After several trips and part swaps they could not fix it. I asked My HP plan company to send out someone else. Docs Appliance came out, and Anthony was the tech. He reviewed all the previous work. Taking a lot of time and testing he noticed that the wiring harness that had been replaced was installed incorrectly. After more inspection Anthony found some burned out components on the User Interface board. He was able to get a new one and replaced the defective one. I had left my freezer drawer open yesterday and upon realized, shut it and put a probe thermometer to watch the temp. It never got back down to 0F and was making an awful noise. I called around 8:30am and they had someone here by 11am. And they come to Detroit which is nice because there are plenty of businesses that won't. They required cash which is fine, luckily I had time to run to the ATM with how quickly the tech showed up! He said there was ice on the fan and the thermostat was probably toast so he cleaned that out and replaced the part and was gone in less than 30 minutes. Freezer dropping temp now very fast. But now, I hate to say it -- but increasingly, they treat loyal customers like crap. They promise to call back with information, and NEVER do. Make appointments they don't keep, and don't call. --I get it when a business is understaffed with good techs -- but CALL and let the customer, who is waiting and counting on them, to let them know what's up. Respond. I bought my most recent primary refrigerator from them about a year ago in the $500 range. I started calling almost three weeks ago that the temp was in the 60's and I was using the freezer section as a fridge. After multiple calls and messages, they didn't show up until four days ago and said compressor was bad and it wasn't worth fixing -- but they'd take care of me. And then, they didn't get back to me about the options. When I reached them two days ago they said they'd give me another one for ~$550. --Hmm. So, despite that the one I bought should have lasted more than a year -- that's the best they can do for me for a replacement? After making me wait for over two weeks for them to even look at it. And of course, they've promised to call me back 2 x's since this last conversation --and haven't. I even told them that I want to buy a washer and dryer from them over the next month. -- Doesn't make any difference in their interest in helping me out. --I might as well start buying new sale or scratch & dent appliances instead of being treated like this.
