. If you live here and are disturbed by my squirrel/bunny story call the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of cruelty to animals), local news like Denver 7, local city government, Boulder County government, post on FB page, tell your neighbors and spread the word, refuse to pay pest control fee, and post a Yelp or Google review. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE. Just took 12 days to have our AC unit replaced in the middle of summer when it's 95+ degrees outside everyday. It's been 80+ degrees in our apartment for the last 2 weeks. To finally get this fixed it took 48 hours to get someone to come out and diagnose the issue, a week for the new unit to come in, and then they held onto the new unit for 3 days before installing it. We've gone to the resident services & the leasing office 10+ times over the last two weeks with little or no help, and when they do help there's no communication at all so you're still left in the dark. After a 2 week nightmare we finally got this replaced. Sadly we had just renewed prior to this happening & now are stuck paying $2,500 to get out of this renewal. We never would have renewed if we knew it would be this much of a disaster. To cap things off, 48 hours ago, I was told that they were getting the property's general manager involved and so far I haven't been contacted by them or have seen any effort in helping fix our problem. The apartments are 40 years old with 20+ year old AC units & furnaces, and they do not have the staff needed to care for a community this large. If you sign a lease here, expect to always be on your own, to never to receive help from management, and to just call emergency maintenance because that's the only way to get on their radar. Would not recommend this place to anyone. This is by far the worst experience I've had in the 9 rental communities I've lived in. read more

We'd like to give a big thank you to the maintenance team! Dustin and Cody did an amazing job addressing the maintenance requests we submitted. They were incredibly thorough and made sure everything was fixed correctly. We truly appreciate their professionalism and attention to detail. Roberto also did an excellent job patching up a hole in the back of our fridge. He was very professional and kind--even taking a moment to say hello to our dog when he came up to greet him. We also want to recognize Joshua for always being so kind and attentive to the property. He consistently does his job with a smile and never hesitates to help. When my mother and I told him about a loose step near our apartment, he fixed it right away. He also kindly removed some old trash cans that our neighbors left behind when they moved out. Be warned! Unsafe living conditions are of NO concern to management. I did a walk-thru right before committing to a lease and was appalled: gas leaking from oven, grossly insufficient hot water, front door bolt not secure, evidence of a water leak. The touch-up painting and patching was the lowest quality I've ever seen: they painted right over painters' tape, protruding nails were either ignored or painted right over, patched walls not smoothed (see photos). The worst part is that management has absolutely NO INTENTION of maintaining their 20+ year old apartments. They have just 2 maintenance men for 1200 apartments! They are only concerned about getting their hands on your money. Then they will ignore you. They can never be reached 'live'. Deceptive sales tactics. Run fast and far! I did! read more

NO #$%&@! WAY! RUN! Tried to move here, I mean I seriously did everything in my power to move here as I wanted nothing more than to live here due to location. Fortunately I found a few other alternatives very nearby but holy crap, the leasing office (Austin specifically) could not have done more to dissuade me from moving in! Could NOT see most of the units; half of the units we went to see he didn't have the key to (the Property Manager supposedly had them who wasn't in that day!); there was a lot of noticeable structural damage to stairs, hand railings, etc. to some of the units looked at; garbage in front of doors, kids toys and bikes everywhere -- just horrible presentations and an absolute waste of time dealing with the leasing office. Afterwards, I couldn't get any additional information I required in any form whatsoever -- M.I.A. communication! The leasing manager was as unassisting as the leasing agent when I reached out later! SOOOO happy I DIDN'T wind up here as I was surely concerned based on the reviews here! Heed my advice, you ARE going to be disappointed! read more

The entire complex is badly managed, if you chose to stay there just pray that you don't have something break in your apartment. Their maintenance is shocking, it took them so long to come and fix my garbage disposal that I eventually had to get it fixed myself. When I moved out they gave me the final amount owed (and I like a breakdown of what I am paying for) which I eventually got after asking. In the interim I had lost access to the portal and I was not able to pay my final bill. I tried calling in, to the management office and always went to voicemail, I learnt from experience, that leaving a message was a complete waster of time. I decided I would therefore have to go into the office to sort this out, only to find out that they had already handed my account over to debt collectors. Bell Flatirons is extremely expensive for the service you receive. There are much cheaper apartment complexes with better services in the surrounding Broomfield area. read more

