We booked Bella Bridal Napa Valley for hair and makeup for my June wedding at Solage for our entire bridal party, me, both moms, and our officiant. Jenna, Lilia, and Rhea were absolutely amazing. Everyone felt and looked stunning and the makeup and hair was just what we wanted for my evening black tie wedding. Doing the trial was really helpful as there were some changes I wanted to see from the trial (Bella Bridal airs on the side of more natural makeup and I wanted it a little less natural for an evening black tie wedding. I also wanted the hairstyle a bit more classic than boho) they were SUPER receptive to all feedback, and it was obvious they were genuinely invested in making me feel confident, happy, and beautiful on my big day. It was so important to me that not only I felt really beautiful, but my ladies did as well. Jocelyn did my wedding on 7/21/24. She was AMAZING. I hired her with no trial, and she was able to flex her schedule to remain in CA for my wedding. We hired Bella Bridal for bride, 3 bridesmaids, and mother of the bride. The highlight of the hair/makeup process was hands down when we handed my mom a mirror after her makeup trial, and she started crying saying she hadn't felt so beautiful in a long time. I can't imagine not doing the trial, despite the extra cost, as we tweaked almost everything about my makeup after that process. I had a very tough time picking a hair/makeup vendor - as someone who used to do my own full face of makeup each day, but recently developed skin sensitivities, my headspace is complex and I came in with worries about reacting to products. I have mixed feelings overall, as a clean updo was important, but a bit of my low bun fell down. Overall, I think they delivered what they promised, which is a very natural "no-makeup" look. The subtle fake lashes were probably my favorite - they looked so real and lasted well all day. Remember to provide your own lip color for reapplications throughought the day. read more

I had no specific requirements and wanted to explore soft nude/natural matte colors while still looking and feeling like myself. Where to start? First, Jocelyn is my homegirl. Within minutes of meeting her I knew I was in good hands. She is so warm and fun, and she made me feel totally calm and beautiful on my wedding day! Jocelyn is super easy to communicate with and is very responsive to emails. I contacted her pretty late in the game as far as wedding planning goes. As an out of town bride, I only had one weekend to meet all my vendors. Jocelyn worked me in for a trial with only 2 weeks notice and even opened her salon early to make it work. She not only creates a day-of getting ready schedule, but also sticks to it which I love and appreciate. I was definitely apprehensive about sharing her time with my wonderful but sometimes demanding mother, but Jocelyn reassured my neurotic self that everything would run smoothly and it absolutely did! The Bella Bridal team can come to you, but the studio in St. Helena is so super cute and worked perfectly for our small wedding party! There is a small fridge to stash bubbly and a covered patio area to sit and enjoy snacks and hang out. Jocelyn is so talented and easy going. When I changed my mind about how I wanted to do my hair the morning of my wedding, she was the ultimate professional and went with it (sorry about that Jocelyn!) My hair is very thick and heavy and doesn't hold curl well. Jocelyn began the day by curling and setting my hair and then styled it at the very end. I have to say It is difficult to get someone to answer the Salon phone. They must not have a receptionist which makes things difficult to schedule. Once Joselyn, the owner, finally did contact me she was prompt and friendly in getting all the arrangements together and taking the $30 retainer to reserve the time slot. I was scheduled for hair and makeup with Gabriella. Originally when I booked the services, I would of been able to walk to the salon from my hotel and get the full experience of the boutique ambiance. A week after booking, Jocelyn informed me the salon was moving locations and quickly came to a solution that Gabriella could come to my hotel for an additional $30 travel fee. For the inconvenience she kept the prices as in studio ($230 for Hair and Makeup) instead of on site pricing ($250 for hair and makeup). I always plan ahead and prefer to prepay everything beforehand so once I'm on vacation I can completely relax and enjoy. I am a hairstylist of 12 years so I even sent Pinterest pictures of what I would like to make it easy. Unfortunately, you can not prepay services or pay with a credit card. Checks or cash only. In total I paid $280 ($230 for services, $30 travel fee plus $20 tip) which is very reasonable and average pricing from all of my previous experiences although in the past I have always been able to prepay and use a credit card with no issue. As for my hair and makeup It was very beautiful and stayed in place all day. It looked just like the photos I provided. Gabriella is very talented. 3 stars seems fair for overall experience and service. I think if They hired a receptionist to handle bookings over the phone or used millennium go or Spa booker for online booking and if they used a company like Square for credit card payments it would keep this company up with the times and make this a five star experience. read more

