I made this appointment a few weeks back and is scheduled tomorrow. This morning I get a text from their service stating my visit will be $100 but I have BCBS and they are in network. They referred me to the billing department and she explained it's my deductible. I'm not paying $100 and you don't even know if you can help me. Watch out for Bella Dermatology My first visit I had to put a $500.00 deposit down. I have several bad spots on my legs. Without taking a biopsy she diagnosed it to be pre skin cancer. Gave me a treatment plan with no instructions. I also was given a shot for my scalp for skin sorosis. The second visit they wanted $180.00 for my biopsy before they would see me. They never took a biopsy or my blood. I call them on the card. The nurse said he could find no record. Also accounting showed me the services they gave me and billed my insurance. Most of them were never done. The day she cancelled the surgery for my cancer " that I don't have" and sent a letter sending me to Emery Cancer Center. I asked for a price? I have a new Doctor, and this is all sorosis. Again, I have to repay all the fees. I called their office today to ask for the money back. I'm starting over again with all the fees. Now according to this office, I had TB. No, I have never had TB. Arthritis and that's about it. This Doctor is about Dishonest as they come. No testing at all. Yet she cleaned up all she could from me and the insurance. I'm not a bad Karma person. But this is as low as a professional can go. I did have a full panel of Testing done at my primary this year and TB was not on it. Please don't spend your money at Bella it's not a safe place. AT 65 I need good doctors to keep me well! On October 4, 2022, I took off work for a routine appointment. After sitting in the lobby for over thirty minutes without being informed of an update I canceled my appointment and left. Just like I respect Dr. Sharpe's time and arrive on-time, I expect the mutual consideration. I understand the need to charge for no shows and for late arrivals. This consideration needs to be mutual. We are human and I grant grace when professionally informed the doctor is running behind. In the past, I have experienced being overcharged for my co-pay and having to request a refund which was granted without issue. I have an appointment scheduled for December 29th, and to be informed today that Dr. Sharpe would not refill my appointment until I come in for an appointment is unreasonable based on the aforementioned facts My last appointment where I was actually seen was May 10th. Dr. Sharpe is competent and got my skin on the right track. However, her bedside manners and office's work ethic just doesn't meet my customer service standards. I have to say that this practice went above and beyond with their service. They allowed me to come in the same day I called, due to a small emergency I was having. I was seen by the Doctor within minutes of arriving. At first I was hesitant to use their prescription delivery service, since I've always picked up my own medication from the pharmacy. Just wanted to make an appointment and giving out my insurance card info seems normal BUT my social security number is a bit much ...

My son was seen for acne and a rash on his arm. We have dual insurance, BCBS primary and Cigna secondary; they still insisted I pay a $50 copay and would refund it once the insurance paid. I have requested a refund 4 times now and can't get a response. The doctor looked at my son for about 2 minutes, gave him several medications and left. Nothing worked- we are now in the process of seeing another dermatologist and they want $25 for medical records to even see what they diagnosed my son with to begin with. The entire practice, from the front desk to the doctor is a complete joke! I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone! read more

I had an amazing visit with Dr. Sharpe and her staff. I relocated to the area and I was in search of a local dermatologist. My primary care doctor uses Dr. Sharpe and recommended that I give her office a try. I had a 2:20 appointment on Monday, July 31. I arrived at the office at 2PM. I was greeted by a very warm set of individuals at the front desk. I was sitting for about 10 minutes before being called to the back. The nurse ask me a few questions about medications, my reason for the appointment, and health conditions. Shortly after, Dr. Sharpe made her visit to see me. She was polite, personable, informed, and allowed me to express my needs for the visit. She did a thorough examination from head to toe. She made several recommendations for my treatment plan. She prescribed medications and had me set up for my next appointment. If most visits continue to go like this, I believe I have found my new dermatology family. The entire team was EXCELLENT. Every time I visit their office there is a long wait. The Physician Assist. was dismissive and did not do her due diligence to seek out a diagnosis. Did not ask me probing questions and was going to have me leave with the same problem. I stopped her from ending our visit insisting that the problem remained so she had the MD come in to follow up. Immediately the doctor stated that the problem remained. Asked probing questions and determined what solution needed to be applied. Additionally, the PA did not show up for the scheduled visit. The front office did not notify me and lied stating they called me. But had not called me to inform me of the cancellation. I asked how they would rectify things and no on offered a solution. The doctor did not want to fill in the gap and see me. They were ok about letting me leave with a poor experience which tells you about their patient care. Yet, no apology from anyone, front office staff or the PA, nor the doctor. On another occasion I sought out treatment for acne. After 1 glance the PA states, "oh I've seen worse, not that bad." Refused to give me what I needed. Only for me to walk out and have 3 huge break outs back to back with in 6 weeks. So, her NOT THAT BAD should have been, "on a scale of 1 to 10 where do you see your face now. and on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad does your face get?" Probing questions are always helpful. They are super helpful in TREATING and meeting the needs of your patients!!! read more