Just moved in here. As people said, the model you tour looks nothing like the apartment you'll get. They didn't let me know that I wasn't getting a carpet and that my floor plan was going to be different from the apartment I toured. I'm just sharing the picture of my apartment and let it speak for itself. They said they'll get maintenance over too. Update: Changing my review from 2 stars to 1 star. The management acknowledged that they made a mistake not letting me know the floor plan is different and offered to move me to another apartment. However, with all the stuff I already have and the hassle of moving, I've decided to stay in my apartment. Other than that, I have a BIG ISSUE WITH SMELL. I've been working with them about this, but the general manager, Mary Loes, has just ignored my email since June 21st. I've just been working on getting rid of the smell on my own and it's slowly working. My maintenance requests online have also been ignored. It's very unfortunate they're very unprofessional and mismanaged. They don't text/email when they enter your unit, work on your maintenance request, or when they fulfill your request. The previous apartment (ran by college students) I lived in had the decency to actually email and text me when they enter my apartment and send updates on the status. Well it's a somewhat decent apartment complex. A nice view. The only issue is that things are falling apart and it takes weeks for any maintenance to be done. And when they do come they don't do a full inspection and fix issues that need to be done. The only way it'll get fixed if you constantly have to request a maintenance repair and constantly call. Yes I understand that it's a huge apartment complex but it shouldn't take weeks or months to get something fixed! And in addition the garbage area! It's disgusting and looks like a land fill! all the time! and this doesn't happen every once in a while either, this is an occurring problem every day, week! The dryer in our unit has a broken vent hose, probably existing since move in. Once we noticed the damage due to the excess moisture and lint forming outside , we notified management immediately. We also stopped using the dryer, due to risk of fire, mold, and carbon monoxide when using a dryer that doesn't vent outside. Management effectively told us to wait until maintenance was available. Past experience shows that "waiting until maintenance is available" could be months on end, and multiple trips to residential services. We cannot use the dryer that we PAY for in our monthly rent until Bell fixes it. We also cannot dry our clothes on the balcony, as the lease makes hanging items over the railing a $75.00 fine. Given how greedy this company is, they'd probably fine within a day, while still not fixing the dryer itself. Management has also ignored our reasonable request for a deduction to the rent while the dryer goes unrepaired, and we waste time and money at a laundromat when we're paying them for a working dryer. Other things to note are that the unit was filthy upon move in. There was a dead bird in our bathroom vent, and management ignored the request for immediate attention until we stated an intention to go to the health department if the issue remained unaddressed. Potholes are growing and have been growing for more than a year, other than the two days that a temporary patch work was applied, which tore out within a week. The property has potential, if management and paper pushers weren't trying to bleed the property for every penny. The concierge, maintenance workers, and other staff are super nice once they're available, but unfortunately they're overextended and underpaid. read more

For several months we have felt the environment we live is not a secure one due to: Hundreds of cigarette butts, many of them still lit up, that are in our patio and around the premises. Many times, this cigarette butts even get into the apartment or between the cracks of the roof above the patio. Due to the dry weather these could cause a fire on the premises as it has happened in other areas in Boulder. We have informed management via email as well as in person several times and nothing has been done about this issue. We have also witnessed how the police has come to our building and no notice was given to the residents about the incident to take precautions. The trash removal has failed on many occasions even when we have placed the trash according to the rules and it has not been picked. I even had to go and get myself one of the people from the valet company to come and pick it up. I have informed management several times about this incident, and it continues to happen. However, in return we get letters stating that the trash cannot be left outside after hours when their own people are the ones who failed to pick it up. We pay for this service that is not done according to what is expected. I decided to move out giving a 40+ day notice because of all of the issues and fire danger and all we got was that we still have to pay $3,600 for not informing management with 60 day notice. They do not even want to work with us about this issue and all we got was an email stating: "I talked to our General Manager and we are not releasing you from the written 60 day notice". I wouldn't even give this complex a 1 star review. They have tacked on horrendous and egregious fees in the past year. This is especially difficult given the pandemic. I will only mention one fee here, the trash fee. We pay $30 a month for trash pickup and then this past year they tacked on an additional fee of $25 for leaving your trash out overnight if not following their specific time instructions. I took my trash to the trash place this morning like a good neighbor(no pickup today) only to find the following disgusting mess. They stated that the additional fees were due to trash floating around the community and they would be fining anybody who didn't follow their rules. They can't even follow their own rules. This is appalling and I honestly can't wait to get into a house an move away from this complex. Absolutely terrible maintenance service. We don't call maintenance very often, but when we do it is for major issues we can't fix ourselves. The sink is leaking horribly, has been for two days, I have called twice and submitted two requests online, to no avail. The leaking is ruining the property. This isn't the first time we have had issues with maintenance. Each time we put in a request, we have to call and put the request in several times, which shows up as "completed" and very inaccurately on the resident Portal. Basically they don't care about their residents and can't be bothered to take care of anything and they don't care about their property or the mold that is growing under the sink, damaging their resident's health. read more

