I have to say, I don't understand the negative reviews. The owner has been so kind and informative each time I've come in. Typically, I only stop in for replacement filters or belts. However this visit I was asking advice about hard floor cleaners and vacuums, he took time to explain and make recommendations. I knew he was being honest because he didn't immediately recommend the most expensive thing in the place. He explained his own choice of machines that he uses at home as well as why, and explained the layaway process when I wanted something I didn't have quite enough to purchase same day. Also not that it has anything to do with the service but the two adorable dogs that hang out behind the counter are a huge incentive for stopping in :) I appreciate the customer service and attention that was given to me here! If I could leave zero stars, I would. My dad talked about this place for years. Independently owned local business. He was excited to take me there to buy a vacuum. I bought 2 vacuums that day. I'm out of vacuum bags and am very happy to get off work in time to get there before they close and pick up replacement bags today. I walk in and am the only customer in the store. He says hello and I say that I'm here for some vacuum bags. The owner (come to find out) says, "well I can't help you if you don't know the make and model of your vacuums lady"....... *Shock I had the make, model, and picture of each replacement bag on my phone and was fully prepared to find them myself, but this guy assumed from the moment I walked in that I was ill- informed and ignorant and that I couldn't do anything without his help. He didn't like that I told him to calm down because I had everything in my phone. Then hee said he didn't need to accept business from me with my attitude. MY ATTITUDE. Wow. I'm not sure if he was this rude to everyone, or is he assumed that a woman couldn't know what she needed and find it herself. I will NEVER shop there again, and will tell everyone I know at the hospital I work at NOT to do business there, which is sad because I'd told everyone in my department about my visit to this local shop I was going to after work. He was rude, and in this day of online shopping, let me know how important he thinks his customer is. I don't need him. He needs me and people like me to keep him open. Initially was going to get it fixed but after the salesman educated me on the overall build of Dysons versus other more well made vacuums I decided to buy a new model. I went in looking for a new vacuum. I have a large shedding dog and the salesman had a yellow lab with him very similar to my dog. He showed me a few different models by using his own dogs hair on the carpets and I was excited to purchase the model he suggested. Even picked up a new canister to go with my upright. Bill is a very knowledgeable and customer oriented person. Great to have that personal attention when I had no clue what to get. read more

Do not purchase a vacuum at Bell Sweeper . I repeat! Do not make a purchase at this store !! I bought a $37O Riccar 25 series on July 23 . Went home and tried to use it and only the attachment worked . Beater bar never turned in upright position. Never had any sucking power . Called the store on July 24 (Saturday) spoke to a man who said bring it in we will take care of you . Brought it in and he told me to bring it back Tuesday (closed on Sun /Mon. ) and speak to Bill the man who sold it to me . This employee iwas rude , disrespectful and completely incompetent of showing me or fixing the issue. So Tuesday morning I go back and Bill is also rude . however he does show me the shutdown hidden button to push when beater bar shuts off to turn it back on . Great who wants a $370 vacuum that you have to push a button ever few minutes so the bar rotates and cleans carpet . Crap design . Bill continued just to talk. He's a talker and not really handling the situation . So I said out of frustration that I would take vacuum home try again and if this problem still happens I want a full refund. He said NO way I'm you a refund. I very unpleasantly told him where to go and walked out . Very unprofessional service and totally ripped me off . I entered the store to see the counter man waiting on a another customer. I waited approximately five minutes. I needed a foam filter for a popular Bissell vacuum. When it was my turn, I gave the employee a note with the part number. Then he asked if he could wait on another party because the part would take a while to find. Wait, I waited my turn. I told him I only had ten minutes. He said it would take longer than that. For a popular replacement part? No way! I will never go back. And I will ask my friends and family to do as well. read more