My daughter had what she described as an unpleasant visit to this office. She was prescribed an ungodly amount of drugs for a common skin condition and she was given the choice to either receive the pills or a shot. I have visited this office prior to the pandemic with my daughter but this time I was unable to attend and I really feel that Dr. Sharpe felt it was okay to speak to my daughter in the manner that she did in my absence. She made my daughter feel uncomfortable and frankly quite embarrassed about her skin condition. Patients don't need doctors like Dr. Sharpe who thinks that bedside manner is a buzzword. They need a doctor who will talk to them with respect and make them feel comfortable and trusting of their treatment plan. Unfortunately, Dr. Sharpe doesn't check any of those boxes, and needless to say, we won't be coming back. Honestly, I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews first before I booked an appointment that way it would have spared me from writing this review and wasting my time and money with her office. read more

I was in consultation with Dr. Terry Sharpe and she examined my body and said that there are 4 moles that the aspect is worrying and that it would need removal and biopsy. She said she would ask health insurance to remove them. However, I received a call from Dr. Terry's office saying that the insurance did not cover. My husband called the insurance and he said that they had not received any request for authorization to remove the mole. We called the doctor and she said that they did not ask for authorization for insurance because it is aesthetic. What? aesthetic? on a call from my back where I can't even see? And why did the story change? I mistakenly followed up with the doctor and today I paid the co pay and waited for the consultation via phone. My hirario was at 10:15 am and I waited until 12:15 pm and I didn't get a return. I called the office and the secretary said that the doctor tried to call me and couldn't. What? I woke up and I'm glued to my cell phone. In short, anti-professional conduct comes from receptionists to doctors. I do not recommend it, unless you want to be poorly attended and extorted. read more

I'm posting at this point because I'm completely over Dr. Sharpe and her staff! I started seeing Dr. Sharpe several years ago because at the time, I lived in South GA where there were no black dermatologists, and I preferred one because many African Americans weren't seeing results with the ones in South GA. Overall, Dr. Sharpe is a very knowledgeable Dr., however she has left much to be desired when it comes to patient engagement and being approachable. Needless to say, I dealt with it for several years and even took my daughter there. Now, on to the major problems... Three years ago I was on a regimen for acne and was given an additional prescription when I went in for a follow up. When I went to pick the prescription up, it was a cream for nail fungus. I didn't notice it until I got home and immediately called the office to let them know I was given the wrong prescription. The nurse I talked to was very nonchalant and told me to come pick up some samples from the office. There was no apology, no concern or anything. I asked what about my insurance since they charged my insurance for that cream. She stated there wasn't anything they could do. Let's fast forward to 2018, I took my daughter in for issues with her eczema. I was told by the office staff that she hadn't reached her deductible, although I told them she had. I called her Dad and confirmed it and he did, insurance said she had reached her deductible. They said their system was showing that she hadn't and made me pay over $300 that I was assured to get back once they filed the insurance. That was in September 2018 and here it is 2019 and I still don't have my money. I'm completely done with this place! It's obvious something isn't quite right as they've changed names and locations several times since I've been there. I will definitely be taking action if this is not resolved very soon! read more

So this doctors office has attempted to contacted me today with the intentions of arguing of how I was wrong and how I must be doing something different than following the prescribed regiments. Lol, Ive followed the plan to the "T". Rather than say they apologize for wasting my time and money after telling me this is highly unlikely to return and it returns after I've stopped using the meds. Three months process they say. I went longer than three months. Funny how most of the reviews for this regimen ended with the same results as mine, but the doctors research is documented. This place, a joke. This place has very interesting billing practices.. When I called in to make my new patient appt I gave the young lady both of my Insurances.. at time of my appt.. when I was called up to the desk the lady told me that since my primary is a high deductible plan I have to pay near $400. To see the doctor.. when I asked if they checked both Insurances because my 2ndry picks up whatever my primary doesn't pay... she told me they only go by the primary Ins due to the fact that most of the time the secondary Insurances do not pay!! Very interesting! I told her Im not going to pay 400.00 based on a humbug.. and have to hold my breath for a refund.. ABSOLUTELY NOT! She then told me they assume that everyone should know their benefits.. and my response was.. I do!! Thats why Im telling you what both my Insurances cover.. and if anyone verified BOTH they would have known that.. I was turned off already by the 145.00 no show fee that is posted on the all white wall that reminded me of a padded cell.. but the snapping front desk lady was really the icing on the wtf cake.. so I xcld my appt (hoping they wont send me a bill just for the hell of it) and went to the dermat my Hubby goes to.. and BAM.. the guarantee of proper Customer Service.. smiles.. inviting atmosphere.. and proper insurance handling! I find the staff here always professional and personable. From the first time I visited each and every time I return they are consistently polite. I am not one to keep going anywhere that makes me unhappy. Whenever you call them they answer. Appointments are usually kept on time because I've only had to wait longer on one visit. I have not seen Dr. Sharpe but the Nurse Practitioner, Cidney is the only one who has treated me. She always greets you with a smile and can remember things that might have been discussed previously like checking on me as I struggled keeping my spirits up over a family matter. I don't know what others have truly experienced because honestly I can't think of any of those ladies that would make it a bad experience. I can't speak on the price structure since I am covered through insurance but I've never gone and the lobby was empty. I do know that they offer different types of services but I will probably never need any of them to try. Overall solid office and convenient availability of appointments. read more