Lived there for 2.5 years. Nice to have my own entry and garage into my apartment but the management is poorly managed and they do not stick to their own lease agreement. The trash is never picked up when it should be, leaving trash all over the place for squirrels and raccoons to get into. They allow dangerous dog breeds (that are restricted according to the lease) who are clearly NOT trained emotional support dogs, I almost got attacked multiple times by aggressive pit bulls and german shepherds. They allow smoking even though it's also prohibited in the lease, cigarettes everywhere and you better hope your neighbor isn't a pot head if you don't like the smell! Their maintenance is not timely at all, even if you have no use of your sink! They often leave things worse than they found it. Then they get you on the move out. I have lived in apartments / rentals for almost 2 decades and have never been charged at move out, in fact, I have always gotten my deposit back. They provide extremely poor construction and blinds and then charge you for every little thing. I was charged almost $1000 for "damages" including broken blinds that would break every time I tried to open or close them. I even submitted maintenance requests on it and never got a response. I got charged for stains on the pad below the carpet when they pulled the carpet up for routine replacement and my move out photos don't even show stains on the carpet. After this experience, having my own garage entry was not worth it, keep looking and don't live here. read more

Mary Loes in particular is the cause of the decline of this property. Her usual strategy of dealing with resident issues is to pretend the phone doesn't work and hang up on you mid-sentence. They did not clean the apartment or do any inspections prior to move in. I was presented with a clean, shiny model unit and told that mine would look "just like that". Well... I had a hold in the door, a broken exterior lock, years of mildew and filth on the shower tiles, water damaged ceiling, a countertop that was patched with cardboard, and more! When I asked them to fix the issue, they refused and said I could move out instead if I wanted to. If you think paying $2000/month for a filthy, moldy one-bedroom can be redeemed by occasional access to a pool or a basketball court, then you might just be dumb enough to live here. This place is terrible to live at. The customer service here is garbage and they take for ever to help if you have any issues with your apartment. They also don't send proper technicians to correct the problems. This apartment complex will also nickel and dime you any chance they get. You'd be better off living out of your car than wasting your money renting from this place. Oh and if you're an existing renter here, they don't care and won't work with you on negotiating your rent. Our neighbors apartment flooded and it took them 2 weeks to even respond. When they did finally respond, they dropped off sandbags that he had to go set up to prevent the rest of his apartment from being consumed by water. A cardboard box is a better option. read more

