Those who go to Bella Grande has it switched ownership within the last two years? I just left from there with the worse pedicure I ever had. I am still bleeding and couldn't get polish because they opted to cut my cuticles dry. The service I agreed to was $55 i decided not to get polish because of the blood and she wanted to charge me $51 dollars for my service. When I said I'm bleading her response was, " you asked for that?" But I didn't ask to bleed. I am bleeding so much the solution they usually use to stop the bleeding didn't work plus the lady had to put neosporin on my toe. This use to be too notch shop. Have you had good experiences there? I came here for a mani pedi with my mom. I wanted to treat her to what I was told was the best place in St. John's. Unfortunately we experienced very poor customer service. For starters our appt was at 2:15 and we sat down to be seen, they ran the hot bath for our pedicure and luckily started on my no however they left me to sit for 45 min. No one checked in or updated. The point of going together is to have it done at the same time not sit around and watch your friend get their pedicure done while you wait then they have to wait for you. I did notice them being kind to regulars offering beverages and telling jokes. But if you've never been in before do t waste your time! We weren't offered a beverage and we didn't have any service for an hour. No magazines no water. We also booked the most expensive service they offered at 80 per pedicure. I've come to Bella Grande for over 4 years now and they're such an awesome, friendly staff who make you feel like family. Plus, the salon has a really nice, warm atmosphere unlike a lot of other nail salons that can feel transactional and unclean. Jason and team have low staff turn over and I'm able to see a variety of nail techs and know they'll be great. Any of the staff who do SNS always do an amazing job with my nails, even when I'm pulling up pics from Google for them to try and recreate! As for pedicures, I always get the OPI pedicure as it's a little longer and has great scents. One reco is to book an appointment in advance on their app even if it's same day, as now that they're closed on Sunday, Saturday can get pretty busy. read more

Second time here. Had the voesh deluxe pedi I requested Jaylyn again. She really takes her time, which I don't mind. A 45 minute service turned into about 90 minutes. I'm sure if I had somewhere to be I could let her know and she'd hurry it up. The staff here is nice and remembers you when you come back. Beverages are always offered and they take their care to the next level. Christine has done my nails now for the last 2-3 years (she's popular so I have to make sure I book in advance). ***DISCLAIMER: I am a Nail client Nightmare. I like my nails thinner than recommended, shaped "Just so", and I'm a red HOT mess 99% of the time. In addition, acrylic typically only lasts a week and a half before starting to lift, doesn't matter WHO does my nails.*** Now that we have established I'm a PITA client let's talk about Bella Grande Nail Salon. I have been to the salon twice (I don't reviews off single visits, everyone has bad days and good days, so I try to give the benefit of the doubt). My first visit was on Valentine's Day (typically NOT a good day for any salon as they tend to be SLAMMED with picky women all in a hurry) and to make matters worse I was the last appointment of the day AND I showed up 30 mins late (like I said, I'm a PITA). I offered to reschedule and Christine (who has the patience of a saint) said I wouldn't need to. I had a dip set on and I needed a soak off and a new set, my heart was set on dip ONLY because of how thin I like my nails (I prefer the strength of acrylic as I'm a bit of Tom boy that digs in dirt with no gloves). Christine assured me she could do acrylic AND get them thin enough to satisfy me, reluctantly I agreed. While Christine worked on my hands we had GREAT conversation, not the typical Nail Tech "I don't know what to say but the silence is killing me" talk. Really felt like I was sitting and having a girls night with a friend. When she finished, I had the most beautiful, natural looking set of acrylics I'd ever seen. Walking out I scheduled my fill-in appointment and was warned to be careful!!! Trip 2 I got a fill-in and here's where it gets interesting, NO LIFTING!! For the first time in the 20 years I've been getting my nails done I had ZERO lift! Christine sat me down and we started our chatter as she worked away on my nails. Exactly 1 hour later she was finished, nails were beautiful, my appointment was scheduled, and I was sitting in my car driving home. Wrap up: If you are looking for a salon that is accommodating, patient, and FUN this is the salon for you. Christine pays the closest attention to the finest of details to get your hands as perfect as she can. She is also a WEALTH of knowledge on hand and nail care that she will share with you to help stretch your fill-in appointments out. I've been here a few times but my most recent experience here was last Saturday afternoon. I called first to see if I needed an appointment but was told I could just come right in. I was getting a Shellac manicure and basic pedicure. Upon arrival I checked into their iPad system and picked out my colors. The way they have their gel polishes displayed is perfect. Each color is painted onto an artificial plastic nail and they are all color coordinated. I chose my colors and was escorted to a pedicure chair. Every pedicure chair looks brand new and all very comfortable with numerous massage options. I almost fell asleep while soaking. ;) The pedi baths that you soak your feet in have jets and they light up with different colors. ATMOSPHERE: The music playing was very current and upbeat. The entire salon is squeaky clean and very chic! All of the nail technicians were dressed in fashionable attire and the women are gorgeous! My nail tech (Michael) offered me something to drink, they offer red and white wine, soda and water. He proceeded to give me an amazing pedicure! I'm very ticklish but he did a fantastic job of making me feel relaxed and the massage portion felt like a real massage not just some fru fru slap down my legs like most places. While my feet sat in the hot paraffin wax Michael applied acetone soaked cotton to my finger nails and wrapped them in tin foil, this way my gel polish would be ready to be removed by the time we got to the manicure portion. He did an excellent job painting my toes and when he was finished he slipped my flip flops right on and brought me to a manicure table. The gel polish on my fingernails came right off! He filed and shaped up my nails and cuticles, gave me another fabulous massage, paraffin and then polished my nails. Overall, he did an incredible job, remained very professional and courteous. I felt relaxed and never rushed throughout my entire experience. The total for my gel manicure (gel polish removal from previous manicure) and pedicure was $63 which I thought was a steal for the top notch service I received. I will definitely return! read more