When she walked in she was told that they wanted to cancel her appointment but they did not have her phone number,however, they had called her before to confirm the appointment. Then they tell her there is something wrong with her insurance, turns out they spelled her last name wrong. She is then told they have to ask the doctor if she will do your treatment today. From the front desk reception area to the medical professionals once I was taken to the room to be seen by the Doctor. This was my first visit with Dr. Sharpe. My PCP recommended that I have a skin survey and a specific mole looked at. The front desk staff was nice enough (the office was busy so i didn't expect them to do more than was necessary). I was taken back to a room and waited for Dr. Sharpe for maybe 15 minutes. She came in and introduced herself and shook my hand and immediately started looking me over (again, the office was busy so I wasn't looking for any special treatment, but the whole process felt very rushed). After looking at a mole I asked about, i was told "that looks fine, but your insurance will pay to take it off because you're white". ...what? Maybe it has something to do with fair skin, or maybe it was meant to be a joke? But to say that to a new patient within 3 minutes of meeting them and to leave it at that, I was offended. a simple "because you're at higher risk of X" or even just leaving it at "your insurance will pay to take it off" would have been completely acceptable. I even asked the staff at the front desk what my race had to do with my insurance coverage and they just laughed it off. I've already made an appointment with another dermatologist for a 2nd opinion. Coming in the staff was nice for the most part . I was taken to the back pretty quickly so I was pretty happy about that . I came in with multiple concerns and made this clear when I made my appointment,on my health sheet I filled out, and to the medical assistant who questioned me before hand . Sharpe came in with a nurse looked and me and was out of there. The nurse wasn't the friendliest. She talked to you but seemed almost uninterested and forced . I was upset because I had other concerns I needed addressed with my skin and I told the nurse. She told me did I want to wait for the doctor or Come but end up pretty much saying to hold off till my follow up visit . While she filled out my prescription the doctor came out and the nurse told her I had more concerns . She looked at her and said oh her skin isn't bad just give her wateva the prescription was in an annoyed voice and went into another room. I played it cool but inward quite annoyed . Why be doctors or s nurse and half seem like you enjoy people . What's the point of telling the office your concerns if your only going to touch on one thing because your ready to get through partients. Even if my concerns seem small it's big enough for me to pay you so it should be checked . I shouldn't have to come back and hope that this time you'll spend some time on my other concerns . Terrible terrible! Do they have zero stars? Took my daughter to get a wart frozen. Get there - she tells me she doesn't freeze anything off and for me to scrub it down with pumas rock until it bleeds. Then prescribes is 2 ointments that are $200 a piece (2 kids , 2 ointments each) $800! Why did they schedule appointment if they don't freeze when that's what I said I wanted. My son has a place on his face (very small bump) that needs to be scraped off but tells us she doesn't have time that day. So we schedule "surgery" . The extremely unprofessional receptionist calls me the day before and tells me that we need to be prepared to pay. Pay what! I'm fully prepared to pay whatever we haven't met on our deductible but aren't you going to tell me an estimate! She said she didn't know what the doctor had scheduled so she couldn't tell me. today 9/14/18 my 2yr. old appt was at 11:10. front desk staff was friendly and assisted me with the check in on the computer. we went to the back about 11:35 not a bad wait. the MA was friendly/nice. about 10 or 15 min she came in. she didn't look like the doctor I saw online. must be the P.A. I said oh hi. she said take his clothes off in a demanding way. I was shock. I took my baby shirt and shorts off. she started asking questions and i answered. I put my son on the the exam table and she stood next to the sink the whole time. she did not came close to get a good look or touch my baby. she did explained to me what she is prescribing. after she left I just wanted to hurry and get my baby out of there. don't think i will go back for 1 month f/u. I am a nurse and making sure patient is taking care of and feel good about their visit is very important. not sure what she ordered will help my baby skin but the first visit was not a good feeling. right now I am feeling some kind of way about the visit. thats good for those who had a good experience. maybe she was having a bad day. still not going back and I will call to speak to someone about it. read more