DO NOT RENT AN APARTMENT HERE BY ANY MEANS!! They are expensive, have terrible maintenance support, take money for services not provided, and are racist and bullies. Here are 3 examples: A) I once filed a maintenance request for replacing blinds which is a relatively trivial issue, waited 3 months for the request to be completed, made 7 trips to the resident service center, and finally got it fixed only after threatening their manager that I wouldn't renew my lease. B) They collect a mandatory "valet trash" fee of $30 per month, but I have never had my trash collected, even if I kept the bin out for a week. I have always had to throw out my trash myself, despite the mandatory valet trash fee. C) When I moved out, I was charged $50 in "damages" because my "entire apartment smelled of FOREIGN FOOD". They did not give any proof of these "damages", or provide a receipt for the repairs done to eliminate the smell. I believe they charge this to all non-American residents who move out, because residents do not fight back. When I tried to contest the charges, they said I should contest the charges with their henchmen at Hunter Warfield. Did I mention already that they are racist?? I'm going to update my review. Katie Flood allowed us to break our lease because of all of the problems specific to our experience. We did have to pay rent 2 months from our notice to vacate, but the $3600 lease break fee was waved. Bottom line- this community could be really lovely if they fixed some things. Quick update - I moved out of this place QUICK! Did not even consider resigning a lease. The year we lived there the pool was broke 90 % of the time. The workers are rude and only care about taking your money! We moved out 2 months ago. And we received our final notice not even 3 weeks ago. I called them to pay it last week and I was told we were sent to collections?!?!? After 2 weeks??? This was by far the worse place I lived. Have lived here for about two months now and I have mixed feelings. When I first got into my apartment I was a bit thrown off by a strong smell, but I figured it would go away within a few days. After two months of keeping windows open, lighting candles, having essential oils diffusing constantly, putting baking soda on the carpet, requesting an air filter change, ETC. ..it still smells. I am not sure if it is the old carpet or what, but it is frustrating having my apartment smell like someone else's. I also was expecting to have marble countertops, I was not made aware that not all units do- not a big deal just was disappointed. The bathroom in my unit is very small and the bathtub/shower has stains everywhere. Most of the vents in my unit are brown and crusty as well. When I first got here the toilet broke and I put in a maintenance request and I wasn't helped (and by helped I mean left a voicemail) til a month later. At that point I had already had someone else come fix it. The shades in my bedroom are so frustrating and panels kept falling off- I ended up taking the entire thing off the wall. Bell advertises their homes to be new and upscale, and mine just doesn't feel that way at all. I'm sure there are other units that are nicer but I'm paying over $1,900 for a one bedroom, and it doesn't feel justified for what I'm getting. Not to mention, the prices on one bedrooms went down in just the two months I've been here. I do love the high ceilings and big window in the living room. The gym is mediocre- pretty dark atmosphere and the lifting area isn't big enough for how big of a complex it is. The views are nice...but only from the leasing office and select units. Otherwise there are no views besides the other buildings. Overall (in my apartment at least) everything feels old and kinda gross- even in just little details like you can see in the pictures. NOT A RENTER... But perspective Renter. Contacted them to get information about the apartments. voiced some concerns I have seen on reviews. Such as the Pool Runaround...... Lies....... Parking....... and such. I was told by the first person who contacted me that the pool was up and running. A second person also contacted me and informed me that the pool was not running. So the first person lied to me to try and get me to commit. When addressed they gave me the runaround i am sure renters deal with constantly. she was misinformed and its a common mistake and should be working soon. They can not give you any details about the actual status of the pool. I also asked how when they charge 20 dollars a month that they can not afford to fix this pool issue in a timely manner. even if they only have 60% of their 1200 units filled. thats 720 units x 20 dollars which is 14,400 dollars a month or more. this is more than enough to build a new pool. much less simply fix the heated on a pool they promise tenants. I was then told good luck with my search. they clearly dont care. not even enough to be reasonable and explain the issues i addressed. This place is a dumpster. Horrible smells, horrible service, we stayed here for a 1 yr term and glad we left right before the pandemic hit. This would have been a nightmare. We had our washer dryer malfunction as well as AC. Everyone is on your business as walls are almost see through to say the least. Dog poop everywhere (owners / facilities) as both have some guilt. The garage as a mile away from the apartments and good luck with a functional garage door. Garbage is IMPERATIVE and it accumulates quick! Guess what the rotten and night animals come out, and trash / recycling everywhere. Please avoid this place at all coats. Love charging but horrible at working with customers. Btw, weed smell in every apartment. Not that I dislike it but what optics and smells is it presenting! Nice try, changing names AGAIN. read more