She has been my nail guru for years in Hawaii and now that we're both in Florida I have to make the trip from Panama City Beach to Jacksonville just for her. Rosanna is not just skilled or talented, she's gifted! She knows hand and nail shapes, and her eye for color and style is always on point. I've been getting my nails done since high school. All over the US and Bella Grande is one of my all time favorites. Not only do they do a great job (shout out to Christine and Rosanna) but they are friendly and fun. My gel manicures always last so long when Christine works her magic and she always has great color suggestions (my normal go to's are kinda boring). When my mom is in town from Michigan this is one of her first stops and we go multiple times when she's her for her snow escape. Oh and I'm obsessed that you can make appointments on the app. I love it. I mean l like chatting with them when I'm there but sometimes you need to make an appt in the middle of the night. read more

Had a great experience here. I'm visiting from out of town and my cousins wife booked an appointment for 3 of us for noon. They were able to sit us down a few mins early and it wasn't a big deal. Bella Grande is the best of the best! I've been doing the gel polish since 2011 but was always aggravated with it either peeling or not lasting very long. I started going to Bella Grande just over 2 years ago and LOVE their service as well as their staff. My nails stay PERFECT for over 2 weeks. Christine Le is the best nail tech I've ever had. She is not only great with my nails but she is super sweet and fun as well! If she is out, I've also used Trish a couple times and have been very happy with her. As for the overall salon, it's very clean and decorated nicely. The environment is fun, with big screen TV's and music playing. The staff is always very put together and everyone is so nice. I love the way the nail salon looks. It's very fancy inside and makes the experience that much better. The staff is easy to talk to and I love the fact that all of their nail polishes are already on a string of plastic nails so you choose from that what color you want instead of opening and swiping every bottle of nail polish. The staff was extremely helpful and answered every question I had. My only problem is that my nails came out a bit shorter than I wanted them and they told me it would be $19 but charged me $20. I've been a client of Bella Grande for approximately 4.5 years now. I use to be seen as a "Walk-In" until recently, I was told that I had to make an appointment. So, I made an appointment online. For the 3rd time this year, I've had to wait anywhere from 30-60 minutes for my scheduled appointment. This last visit, I just walked out after 35 minutes of waiting.