Do not work with Jocelyn. I was personally referred to Jocelyn by a friend and my wedding venue therefore I was expecting great service-unfortunately I was very disappointed. Jocelyn and I had exchanged a number of emails about her availability and she quickly let me know she was not available but one of her colleagues was - I was thrilled! I asked her to send her pricing and followed up with a questions regarding their 50/hour travel fees. All of the responses were very short and pushy. Finally, she asked if I wanted to review a contract through Honeybook and I responded and told her I'd love to see the contract but wanted to ask about pricing. I said on average I've been quoted $150-200 for the bride with a trail for $100. Jocelyn's is $250, plus $75 for a venue 20 minutes away, plus $115 for a trail and $100 per BM. I asked if there was any wiggle room (which I knew there probably wasn't but since I was a personal referral I had to ask, weddings are expensive!) and she responded... "Hello Katie, Unfortunately we do not adjust our pricing. With us you are hiring professionals; we do not flake, arrive and complete on time and give a 100% in customer service. At this time I think it would be best to book with someone that fit's in your budget. Best of luck" I was appalled and seriously offended. Jocelyn never asked me what my budget was and is assuming I can not afford her pricing? Paying roughly $440 on ONLY my hair is not a low budget and I'd encourage any bride to ask about pricing before signing anything. I asked to see a contract and you refused service plus insulted me by saying you suggest I look for a lower budget. If this is your example of 100% customer service and hiring professionals, your referral business is in serious trouble. You just turned down a large wedding party which would of been within your pricing but unfortunately you couldn't take the time to talk to me. read more

Went to Sonoma for my sisters wedding. We rented a nice house. The make up artist was fabulous! Brenda. The hair stylist (Nicole) was rude and sub par. She made my hair a helmet and ruined my sisters hair. She refused to help us fix it after. Then... she refused to do my 4y/o daughters hair- which would take 5min tops! I showed her a picture of the hair style I wanted, and she styled my hair the exact same way, maybe even better, then what was shown in the picture! Not only that, but I have ALWAYS had thick thick hair, and have never been able to find someone to thin it out the way I would like it. Jocelyn mentioned thinning out some of my hair while I was there, and ever since then, I knew I had found my new hair stylist! Now every 3-4 months I find myself driving over an hour to Napa (from San Mateo) to get my hair cut by her :) On my actually wedding day, my photographer decided she wanted to get to the venue a little earlier so that we could get some good pictures in the daylight. That meant that I had to do hair/makeup a couple hours earlier then intended. I text Jocelyn in the morning and she made sure to get there earlier then originally planned. She was amazing! Overall, not only is she amazing, wonderful, and committed at what she does, but she is also such a joy to be around. Joceyln was awesome from start to finish! I contacted her early on during the planning process to set secure makeup and hair services for my wedding party and myself. She was a blast to work with during both the trial appointment and the day of the wedding. I love her new studio space in St. Helena because it's a cute space with a lot of personality! I opted to have her travel to the house I was staying at which worked out beautifully! She and Brenda were our artists/stylists for the day and showed up on time and ready! I have heard so many horror stories from family and friends about stylists/artists not showing up they day of the wedding, but Jocelyn is very reliable and came highly recommended via my wedding planner and photographer. Because it was a destination wedding, I was nervous booking bridal hair and makeup without a trial, but my hair was PERFECT (actually better than I described to her) and my makeup was flawless. I could not recommend Jocelyn and her team any more. She was amazingly easy to work with in terms of setting up appointments and trials throughout the whole wedding planning process. She also made you feel important and beautiful while doing your makeup and was just overall incredibly friendly and professional. I had so many people (other vendors) complimenting the job that she did as we were getting ready before the wedding, and these are people who work in weddings every day so they know their stuff.