Management has decided to link MAINTENANCE reviews to this review instead of being honest. They've done this in several places (yelp, etc). A review for work someone did is NOT a review of the complex. After receiving work, a follow up email is sent, and THAT review is what's put up. Bell Flatirons is manipulative through and through. This place in the few months I've lived here has had: a carjacking chase end here and had about a hundred cop cars fill our complex (armed cops yelling to stay in our homes), we've had NONSTOP new rules and fees- including a package fee ($3/day), trash fee($25 on top of the $20 we already pay), parking fee ($10 for any guest)- all of which were not part of our lease agreement. Three new fees in a couple months is management trying to play dirty to create behavioral changes- which seeds dissent. To management: if you wish encourage residents to respect the space, you also need to respect the space. You cannot expect people to stay if you treat them terribly. We will be moving due to these clear mishandlings. We will not support management acting in this manner- especially during a pandemic. This is NOT the time to push extra fees on people- it is a moral failing, especially when the other side doesn't hold up their end. Dog waste bins are regularly overflowing, causing a health concern. I've brought this up several times to be met with no change. Why should I care about my trash if you don't care about yours? Trash collectors intentionally "miss" homes. There's now a $25 fee if you don't have your trash out between 5-8pm in a special container that's obviously too small to fit a regular trash bag. Better hope you put it in the right place, otherwise that's going to be a fee. There's a fee if you have someone over and they're in your driveway without paying a permit to stay overnight. They're tracking overnight guests, which is an invasion of privacy. ParkM was not an improvement, but blatant punishment. There's a clear lack of parking space- imposing fees doesn't change the fact we need more spaces. The complex is regularly broken into- we just got an email that mail in two places was broken into last night, and we were told to not leave valuables in our car even IN OUR DRIVEWAY. Previous owners had a good relationship with police and they regularly patrolled, now they could care less. Neighbors who have been here 5 years are leaving because of the horrible failings of Bell Flatirons management. There are serious safety hazards, including sloping apartments due to the foundation shifting. A neighbor on the other end unit had flooding from their irrigation system so bad it got to her porch and started ruining the foundation. The pool has been out of use for about a month because they neglected to maintain things properly. The gym is never cleaned- I've been able to wipe layers of dust and find the same dead flies in the gym even after covid started. DEEP CLEAN YOUR GYM. They try to increase rent more than 4% for everyone we've talked to that's renewed. As a reminder, it's illegal to raise more than 4%- and that's punishable by law. Prices are different for each resident, and don't align with what neighbors are paying. We all talk, we know what you're doing. An end unit should not cost less than an inner unit that's the same layout, it's time to be honest and transparent. They intentionally mislead tennants on their rights. I have another neighbor who has a toilet that's not even level on the ground (its tilting to the side no less than 15 degrees) and they refuse to do anything- because it's such a systemic failure it will uncover how desperately these units need to be completely re-done. Management has a power complex that they wield to the resident's disadvantage. The regular employees are not bad- but upper management needs to be replaced ASAP. Overall, all of these issues stem from an incompetent person who has been put in a role that's too large for their ability. They were supposed to get a part for our fridge MONTHS ago and have yet to repair it, the microwave was replaced with a new crappier one that literally broke within a week of getting it. The sprinklers spray directly on the walkway, the pool always has loud obnoxious THUGS and nobody does a thing about THAT! I have Almost gotten run over multiple times by psychotic drivers that don't adhere to the 15 mile an hour speed limit. Unfreaking-believable!!!! I DESPISE BELL FLATIRONS and we WILL NOT be renewing our lease! Plus they owe me now 300.00 to get my car out of impounding because THEY don't have any parking available for THEIR residents! This should have been about minus 5 stars, really. If you are seriously considering to move in here, then grab some popcorn and listen up to our "lovely" experience here. After several attempts to communicate our frustration and disappointment about or decision to live here and never hearing back from the management and waiting forever for repairs, I have had enough. Here is what is it like to live in Bell Flatirons for your first 5 months. 1. We moved in and the washing machine was broken. We reported the issues which took them 4 weeks to fix, they did not bother to offer a different washing machine or another solution. 4 weeks without washing machine after you have just moved in is not too pleasant. 2. By the time the repairmen came in to fix our washing machine (a month after we would move in!), we already had several other issues - the main ones: I literally got hit (it fell on me) by the whole plastic part that holds the blinds, I think it's called beam? Anyway, while there were no injuries, it definitely scared me and also hurt. It definitely is not something you expect to happen in a seemingly "modern-looking" apartment. The third main issue was our broken garage door. 3. The third main issue was our broken garage door. When your garage door randomly opens at midnight or when you are away for the weekend and you have some valuables stored in there, you are not going to be happy to return and see that it has been opened (for who knows how long). You report the issue and then.... it only takes them about 6 weeks to fix! Yay! Of course, after you call them multiple times to remind them of the issue. The cherry on the top of the pie? They won't bother to inform you that it was finally fixed. There is no communication from their end whatsoever. By the way, on the topic of the garage - we also sometimes have issues with the button for opening the garage door not working properly, leading into us having to wait some extra time before it starts working or my boyfriend having to tinker around. 4. We also had the cover of the fan / AC in one of the bathrooms randomly fall out while brushing our teeth, so another call to the maintenance. To give them credit, this one only took about 3 weeks to be fixed. 5. Further, about four months of us living here, our dishwasher broke as well. Luckily my boyfriend is pretty handy and knowing that we would wait at least a month or more for this to be fixed, he managed to take care of that himself. 6. The AC does not work well. The only two cold places in our apartment are bathrooms where the fans seem to be. The rest of the apartment is always significantly warmer and when we are using the bathrooms, we are freezing in order for the other rooms to be fine during this hot summer. 7. Now, I understand that there is a pandemic happening outside and the things won't be the same with amenities, but one of the biggest reasons why we chose Bell Flatirons was the amenities. The first 3 months they were completely closed down due to COVID (understandable until it was the governor's order, not after that...). Anyway, now that gyms, pools, and similar places are opened across Colorado, I do not understand why instead of trying to keep people separated and socially distanced and having all 3 pools opened, they only open one, plus with very restricted hours? Until a couple of weeks back, it was only from 9 AM - 5 PM which as you can imagine any employee working the typical office hours, can't make. I never got the answer from the property why they give the tenants such a small window to attend the pool. Instead of letting us use the pool anytime during the day (early morning until late evening as what we signed up for when agreeing to lease with Bell Partners). This time restriction with only one pool being opened leads to a crowded pool area, making it impossible to respect social distancing (particularly during weekends). Now, when people should avoid crowded spaces, it would make much more sense to have all 3 pools opened. On top of that, there are no cleaning sessions happening, they claim that they do them, but every time I am there and stick around until the pool area closes, they simply send everyone out. 8. Earwigs - they are everywhere - in the bathroom, in the kitchen, and most recently, unfortunately also in our bedroom. So, to summarize this, we signed up for living in the place with working appliances and amenities and we are getting neither and the property takes a few weeks to communicate back with you, after you chase them down. Now, our washing machine that has been "fixed" actually still continues to have occasional smaller water leaks, but I don't bother to even contact them at this point. There have been too many attempts, I just dry the water and won't really mind if the leaks permanently damage their floor eventually. All I hope is that we won't be here anymore, starting to look for a new home. Excited to get out of here! read more

I write a lot of five star reviews however I can agree with the rest of the people on here that this complex deserves less than one star. I lived there for 4 years, and they have treated me with nothing but disrespect. Every time you call in you get the same response, "our community is just too big to deal with everybody". They play the blame game all the time and blame the tenant for the community being too big. Makes no sense. You will pay when you leave - Two years in to me living there I upgraded I signed another lease with them and got a bigger place and they charged me $250 for a pet smell that they couldn't prove. I had to threaten my own apartment complex to remove it or I would take them to court and they removed it. They are always trying to get over on people. Valet trash - Valet trash is a joke. They force you to pay for trash pick up but they do not follow through on picking up your trash. There are days that you will wake up in the morning to trash all over your front porch from animals getting into it. Bell flat irons blames the tenant for not putting the trash in the bin that they provide. Who is going to bring a trash bin inside and outside every day it is very unsanitary. Poor management - Living here feels like the equivalent of living at a college dorm. The management is a big team that does not care about you or the way you live. They make rules, they nickel and dime you, they respond in negative ways, and the management above the management if you have a problem is terrible. I have never met someone as disrespectful as the current management at Bell. Just by the business manager coming onto Yelp and responding to peoples reviews by belittling them tells you what to expect when you move here. Extra fees - The pool was down for months at a time but they still make you pay the full rent. I kept telling them that my air conditioner was broken and they did not care. I was paying over $250 per month in electricity. I live in the same size apartment now and pay under $90 per month in the same season. Lies - The leasing department will lie to you at the start just to trap you into their scam and their ring of treating customers very very poorly. Rodents - Pest control is terrible. You will pay every month and you will have mice, rodents, spiders, anything you can think of in your apartment even if it is 100% clean. It's due to all of the cracks in the door frame and window frames. No accountability - One time my roommate received a very nasty email from one of the staff members at the clubhouse because he had two breakfast bars and two yogurts instead of one each like they had asked. She proceeded to curse him out in the email and explode on him. Not the way to treat residence. When we brought this up to the manager of the community all she could do was back up her employee and tell us that she will not change. No snow removal - If you are older don't move here. They charge you a ridiculous amount of extra fees on top of your rent but when it snows they do not clean it up. You will have to do your own driveway. The sidewalks and stairs are icy. And they never plow the streets. There will be snow and ice for months. They try to cut costs as much as they can. Thin walls - I could hear my neighbors every move in the apartment next to me and I live in a bigger one but two bed 2 1/2 bathroom two car garage. I constantly heard the dog barking, I heard when they walked up and down the stairs, I heard when they had light music on. It was very annoying and it was due to the very thin walls. Trust & Presentation - I lived in two different apartments at Bell. Both of them were not even clean on my move-in date. There were spiderwebs, leaves and excess debris all over the porches, dirt tracks on the floors and carpets, this shows you how little they care. Employees treated like slaves - The maintenance manager was absolutely terrible and I told him one time that I had a Bee problem, he laughed at me and told me to fix it myself. The maintenance employees were very helpful and tried to do the best job they could but quite a few of them told me how they were treated by bell and how much of a terrible place it was to work. I am 100% sure the manager will come onto yelp with a reply full of excuses and blames but my review is directed to people who are moving around in this beautiful state of Colorado. Stay out of this community. It tricks you at first because it's so beautiful in such a great location with beautiful mountain views and beautiful amenities, the management will treat you like little you are in kindergarten. Since I've moved I've realized how terrible I've been treated by my complex in four years. Glad I got out. read more

He is incredibly friendly, does great work and always has a smile and a wave when passing by! The Resident Services folks have been extremely helpful and on point with assistance to their resident as far as I can tell. This seems like a nice place to live and fairly quiet even though it is an enormous property. read more

I've been living at Bell Flatirons for 4 months. We've really enjoyed the views, the location, large windowsand vaulted ceilings. However, I must warn potential renters of two concerns. 1. Last night, one of the cement stairs leading up to my 2nd story apartment completely broke in half as I stepped on it causing me to fall straight through. Luckily it was near the bottom of the staircase. If it were higher it could have done some serious damage. 2. If you have a nice car, the detached garages are so small that it takes skill every time you try and park your car. So many have wood missing on the sides which tells me countless people have scraped their cars trying to get into their ridiculously small garages. Every apartment has pros and cons. I've been living in Bell Flatirons for about a year now. I will be moving to a different state after the end of this lease. Although the amenities are great and the location is fantastic, there are several reasons why living here has not been ideal. First, my roommate and I have been without a dryer for almost half a year now. I put in three requests to have it fixed and after about three months, I finally heard back. After scheduling for someone to come take a look at the dryer, the person never showed up. This has happened another three times where we get a call from someone setting up a day and time to come by the apartment and the person never shows up. Aside from that, our hot water has not been working and we have yet to hear back from the work order we put in. Parking is also an issue. There are not enough parking spaces available which has caused numerous renters to park in odd places in the parking lots, sometimes making it hard for parked cars to get out of their parking spot without coming close to hitting a car. The waste containers for pet waste are usually over flowing, and it is not uncommon to see trash and cigarette butts littered around the stair wells and on the grass. read more

The apartments are barely hanging on in the older sections. I like the location, amenities, and even the floor plans but there's A LOT of downsides. Here's a brief list of what is broken/not functioning in our specific unit. Windows that dont lock, literally 95% of the windows in the unit dont even get close to shutting, they leave a large enough gap that you can feel a breeze through them (very indoor/outdoor living). Front door barely locks, you have to nearly throw out your back lifting up on the door to have a chance of turning the lock. The main closet clothes hanger fell down with less than 25 lbs of weight on it, likely due to the "cardboard" shelves that anchor the hanger to the wall. There's about ten more issues I can name but I will highlight the most unacceptable problem. The reviews are correct, you better hope to whatever you believe in, that your appliances or anything somewhat important doesn't fail in your unit. We had a dryer go out, my roommate is a Nurse and works in the ICU, having clean scrubs is pretty important in a sterile work environment. It has been a month, we've gone into to the maintenance office several times and have filled out several "request". No response, not even a confirmation that we are somewhere on a list. We have experienced terrible customer service. Allison Swigart, the accountant is combative, and we have had multiple issues with wrong charges. The maintenance has to be contacted every day to achieve any result. And the apartments are never clean on the outside. Additionally, the Bell Partners will try to remedy this post, by putting their leasing number below. But they will never dare post their owner' email or the head of corporates email. Bell Flatirons has far exceeded my expectations. I have lived here from 08/16 and will be moving 08/18, only because I took a job in Denver. The apartment is gorgeous inside and out. I feel completely safe at this apartment. Walking my dogs alone at night doesn't worry me as it had in other complexes. My apartment had new appliances, and upgraded kitchen and so much space. There were 4 of us living in a 2 bedroom and none of us felt cramped! The amenities in the apartment complex are better than I have ever seen. It has a 24 hour gym, basketball court, year round pool as well as smaller satellite pools, a beach, playground and more!!!! The maintenance requests are filled within a day or two, the urgent ones always faster. I have had them come and change my lightbulbs within the day! They are very generous about paying your rent, giving you a 3 day grace period each month. If you pay rent on time you will not have any problems, as expected. I will truly miss living at this complex and it's wonderful staff. read more

Unfortunately, I had the same experience as many - I arrived to find an apartment and lease terms much different than I agreed to. If I hadn't been dealing with illness and death in my family, I might have declined the keys. I double confirmed that the unit had a bathtub.... no bathtub. And the apartment is old, I understand, but it is shabby and hasn't had any improvements in many years. Yet my rent increase is about three times the average rent increase for our area. And I pay over four times what a nearby single family residence pays for curbside pickup - with recycling. I am one person with a 400 square foot apartment paying over $40 for trash removal? Somehow, my electric bill is accruing some common area power, I can see it on my initial bill. I am paying an inflated rate for water. And the pool in my section has yet to open this year as far as I can tell. I have never received anything for the pest control fee or the fee I have to pay some other platform to tell me how much to pay with utilities. Sewer, water - over $30 per month? How is that possible? My move-in was forced to an earlier date, I really should have seen the red flags. read more

Zero stars if I could. We've had maintenance issues ignored for 5+ months. We've taken off work to be home for scheduled appointments that they then don't show to. They act like they have no idea what anyone is talking about despite almost daily trips to the office. They are condescending and dismissive. It's disgusting how they take advantage of people. Trash isn't picked up regularly. The front door is broken and has been for a while. These are just a few things. Avoid at all costs!! read more

If you are reading these reviews because you are looking to see if you want to live here... I urge you to stop right where you are and look elsewhere. Even if you think that you can look past the issues that everyone posts about, or "it can't be THAT bad"... (I promise you it is), and at the one year mark, after subpar service - they will try to increase your rent price by 14% - yes FOURTEEN percent. When our one year mark rolled around.. we got an email from the leasing office that said they were "pleased to offer" us the new price of $2,045/month for our ONE BEDROOM ONE BATHROOM apartment. (Our original rent agreement was for $1,830)... that's over $200/month!!! In what world is that reasonable?! NO ONE.. NO ONE gets a 14% raise at work so they are just trying to STEAL peoples money... freaking greedy. MAYBE if the amenities were worth it (the gym is dark and dungeon-y.. if that's your think you'll enjoy it.. but don't let the pictures fool you).. the pool will be closed half the time (and the hours are dumb.. 9a-9p? MAYBE I could understand the 9pm close time IF there were apartment buildings close by where people are trying to sleep.. but the main pool is near NO homes)... MAYBE then would the price increase be worth it. But boy oh boy it is NOT. Oh but you CAN go into the office and try to negotiate.. where they will give you a nice change of 7% increase (still way too high. We went to tour other apartments nearby... so asked what the average increase is and she told us it's 0-3% at their apartments!!!!!) WHAT!!! Oh and maintenance takes forever. Often they will close your ticket stating that the work was completed when it most certainly was NOT. Since moving to our new apartments... we have had to put in maintenance tickets for a few small things. THEY CAME THE SAME FREAKING DAY. EVERY TIME. Oh and the leasing office is soooo unorganized. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Multiple times we have miscommunications from different people on their end of things. On our move out, we were charged for damages that didn't occur. Thankfully I emailed and they removed it, but if I didn't know to do that.. they would've just taken our money.. happily. Anyways...
